Genius Playground
Chapter 379: Battle of Switzerland
“I have Lilith now, too. Are you sure you can catch me?”
Then, he took a deep breath and looked at the long-awaited phone screen.
“Lilith!”
BOOM!!!!!!!!
An earth-shattering explosion ripped through the air! The rustic yet luxurious villa instantly became a massive fireball. Debris and rubble flew in every direction as the aftershock flattened the entire estate!
RUMBLE… RUMBLE… RUMBLE… RUMBLE…
The echoes of the explosion lingered in the Alps Valley. Scattered flames, quickly extinguished by the freezing air, gave way to thick, black smoke.
Two bodies were thrown far by the blast.
Noah’s body plunged into a snowdrift. Fang Ze’s body was blown in two; one half was gone, while his upper torso rolled dozens of meters away. His scorched skin melted the surrounding snow, which quickly froze over again.
CRUNCH, CRUNCH, CRUNCH.
A woman in snow boots approached slowly, her steps crunching in the snow. Wearing goggles, she looked down imperiously at what was left of Fang Ze’s body.
“I already told you…”
Her voice was soft. She turned her wrist over, looking at the ended call on the screen.
“Everything you’ve ever learned, I taught you… How could I not keep an ace up my sleeve? That news about Zhou Xiong having the Princess Coin… who do you think leaked it?”
She lifted her snow boot and ground it into the corpse’s tightly clenched right fist, forcing it open.
In his palm, he still clutched the glittering gold Puppet Coin.
“Dead, and still clutching it so tightly. Desire truly is a difficult thing to overcome… To be honest, I was always quite pleased with you.”
The woman took a deep breath.
“Lilith.”
“I’m here! My beautiful Miss Witch, what are your orders?”
“Destroy this Puppet Coin.”
“Understood! Executing now!”
The moment Lilith finished speaking, the Puppet Coin in Fang Ze’s hand suddenly grew intensely hot. As its internal power supply short-circuited, its center glowed red and then burst into flames.
The Witch quietly watched the flame in Fang Ze’s palm, saying nothing.
“Miss Witch…”
Lilith’s voice came from the phone, sounding cautious.
“You seem… a little sad. Is there anything I can do?”
“Bury this place.”
The woman tilted her head back, gazing at the vast snowfields on the Alps.
“Trigger an avalanche. Bury everything here.”
“This command will cost over 10 million points, so I must confirm the order with you.”
Lilith’s voice became serious.
“Triggering an avalanche at the entrance to this region of the Alps will cost a total of 49 million points. Also, according to the game rules, this action must be announced to all members of the Genius Playground system. Do you confirm?”
“Confirm.”
The Witch answered without hesitation.
“Once this coin burns out, the announcement of Puppet’s elimination will be sent to everyone. I want them all to know… that I killed Puppet.”
SCREECH—
SCREECH—
SCREECH—
Switzerland. The northern region of the Alps. At a secret military base, missile silo hatches began to slide open.
“This is bad! What’s happening?!”
Chaos erupted throughout the military base.
“Why are the missile silos opening! There were no orders!”
“Sir! We’ve lost control!”
Inside the control room, alarms blared and lights flashed. Soldiers watched in despair as all twelve missile silos opened, completely powerless to stop it.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM!
As everyone watched, twelve missiles shot straight toward the heavens. Simultaneously, air defense alarms in neighboring countries erupted in a chaotic frenzy.
But the twelve missiles didn’t fly toward other countries. Instead, in perfect unison, they formed a single line in the sky, adjusted their trajectory, and headed toward the Interlaken region of the Alps.
All access at the military base was denied, but the missiles moved as if under precise remote control, constantly adjusting their spacing. They slammed into the Alps in a rapid, successive bombardment at a frequency that defied comprehension.
BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM… The twelve missiles struck different areas, but their exquisitely timed detonations created a cascading resonance effect in the mountains, finally causing the vast snowpack to give way. An avalanche, roaring like a flood, thundered down toward the base of the Alps.
The forest… was buried by the avalanche.
The estate… was buried by the avalanche.
The bodies… were buried by the avalanche.
The burnt-out Puppet Coin… was buried by the avalanche.
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
BEEP!
All over the world, seven phones in different locations simultaneously received a push notification—
[No.8-PUPPET is out!]
(No. 8 Puppet has been eliminated!)
Immediately after that notification, another message popped up—
[No. 9 Witch has spent 49,000,000 points to activate 12 medium-range missiles from a northern Swiss military base, striking the Interlaken region of the Alps and triggering an avalanche!]
