Chapter 135: Chapter 126: Spatial Attribute, Powerful Plant-Type Lifeform

Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue walked shoulder to shoulder across the campus, heading toward the administration building. Passing students cast sidelong glances at them, whispering among themselves.

Ever since the selection tournament rankings were announced, Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue had become the most high-profile duo among Yu City University’s freshmen—aside from the genius class students. One had topped the freshman trial points leaderboard and had now placed second in the selection tournament. The other had seemingly appeared out of nowhere to defeat Du Zhan and Jiang Qingqian, claiming first place in the tournament. Walking together, it was hard for them not to attract attention.

Ji Zhixing’s expression remained calm as he turned a deaf ear to the surrounding murmurs. Xiao Mingyue also looked as natural as ever, her steps light and brisk.

The two entered the administration building and arrived at Yang Man Ni’s office door.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK.

Ji Zhixing raised his hand and rapped on the door.

"Come in," Yang Man Ni’s voice called out from inside.

Ji Zhixing pushed the door open, and they walked in. Yang Man Ni was sitting behind her desk, a few documents spread out in front of her and a pen in her hand. Seeing that her visitors were Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue, she paused for a brief moment before setting down her pen with a smile.

"Oh, it’s you two. What can I do for you? Are you here to exchange your points for treasures? You can just head directly to the school’s Resource Building for that."

"Teacher Yang," Xiao Mingyue said politely. "The resource we want to exchange for is a bit special, and our school doesn’t have it. That’s why we came to you. We wanted to ask if the school might be able to figure something out."

"Special?" Yang Man Ni asked in surprise. "What exactly are you trying to exchange for?"

"We’d like to exchange for the Size Manipulation Genetic Development Potion," Xiao Mingyue replied.

"The Size Manipulation Genetic Development Potion?" Yang Man Ni froze, her gaze snapping toward Ji Zhixing. "Is this for you?

"In the Tier 2 stage, the Size Manipulation genetic ability is at least a five-star quality ability.

"Unless your gene has evolved to Tier 3 and you’re preparing to advance to Tier 4, there’s absolutely no way you’d need this specific genetic development potion."

As she spoke, her expression shifted rapidly, and she stared at Ji Zhixing in utter disbelief. "Don’t tell me your Staff Soldier Stone Monkey gene actually evolved?"

"It did," Ji Zhixing nodded.

He didn’t wait for Yang Man Ni to ask further questions. With a single thought, a phantom image of a stone monkey manifested from his Dantian. The stone monkey was tall, burly, and muscular. Its fur stood on end like steel needles, and its eyes radiated calm confidence. It was none other than the Ten-foot Stone Monkey gene.

Yang Man Ni stared at the stone monkey’s phantom, completely stunned.

"It actually evolved?"

She slowly stood up, her eyes glued to the stone monkey for several seconds. The look on her face was a mix of sheer shock and disbelief. She knew very well that the gene Ji Zhixing had initially fused with was only a Tier 1 gene—and a remarkably weak one at that: the Three-inch Stone Monkey.

Yet, in such a short period of time, Ji Zhixing had managed to evolve his gene consecutively, pushing it from Tier 1 to Tier 2, and then from Tier 2 to Tier 3. Throughout this process, he had even fused with a willow tree gene and managed to evolve that one as well.

"Teacher Yang?" Ji Zhixing called out softly when he noticed her silence.

Yang Man Ni snapped out of her daze, took a deep breath, and sat back down.

"Alright," she nodded, her tone returning to normal. "I’ll handle this for you. Between the two of you, you have five million points. Are you spending all of it on the Size Manipulation Genetic Development Potion?"

"Thank you, Teacher Yang," Xiao Mingyue said. "We’re using all our combined points to exchange for the Size Manipulation Genetic Development Potion."

"Okay." Yang Man Ni typed away on her computer, recording their request. "However, since our school doesn’t stock this specific genetic development potion, we’ll have to source it from elsewhere. It will take some time.

"It shouldn’t be too long, though. It will arrive in a few days."

As soon as she finished speaking, a thought seemingly crossed her mind, and she added, "Also, the Spirit Ruins Treasure Land is opening in two days. Make sure you’re well-prepared.

"Try to secure as many benefits as you can.

"Five-star quality genetic abilities aren’t easy to develop, and your five million points might not even be enough.

"But if you can gather a sufficient haul in the Spirit Ruins Treasure Land and hand it over to the school, you can exchange it for equivalent treasures that you might need."

Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue both nodded. Prompted by a sudden thought, Ji Zhixing asked, "Teacher Yang, in that case, is it possible that I’ll already be inside the Spirit Ruins Treasure Land by the time the Size Manipulation Genetic Development Potion arrives?"

"More than likely," Yang Man Ni nodded, then smiled. "You don’t need to worry, though. Even if you’re inside the Spirit Ruins Treasure Land, the school can still deliver what you need right to you—just like when you were in the Blood Beast Secret Realm.

"This is something only our Yu City University can achieve. Neither Wind City Genetic University nor Yun City Genetic University, whose students will be entering the Spirit Ruins Treasure Land alongside you, are capable of it."

Ji Zhixing nodded, breathing a sigh of relief. At the same time, he couldn’t help but feel curious. He wondered how the school actually managed to pull off such a feat.

"Thank you, Teacher Yang," Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue said in unison.

"Off you go," Yang Man Ni said, waving them off.

The two of them said their goodbyes and left the office.

After the door clicked shut, Yang Man Ni sat behind her desk, staring blankly at Ji Zhixing’s profile on her computer monitor for a long time.

"Tier 3... Ten-foot Stone Monkey..." she muttered to herself, shaking her head.

Back when Ji Zhixing had first come to register, she had even advised him to fuse with a Tier 2 gene and enter the elite class right off the bat. When he insisted on choosing the Tier 1 willow tree gene instead, she had genuinely thought it was a pity.
