Chapter 163: New Abilities
However, Rohan quickly found that there was more to his status than he first originally believed.
Below his attributes, another section stood still for him to peer at, one which intrigued him.

Rohan tapped the words with one finger, and the panel rippled. A second panel with further explanation appeared beneath it.

Rohan continued to read it over and over, quickly making himself familiar with every last word of this new section of his status.
He was quite happy that finally, he was getting some explanations for some of his concerns for once, but knew this was short lived. This was only because he was using a different system, the Great System, that naturally provided more information than his Original Origin Realm system did — but also the fact that he had its literal creator backing him up too.
His gaze then shifted onto his Class. ’If this State section can be expanded upon, I wonder if my Class can now that it’s been updated by Hestia?’
It was already different than how the Origin Realm treated his Evolution Gene. Back there, it was nothing but a talent, something rooted in the very foundation of his existence ever since he first awakened. Originally, he thought that something as deep rooted as this would have carried over into this new universe even without the help of the Origin Realm anymore, but it seemed that not even a person’s talents are completely their own.
’Perhaps I can take advantage of this change and learn more about the Evolution Gene.’ Rohan thought.
One of the main things holding him back ever since he awakened was the fact that he had to figure everything out for himself, never once receiving an explanation from the Origin Realm on how he could actually use the talent — just having to wing it, essentially.
But now that this powerful new system had taken over for the time being, one that was much more generous with information at that, his hopes were high, to say the least.
He mimicked the same movements as before, tapping his class with his finger.
The panel flickered, causing Rohan’s heart to skip a beat. ’It really worked!’

Rohan’s breath caught in his throat. First off, this was all new information that he was forced to take in all at once, so he took a moment to calm himself down and think things over more clearly.
There was one very distinctive thing that came across first to him.
"Skills?" He spoke without realising. His words came out louder than he would have liked, especially considering the environment he was currently in.
One of the distant fog creatures paused, and Rohan froze.
The creature’s thin tail lifted, starting to glow brighter, while Rohan slowly lowered himself even lower behind the rock for cover.
After several tense seconds passed, the creature resumed moving with the others, to Rohan’s great relief.
He swallowed the big lump of worry that had just welled up in his throat. ’Inside voice only, idiot! Inside voice!’
He looked back at the panel after checking the coast was clear, which continued to float patiently in front of him the whole time.
The skills were the things that stood out the clearest — mostly because the word was mentioned twice in the description. But also because Rohan had an inkling as to what these skills could be referring to.
Particularly after reading the names of the three ’Core Skills’, which happened to fit like a glove with the principles his Evolution Gene had been following even while he was back in the Origin Realm.
’Additional Skills...’ The section expanded once more, and a short list presented itself to him.

Rohan’s eyes widened.
Forget the Ashen Marches, the fog creatures, the occasional distant tremors, even the possibility of gods wanting to carve him open and study him — all of it faded into obscurity beneath this intriguing discovery.
’From the names alone it looks as if this new Class of mine doesn’t just take my Evolution Gene as a single block and make it my class, but combined all of my other abilities into it as well — ones derived from my Genes and Genetic Armaments I had absorbed.’
However, if this were the case, then he could guess what skills number 2 and 3 represented, but the first one on the list? He had no idea where this could have originated from.

Rohan was unable to make any sense of the skill even after reading its description.
’Is this something new, or did I already have this before coming to this new universe without even knowing about it?’ This was the trouble of not receiving any information from the Origin Realm itself and having to rely only on his own deductions and knowledge.
He stared at the floating description for a few more seconds, but his brows remained knitted together.
’Biological, environmental and spiritual energies...’
He understood every individual word, just that all together in a complete sentence it sounded like utter nonsense to him. It sounded useful, but he had absolutely no idea how it worked — though he assumed it originated from his Evolution Gene from making the connections.
’Now that I think about it, will my Evolution Gene itself even work the same as it did in the Origin Realm? Will I be forced to remain at the same level of strength the whole time I’m in this universe? There aren’t exactly any Origin Crystals to absorb here...’
All that he had were the ones that were on him at the time when inexplicably entering Hestia’s realm in the Greater Universe.
But that could not create a long term solution for him.
’Perhaps these core skills have something to do about how it works now. Not to mention that this Evolutionary Sense skill only mentions ’Energies’ vaguely, nothing specific about Origin Energy.’
Rohan crouched lower behind the rock.
He tried to activate the skill, but as far as he could tell, nothing happened. There was no notification or anything of the like from the Great System, nor did any new or unusual feelings well up inside of him either.
Everything simply remained as it was.
’Right. So even with a more generous system, I still have to do the hard parts myself.’
He focused again.
’...’
But just as before, there was no reaction.
’Ahh to hell with it! I’ll figure this skill out sometime later down the line.’
His gaze then shifted to the second skill.
[Molten Assimilation]
[Allows the user to take on the features of any compatible heat, stone, metal, ash and mineral energies into the body.]
Rohan’s eyes lit up.
There it was! His Moltenstone Skin gene showed itself once more. But this time, the changes were more severe than with his Evolution Gene. ’I suspect it’s because this is only an absorbed and assimilated gene, not one like my talent that I was born with.’
His Moltenstone Skin gene was primarily focused on his defence back in the Origin Realm, with some decent increases to his overall abilities to boot.
But now, it seemed that its usage had become more broad. Instead of just turning his skin to hardened, molten stone like before, he could absorb and potentially manipulate the Molten element and its related minerals into his body and strengthen far more than just his defence.
’This seems far more useful and overpowered than it originally did in the Origin Realm!’
From his perspective, this was a major shift in his strength. This shift in direction and power in his Molten attribute was more akin to his gene going up several ranks, and a tier or two — if it were to be compared to the Origin Realm’s power system.
’Is this because of Hestia, or a natural side effect of transferring my abilities to the Great System?’ Rohan mused to himself.
’No wonder Hestia still seemed confused even after I told her how we have two centres of power in the Origin Realm to explain my rank being higher than she expected.’
Rohan was beginning to suspect that it wasn’t just because of his rank and tier being combined, but the boost received by his new abilities, or ’skills, as well.
Finally, he moved onto the last additional skill, which was by far the most simple of the three.
