Gene Domination: The Loli Who Devours Worlds
Chapter 223: Prayer
Above the Pacific Ocean, dozens of white trails cut through the sky.
Lilith stood on the base’s walkway, her crimson eyes lifting slightly as she watched the massive objects streaking overhead.
nuclear bombs.
One, two, three…
Dozens of nuclear bombs, accompanied by piercing whistles, flew rapidly toward the depths of the Pacific Ocean.
She tilted her head, somewhat confused.
nuclear bombs? Is humanity crazy?
Don’t they have Jaegers? Why are they launching nuclear bombs?
Before she could figure it out, her communicator suddenly rang.
Sterk.
Lilith glanced at the screen but didn’t answer.
She looked up toward the Pacific Rim Base, tapped her toes lightly, and her petite body soared into the air, speeding toward the base.
Pan-Pacific Operations Command Center.
Dead silence.
This was Lilith’s first impression as she pushed the door open and entered.
The command center, usually busy and noisy, was now as quiet as a tomb.
Everyone was staring at the screens, watching the trajectories of those nuclear bombs.
Technicians’ fingers hovered over keyboards, forgetting to type.
Officers stood at their posts, motionless.
Only the jumping numbers on the screens proved that time was still passing.
The nuclear bombs reached their predetermined positions.
The detonation sequence was initiated.
And then—the signal was cut.
All the nuclear bombs lost control at the same moment, plunging into the sea without further movement.
On the screens, the light points representing the nuclear bombs went out one by one, eventually disappearing completely.
Inside the command center, it remained dead silent.
No one spoke, no one cried out, no one was angry.
Because everyone had already seen something even more terrifying.
On the radar, a dense mass of light points was emerging.
Ten, a hundred, a thousand, ten thousand.
Those weren’t light points; those were Kaiju.
Category Four, tens of thousands of them.
Category Three, countless.
The satellite image was switched to the main screen.
In the depths of the Pacific Ocean, a black tide was surging.
That wasn’t a tide; those were Kaiju.
They poured out from the seabed, dense and overwhelming.
On the sea surface, countless massive figures leapt out of the water, spreading wings and flying toward the sky.
They had only one target—human cities.
Lilith stood at the door, staring at the dense light points on the screen, stunned.
The number was too great, so great that even she was surprised.
Sterk turned around and looked at her.
He smiled, though the smile was somewhat desolate.
“If humanity cannot survive this disaster.”
He spoke, his voice hoarse.
“We will consolidate the last of humanity’s strength to let you leave alive.”
He looked at Lilith, then at the ten Reincarnators behind her.
“I know you don’t belong here. But…”
His voice trailed off.
Then, this Commander of the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps, this soldier who had spent his life fighting monsters, knelt down heavily.
“I hope you can take the sparks of humanity and leave this place together.”
His knees hit the floor with a dull thud.
Inside the command center, everyone stopped what they were doing, watching their Commander kneel before that silver-haired Little Girl.
Lilith fell silent.
She looked at the overwhelming Kaiju on the screen, at the dense light points on the radar, and at the black tide approaching in the satellite image.
She didn’t care about the number of these Kaiju.
She could kill them all alone.
But she couldn’t stop them all.
With tens of thousands of Kaiju landing simultaneously, humanity couldn’t possibly hold out.
And she alone could not block such a massive scale.
The Reincarnators behind her also fell silent.
They wanted to leave.
Faced with such a massive Kaiju army, they were powerless to resist.
But at this moment, for some reason, they only wanted to fight until the last moment.
Lilith looked at the kneeling Sterk, and scenes from the past few days flashed through her mind.
The respectful gazes of the soldiers, the fanatical cheers of the civilians, and the bright eyes of the Little Girl who asked for her autograph.
And this soldier, kneeling before her when everyone was in despair, pleading with them.
She grinned.
“Humanity will not go extinct. This planet will not be destroyed either.”
Her voice wasn’t loud, but it clearly reached the ears of everyone present.
“I said so.”
Sterk looked up, staring into those crimson eyes.
There was no hesitation, no pity, only an absolute certainty.
As if what she said was simply fact.
Lilith turned around and looked out the window at the row of parked steel beasts.
“You lot, hold the coastline. Don’t let a single monster step into a human City.”
Her voice was flat, but it carried an unquestionable command.
Lilith didn’t care whether humanity perished or not.
Because she wouldn’t stay in this world for long.
But now, that man’s kneeling had made her change her mind.
After all, this world had billions of her fans.
The respect those humans had for her, the adoration from the children, and that Little Girl who wanted her autograph.
A smile appeared at the corners of Lilith’s mouth.
Behind her, a pair of silver-white dragon wings suddenly unfurled.
The dragon wings flapped, and her petite figure soared into the air, darting toward that silver-gray steel titan.
Lilith landed steadily on the shoulder of Abyss.
Crimson light emerged around her body.
The Ever-Changing Rubik’s Cube detached from her wrist, decomposing into twenty-seven dark red cubes.
They floated in the air, vibrating slightly, and then, as if they possessed life, they flew toward Abyss’s body.
Merging.
Eroding.
Remodeling.
Crimson patterns spread across Abyss’s armor, like the blood vessels of a living creature.
Those patterns crawled across the chest, up the arms, and onto the head, remodeling this thirty-thousand-ton steel beast bit by bit into a completely new existence.
Inside the cockpit, Lilith closed her eyes.
Her Spirit merged with the Ever-Changing Rubik’s Cube, sensing the changes in the Jaeger’s structure and guiding the direction of the erosion.
What she wanted was not an ordinary Jaeger, but a weapon.
A weapon capable of carrying all of her power!
The next moment, she opened her eyes.
Crimson vertical pupils appeared on that delicate little face.
But unlike before, four eyes appeared on Lilith’s face.
A murderous aura erupted from her petite frame.
At the same time, crimson mist poured out from every joint and every gap of Abyss,
completely enveloping this hundred-and-twenty-meter steel titan.
In the mist, those crimson patterns grew brighter and denser, as if the entire Jaeger were burning.
And at that moment, the bones in Lilith’s body suddenly crackled.
Inside the command center, everyone stopped breathing.
They watched the crimson mist, watching the body within it that was undergoing a massive transformation.
Sterk slowly stood up and looked out the window, his gaze becoming sharp.
“All personnel, attention.”
He spoke, his voice low and firm.
“Prepare for battle!”
