It’s not like I have no idea how it actually works.

Maybe everyone does it differently!

Even if it was too fast, I’d let it slide. The point is, I’m just totally spineless—I don’t even dislike it a little.

I don’t resist it at all.

Leaning against the front door, I force myself to calm down.

What I was thinking isn’t wrong either—if it’s a teenage school romance, of course it’s that slow, step-by-step kind of thing.

But Huo Jinyan is an adult, and he’s already a man over thirty.

He’s had relationship experience, so naturally, he’s not going to spend that long hanging in limbo being ambiguous.

He’s the type who prefers to go straight to the point.

If he wasn’t taking into account that I’ve never dated before, if he wasn’t considering my feelings, he would’ve asked for a lot more already.

Instead of doing this, going back to his own place like such a gentleman.

He wouldn’t let me feel like he doesn’t take me seriously.

It’s because he does care that he holds himself back.

After more than ten minutes, I finally cool down.

I lift my hand and stare at the ring on my middle finger, finding it hard to believe that just over an hour ago, it was Huo Jinyan who slipped it onto my finger.

With a few questions nagging at me, I pick up my phone, but then I’m afraid he drove out by himself, so I don’t send him a message.

I’ll just ask him later.

The ring isn’t some especially expensive custom piece, but even if it’s fake and only costs a few dozen yuan, I’d still be over the moon.

First love—what I imagine is really simple, and what I want is simple too.

I don’t realize how bad I look till I go into the bathroom and see myself in the mirror.

My hair is a total mess, and my clothes are loose casual wear, you can’t see any figure at all.

Even though my eyes are a bit brighter from all the relationship excitement, my dark circles and eye bags totally give away that I haven’t slept well.

No wonder Huo Jinyan said that.

I really do look terrible like this.

I knew it wasn’t great, but I didn’t know it was this bad.

Seriously, it’s hard on Huo Jinyan, confessing to me when I look like this.

Right now I really want some time to digest everything, and I also want to find a close friend to share my happiness with.

But even my bestie is abroad right now.

And I can’t exactly tell her I’m dating Huo Jinyan!

She’d probably think I’ve gone crazy or caught some kind of delusional disorder.

Like, secretly fantasizing about my idol.

I honestly regret it, really, really regret it.

If I’d known earlier that I’d accept Huo Jinyan, I should’ve put on some gorgeous makeup today and worn a nice outfit.

That way it’d at least feel like a proper occasion.

Instead I just came as I was, total "whatever, let it all go to hell" mode.

Oh my god!!

What if Huo Jinyan goes home and regrets it too!

Regrets coming over today and seeing me in such a mess.

He’s probably going to regret confessing, right?

"Ahhh!!" I rake my fingers through my hair in frustration.

If only I could turn back time a few hours!

Then at least, in his future memories—

When I accepted his confession, I’d be all delicate and pretty.

At the very least, I’d look put-together.

I decide I’m going to sleep early, go up tomorrow to buy some clothes, then put on proper makeup in the afternoon, so I can go to the movies with Huo Jinyan in the evening.

Though I don’t even know if he’ll ask me out tomorrow.

What if he was just saying it casually?

I start feeling uncertain again, a little nervous and on edge.
