Chapter 182 - 155: 15 Million Points
Chapter 182: Chapter 155: 15 Million Points
Twenty minutes later, the two of them spotted a valley shrouded in heavy mist.
It was nestled between a stretch of rolling hills, flanked by steep cliffs, with a wide, open entrance. However, the entire valley was engulfed in a thick layer of white mist, making it completely impossible to see inside from the outside. This was no ordinary fog. It carried an eerie presence, churning slowly within the valley like a flowing liquid or a living, breathing creature.
"This is the place," Ji Zhixing said.
Instead of flying directly in, he stored away the thundercloud and landed in front of the valley with Xiao Mingyue. Upon touching down, Ji Zhixing drew his Thunderous Rod and gripped it tightly.
"Let’s go in and take a look," he whispered.
Xiao Mingyue nodded. A small Flame Spirit Bird had already materialized in her hand, ready to strike at a moment’s notice. They each applied a drop of eye-clearing potion before walking side-by-side into the valley.
The moment they stepped inside, the thick mist swallowed them whole. Visibility dropped to a mere few dozen meters. They were surrounded by a sea of white, unable to clearly make out most of their surroundings. And this was *with* the effects of the eye-clearing potion.
SWISH!
They had barely advanced a dozen meters into the valley when the mist ahead suddenly twisted and warped. As if kneaded by an invisible hand, a cluster of mist rapidly condensed into the shape of a monster. The creature was entirely grayish-white and lacked a fixed physical form, its body constantly contorting and shifting. It thrust out a sharp claw, hurtling straight for Ji Zhixing’s chest with a piercing screech that tore through the air.
"What kind of monster is this?"
Ji Zhixing’s gaze hardened. Without a moment’s hesitation, he executed the Sudden Flash of Lightning move with his Thunderous Rod. He thrust the long rod forward with lightning speed, gathering a bolt of purple-gold electricity at its tip.
CRACKLE!
With a flash of lightning, the mist monster was pierced right through. Purple-gold lightning exploded within the creature’s body, sending arcs of electricity dancing in all directions. The monster let out a shrill shriek, its body violently twisting in the electricity before reverting back into mist and dissipating into thin air.
"Was it really that simple?"
Ji Zhixing frowned slightly, glancing around with heightened vigilance. If it were truly this easy, Lu Xinghe and his group wouldn’t have wasted days stuck here without conquering this Mist Treasure Land.
SWISH! SWISH! SWISH!
Suddenly, the mist all around them began to twist and warp. Clusters of fog rapidly condensed into dozens of monsters of varying shapes and sizes. Like an overwhelming tidal wave, they swarmed toward him from all directions.
"Thunder Prison!"
Ji Zhixing’s expression shifted drastically. He immediately unleashed the Thunder Prison move from his Thunderous Rod Technique. He spun the long rod rapidly in front of him, creating a circular barrier of purple-gold lightning. The intertwining electricity crackled intensely, completely enveloping him and Xiao Mingyue.
The mist monsters slammed into the lightning barrier, instantly erupting into agonizing shrieks. Thunder Power seemed to be their ultimate bane; every monster that crashed into the shield was blasted to pieces by the electricity, reverting back into mist and fading away.
ROAR!
A deafening roar erupted from deep within the valley. The sound was so loud and heavy that it shook the entire area, causing the mist to churn violently. Ji Zhixing’s gaze sharpened as he watched a massive expanse of mist surge together, rapidly forming into a gigantic monster.
The creature was colossal, standing at least a dozen meters tall. Formed entirely of dense mist, it exuded a terrifying, heart-stopping aura. The moment it fully materialized, it reached out a massive hand. Its hook-like fingers swiped viciously at him with unstoppable momentum.
"Thunderous Might!"
Ji Zhixing paled. Not daring to hesitate, he immediately executed the ultimate killing move of the Thunderous Rod Technique. Gripping the rod with both hands, he raised it high above his head and swung it forward with all his might, channeling his entire body’s strength and Thunder Power into the blow.
As the rod swung down, it was as if bolts of lightning followed in its wake. Purple-gold electricity surged from the shaft like a frenzied python, launching a devastating counterattack against the giant claw.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion tore through the air. The lightning collided with the massive claw, erupting into a blinding flash of light. But in a mere instant, the giant monster’s claw effortlessly crushed his lightning strike to pieces! Its speed barely slowed for a fraction of a second before it continued its advance, reaching for him and Xiao Mingyue with even greater ferocity.
"Go!"
Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue’s expressions changed simultaneously. Without missing a beat, they flapped the wings on their backs and shot out of the mist at top speed.
WHOOSH!
After bursting out of the valley, Ji Zhixing glanced back, only to find that the colossal monster had already vanished into the mist. The fog within the valley had returned to its tranquil, slowly churning state, as if nothing had ever happened.
"This place... is definitely not easy to deal with," Ji Zhixing said, still shaken.
"Ji Zhixing!"
Suddenly, a cold shout rang out from behind him. Ji Zhixing turned to see a flash of spatial distortion. A moment later, Lu Xinghe and his three companions appeared just a short distance behind them. The four had clearly just teleported over from the Dead Wood Regeneration Forest, arriving just in time to witness him and Xiao Mingyue fleeing the valley.
The person who had shouted so coldly was none other than Gongye Zhou. He glared at Ji Zhixing, his eyes filled with malicious intent.
"You don’t belong here," Lu Xinghe said, casting a dismissive glance at Ji Zhixing. His flat tone dripped with condescension.
"Alright, we’re leaving."
Hearing Lu Xinghe’s words, Ji Zhixing gave Xiao Mingyue’s hand a gentle tug. With a mere thought, he summoned his Purple Gold Thundercloud. The two of them leaped lightly onto the cloud.
"Let’s go!"
Flapping his Purple Gold Thundercloud Wing in sync with the thundercloud beneath his feet, Ji Zhixing whisked Xiao Mingyue away into the distance. Propelled by the wings, the cloud flew at incredible speeds, covering dozens of meters in the blink of an eye.
It was a bit humiliating to run away, but acting tough when hopelessly outmatched was just plain stupid.
"Think you can just leave?"
Seeing the two of them flee, Gongye Zhou didn’t hesitate for a second. With a beat of the illusory equine wings on his back, he chased straight after them. His speed was astounding. Every flap of his wings carried him a tremendous distance, turning his figure into a streak of silver-white lightning across the sky.
Lu Xinghe stood his ground. He merely spared them a single glance before looking away. He didn’t give chase, nor did he say a word. To him, this was nothing more than a trivial matter not worth his time.
As for Cao Zhenxing and Yu Mengdie, although they desperately wanted to hunt down Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue, there was nothing they could do—neither of them possessed the means to fly.
Standing on the ground, Cao Zhenxing stared at the retreating thundercloud with a dark, brooding expression. He silently vowed that once they left the Spirit Ruins Treasure Land, he would find a way to get his hands on some flying Genetic Equipment.
Yu Mengdie gnashed her teeth, a flash of deep resentment crossing her eyes.
