Genius Playground
Chapter 373 The End of the World 4
Jiang Ran offered a well-intentioned reminder:
“Voice your opinions, have your discussion, but don’t get so worked up that you scare Professor Noah off.”
This was exactly the kind of situation Jiang Ran feared the most.
They had finally gotten this rare chance to see Professor Noah. If this guy’s righteous indignation made him berate Noah until he stormed out, it would be a disaster.
“Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing.”
The brother from the Northeast adjusted his collar, looking like he was gearing up for a fight. He looked at Jiang Ran.
“Bro, what’s your name?”
“I’m Jiang Ran. You?”
“My name is Tang Hu… Say, Jiang Ran, what year were you born?”
“I was born in ’06,” Jiang Ran said bluntly.
“Then I’m older than you.” Tang Hu waved his hand grandly.
“From now on, you can just call me Brother Hu.”
“…”
Jiang Ran pressed his lips into a tight line.
“…Fine.”
He resignedly accepted the nickname.
Before long, the tiered lecture hall, which could hold several hundred people, was completely full. Many students, drawn by his reputation, even sat on the floor, eagerly awaiting Professor Noah’s lecture.
Soon, Professor Noah walked onto the multimedia stage, accompanied by a female assistant, and the entire hall erupted in thunderous applause.
Jiang Ran looked the not-so-old professor up and down. He looked to be only in his early forties, about the same age as Teacher Zhang Yang.
But a genius is a genius, after all. His current stage and status were far beyond anything Teacher Zhang Yang could compare to.
There’s a saying that goes: in the world of geniuses, there are no late bloomers.
Throughout history, from Newton and Gauss to the AI geniuses currently taking the world by storm… they all achieved fame at a young age. There was absolutely no such thing as “biding one’s time.”
That phrase is merely a consolation for ordinary people who persevere. Those three words don’t exist in a genius’s dictionary, nor are they needed.
‘Nose… Correct.’
‘Facial features… A match.’
‘Expression… Consistent.’
Jiang Ran compared the high-spirited Professor Noah before him with the elderly Pompey from the Virtual Digital World and confirmed they were the same person.
‘Who would’ve thought.’
‘To think I found a member of the Genius Playground so easily!’
But there was nothing to be proud of. He was using a “cheat,” getting intelligence directly from 20 years in the future.
In twenty years, Professor Noah would have long since won the game of the Genius Playground. So, he didn’t hide anything, nor did he need to… The game would be over, the winner decided, and he’d naturally have no more reservations.
But what Professor Noah could never have expected was that a “bug” like Jiang Ran, who could travel through time, existed in the world, leading to his true identity being exposed.
This was Noah’s misfortune, and at the same time, his good fortune.
If Jiang Ran hadn’t traveled through time, human civilization really would have been destroyed at the hands of Professor Noah, reaching its end on September 17, 2045.
But now…
Jiang Ran was going to turn this misguided future around!
Onstage, a female assistant opened the PowerPoint presentation, ready to advance the slides for him. Professor Noah picked up the microphone, faced the students in the lecture hall, and offered a slight smile.
“Good afternoon, everyone. I’m Noah, and it’s a pleasure to be here with you.”
Thunderous applause erupted.
Tang Hu, beside Jiang Ran, was probably the only person in the entire hall not clapping. He even glared at Jiang Ran, his eyes full of scorn, as if looking at a traitor.
This made Jiang Ran a bit embarrassed, and he immediately reduced the force of his clapping by 73.31%.
Onstage, Professor Noah waved to the students. After the applause died down, he began to speak.
“Today’s lecture will cover two main areas.”
“First, Consciousness Upload technology.”
“And second… the construction of a new form of human society!”
