Chapter 97: Chapter 96: Strength Is Still Very Important, What a Coincidence

Behind them, after hearing Ji Zhixing’s words, Huang Yu froze. He turned to look at Yu Zhirou in shock, his face filled with utter disbelief.

Ji Zhixing had been hunted by Gu Zheng and his group, and Yu Zhirou was the one who revealed his location to them?

A thought flashed through his mind: "No wonder the relationship between Ji Zhixing and Yu Zhirou suddenly soured so much that they don’t even greet each other when they meet."

The others also turned to look at Yu Zhirou, their gazes filled with scrutiny, contempt, and alienation.

Yu Zhirou stood rooted to the spot, her face deathly pale. Her lips trembled slightly as she tried to explain, but she couldn’t utter a single word.

Meanwhile, after Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue left, they sped up and headed in the direction Huang Yu had pointed out.

"I didn’t tell anyone about this before not because I was magnanimous or letting it go, but because I was insignificant back then, and few people would have believed whatever I said," Ji Zhixing thought as they hurried along.

"But now, I’ve joined Yu City University, and I’m ranked fifth on the leaderboard of the Blood Beast Secret Realm, even suppressing Gu Zheng beneath me.

"Now, whatever I say carries a completely different weight."

Ji Zhixing was in a good mood.

He couldn’t do much in the Blood Beast Secret Realm, but getting a little bit of petty revenge felt pretty good.

"What was that just now?" Xiao Mingyue asked him curiously.

Ji Zhixing didn’t hide anything and recounted what had happened back then.

"You were classmates before? And on pretty good terms? Yet when you were being hunted down, she just gave away your location?" After hearing the story, Xiao Mingyue’s face immediately filled with indignation, her fists clenched tight. "That kind of person is despicable!"

"That’s why strength is still crucial in this world," Ji Zhixing said with a smile. "At the time, I had integrated the Tier One Three-inch Stone Monkey gene. No one thought highly of me; they felt I was useless and that I might be stuck at Tier One for the rest of my life.

"So, using my life to curry favor with others probably seemed perfectly justifiable to them."

"I’m so mad!" Xiao Mingyue said indignantly. "If I had known, I would have cursed her out just now."

"You know how to curse people out?" Ji Zhixing looked at her.

Xiao Mingyue immediately waved her hands. "I’m just saying. Just saying."

The two continued forward, keeping an eye on their surroundings as they walked.

As they went, Ji Zhixing suddenly realized that the scenery looked somewhat familiar.

"This is..." He looked around, his eyes lighting up. "We were here the day before yesterday!"

"You’re right." Xiao Mingyue also recognized it. "Not far ahead is the cliff where we camped before."

They sped up and soon arrived at the base of the cliff. To their disappointment, it was empty. Not a single soul could be seen.

Zhou Han, Tie Shan, and Su Qing weren’t here.

"They must have left," Xiao Mingyue sighed.

"Let’s look a bit further ahead," Ji Zhixing said. "Huang Yu mentioned they were in this area an hour ago. They couldn’t have gone too far."

The two continued onward.

Meanwhile, Chen Wenjie and Han Shuang stood on a hill, watching Zhou Han’s trio from a distance.

At this moment, Zhou Han, Tie Shan, and Su Qing were being besieged by two Tier Two Blood Beasts and several Tier One Blood Beasts.

Tie Shan stood at the very front with his shield raised, Zhou Han flanked the enemies to deal damage, and Su Qing stayed in the back, releasing Flame Spirit Butterflies. The battle was intense.

"They’re from Ji Zhixing’s team, right?" Chen Wenjie asked, narrowing his eyes. "It seems Ji Zhixing and that girl aren’t here."

"Yeah," Han Shuang nodded. "It’s just the three of them."

"Should we make a move and kick them out of the secret realm?" Chen Wenjie asked, a ruthless glint flashing in his eyes. "That girl’s cousin is Qin Xiaoran from the senior genius class, so we can’t afford to mess with her. But these three don’t have any background.

"Ji Zhixing is earning so many points every day. Who knows what secret he has? It might just have something to do with their help.

"If we let him keep this up, he might actually pose a threat to us in the future!"

"Attack them?" Han Shuang hesitated.

"Not openly," Chen Wenjie smiled. "But we can figure out a way to lure some Blood Beasts over to besiege them. They’re already hanging by a thread; if more Blood Beasts show up, they definitely won’t be able to handle it!

"Besides, many students at Yu City University hold grudges against each other. Settling scores in the secret realm is perfectly normal, and the teachers won’t interfere."

"That works." Han Shuang nodded upon hearing this. "As long as they don’t know it was us, there won’t be a problem."

After a brief discussion, the two reached a consensus.

As for the other three members of their former team, they had already split up from them.

The reason was that after seeing Ji Zhixing climb to fifth place on the leaderboard, those three felt it was too troublesome. They were afraid of being implicated if they stayed with Chen Wenjie and Han Shuang.

Although the three of them were students from the elite class and Ji Zhixing was only from the regular class, the fact that Ji Zhixing could crush so many genius class students to secure fifth place on the leaderboard meant he definitely had some tricks up his sleeve.

The three all felt it was better not to gamble if they didn’t have to.

"In that case, let’s go lure those Blood Wolves over!"

Seeing Han Shuang nod, Chen Wenjie immediately sprang into action with her.

While exploring this area earlier, they had discovered a pack of Blood Wolves. There were a good thirty to forty of them, led by two Tier Two Blood Wolves.

The two moved quickly and soon crept near the pack’s habitat.

"I’ll do it!"

Spotting the Blood Wolves, Chen Wenjie immediately drew his bow and aimed at a Tier One Blood Wolf from a distance.

Both he and Han Shuang had obtained the Earth Spirit Liquid.

Coupled with the fact that they were both elite class students who had integrated Tier Three genes, their combat strength was quite high. Even before joining Yu City University, they had already broken through to Tier Two.

SWISH!

Chen Wenjie loosed his arrow, killing the Blood Wolf instantly.

HOWL!

Seeing their companion die, the pack of Blood Wolves was enraged. They instantly howled and gave chase.

"Let’s go!"

Seeing the Blood Wolves charging toward them, Chen Wenjie and Han Shuang quickly sprinted forward.

The direction they ran in was exactly where Zhou Han’s trio was fighting.

"Almost there!"

When they were only a few hundred meters away from Zhou Han’s trio, the two ducked behind a relatively large rock and swiftly pulled out a massive, tattered cloth.

It was unclear what material the cloth was made of, but it felt soft and smooth to the touch. Leaning against the rock, they draped the cloth over themselves.

Immediately, the cloth began to shift. Its color, texture, and feel all changed to match the surrounding rocks perfectly. Even its edges blended seamlessly into the rock’s contours, leaving no visible flaws.

When the Blood Wolves ran past, they heard the sounds of battle in the distance. Without pausing for even a moment, they rushed madly toward the noise.

Thirty to forty Blood Wolves surged forward like a tidal wave.

"Crap! More Blood Beasts are coming!"

Zhou Han had just slain a Tier One Iron Armor Blood Beast when he was instantly entangled by the Tier Two Blood Beast he had been fighting earlier. Hearing the sudden wolf howls from afar, he turned his head, and his expression drastically changed.

Thirty to forty Blood Wolves were charging down the hillside, heading straight for them.

The two leading wolves were exceptionally large, their bodies dark red and their eyes glinting with a bloody light. It was obvious at a glance that they were Tier Two Blood Wolves.

"Where did all these Blood Wolves come from?!"

Tie Shan saw them too, nearly dropping his shield in shock.

They could still hold their ground against the current siege of Blood Beasts, and might even pull off a counter-kill. But with dozens of Blood Wolves suddenly showing up, there was no way the three of them could withstand the onslaught.

Furthermore, given the speed of these Blood Wolves, they obviously couldn’t escape.

Zhou Han might be able to get away, but Tie Shan and Su Qing were slower; they could never outrun those Blood Wolves.

"You go first, Zhou Han!" Tie Shan shouted without looking back as he swung his shield to block several Blood Beasts. "If you can leave, do it!"

"Yeah, you go first!" Su Qing chimed in.

"Damn it, if we were actually going to die, I’d definitely leave and ignore you two," Zhou Han cursed. "But the worst-case scenario right now is just getting kicked out of the secret realm! Why the hell would I leave?

"Kill! Take down as many as we can!"

He roared at the top of his lungs.

Then, he swiftly swung his blade, re-engaging the Blood Beast in front of him.

"There are sounds of fighting!"

"It sounds like Zhou Han!"

At the same time, Ji Zhixing and Xiao Mingyue, who had been searching for Zhou Han’s trio to no avail for quite a while, faintly heard battle cries from the distance, and their eyes lit up.

"Over there!" Xiao Mingyue pointed in the direction of the noise.

The two instantly picked up their pace and dashed forward.

As he ran, Ji Zhixing activated his Fallen Feather Moon-Treading Boots.

From beneath the soles, illusory grayish-black crow feathers fluttered out, buoying his body and granting him astonishing speed. Yet, every step he took was completely silent, as if he were treading on cotton.

The boots Xiao Mingyue wore were clearly no ordinary items either. Her speed was no slower than his, and she was equally soundless.

Meanwhile, up ahead, behind that massive rock.

Chen Wenjie and Han Shuang hid under their camouflage cloth, observing the battle through a small gap in the lifted fabric.

"It’s about time," Chen Wenjie said, a smirk forming on his lips. "With their backs to that cliff, they can barely hold on for a bit, but they definitely won’t last long."

"Yeah," Han Shuang nodded. "It’s a pity that when those Blood Wolves charged down, they actually started fighting the Iron Armor Blood Beasts first. Otherwise, the three of them would have already been teleported out of the secret realm by now."

"It’s not a big deal. They’ve been fighting for so long that they must be completely exhausted. It definitely won’t be long before they give up," Chen Wenjie chuckled.

"Yeah." Han Shuang nodded in agreement and added, "Let’s go. There’s no point in watching anymore; there’s no need to stay here."

"Alright!" Chen Wenjie replied.

Following that, the two carefully and cautiously shifted the tattered cloth, gradually moving it from the front to the back of the rock.

Only when they were fully behind the rock did they lift the cloth, preparing to leave the area immediately to avoid any accidents or being discovered by Zhou Han and the others.

"Huh?"

However, the moment they lifted the cloth, stepped out, and stood up, they saw two figures darting silently toward them from ahead.

And those figures were already less than a dozen meters away from them.

"Ji... Zhixing?"
