Getting $10 Million From My First Sign-In
Chapter 47: Sun From the West
This scene happened so fast that even the trained police officers were stunned.
The situation was exactly this: the suspect was hiding deep in the aisles of the convenience store, holding a little girl and the female clerk hostage at knifepoint. The armed police couldn’t just go in, and it wasn’t easy for the SWAT snipers to aim through the cluttered window displays. Captain Reed’s original idea was to carefully lure the suspect out first.
At this critical moment, Jude Lawson actually rushed in, unexpected by everyone in the plaza...
The suspect cursed upon seeing Jude, but suddenly let out a horrific scream.
Then, a chilling sound of bones breaking could be clearly heard from inside the store.
*Bam!*
Suddenly, an adult man flew out of the convenience store, breaking the door open, and landed in front of the police barricade like a dead dog.
Everyone in the plaza was stunned, watching him fall to the ground.
Captain Reed reacted quickly, drawing her service gun and sternly shouting, "Don’t move!"
Her worry was unnecessary...
The person couldn’t move at all; his knife hand was clearly broken.
The jagged bone had actually pierced the skin, seemingly snapped by someone with terrifying strength.
Everyone in the crowd was frightened pale. It was absolutely terrifying!
The police rushed forward and handcuffed the suspect to the pavement.
Just then, Jude Lawson walked out of the shattered doors holding a little girl, followed closely by a pale-faced convenience store clerk.
The hostages were unharmed.
Everyone collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
Jude Lawson was amazing, rushing in and taking down the armed suspect in such an incredibly short time, not giving the suspect any chance whatsoever to react!
Especially the police, the trained tactical professionals, they knew exactly how difficult this maneuver was...
For a long moment, they looked at Jude as if he were a literal deity.
This young billionaire was incredible, handling such a formidable person barehanded in the absolute blink of an eye!
"Hey, isn’t this the Wall Street vulture who just bought out Apex Media?"
"The corporate raider?!"
"It’s him!"
The wealthy residents and rival executives of the commercial community recognized Jude at this moment and started discussing in surprise.
Jude brought the little girl in front of the elderly Auntie, who was emotionally overwhelmed and had fainted just now, but had now been resuscitated by paramedics.
Seeing the little girl safely rescued from the knife, she was overjoyed.
First thing, the Auntie checked the little girl over. Finding her unharmed, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Immediately, the elderly Auntie knelt down on the pavement before Jude.
"Young man, thank you so much for saving my granddaughter, really, truly thank you. Juan’er, thank your savior quickly," the Auntie said gratefully through her tears.
The little girl sniffled and said, "Thank you, mister."
Jude smiled warmly. "No need to thank me, I was just passing by, it was just a small lift."
The police officers were instantly drenched in sweat; *just a small lift?!*
He really thought anyone could do it, he was far too casual!
How could this billionaire leave them any tactical face?!
"Sister Fang, what exactly happened here?"
At this moment, a voice spoke from the crowd.
It was Victoria Vance, the Senior Legal Counsel for Apex Media, holding a box of files, coming over with a surprised look.
Sister Fang held Victoria’s hand with immense gratitude, "Victoria, Juan’er was kidnapped by a criminal just now, and it was entirely thanks to your new CEO who bravely saved her! Your CEO is so incredibly good and really impressive, Apex Media is extremely lucky to have such a good, noble leader!"
The commercial community’s elite residents also praised without ceasing...
"Such a good, brave young man!"
"Really envy Victoria! Apex Media has great vision, finding such a capable CEO!"
Everyone in the plaza gave a thumbs-up to Jude Lawson.
Victoria was stunned.
Did she actually hear correctly?
Everyone in the elite plaza was praising him, praising him until she felt a bit elated and proud.
Jude was supposed to be the shame of their studio, how did he suddenly seem to become their greatest pride?
"Counselor Vance, what a coincidence. Let me do it."
Jude chuckled, taking the box of legal files from Victoria’s hands and tucking it under his arm.
"Captain Reed, if there’s nothing else you need from me for the report, I’ll go back to the boardroom and get to work first."
Jude said to the police nearby, then turned his shoulders and said, "Counselor Vance, it’s a bit of a walk back to the executive tower, shall I give you an escort?"
Hearing the elite neighbors say this, Victoria couldn’t possibly refuse Jude’s polite offer...
If she declined, wouldn’t it instantly make her seem ungrateful, refusing such a good leader?
The wealthy neighbors would criticize her endlessly.
She didn’t say much, just walked proudly by his side.
Jude quickly set a steady pace, leaving the crime scene.
He had to leave quickly; Captain Reed was still on the scene. He didn’t want to explain his terrifying strength so much to the SWAT commander.
Earlier, Captain Reed was busy handling the suspect.
Now that the suspect had been securely taken away by the armored police car, Captain Reed finally found time to come and see Jude.
She saw Jude already walking far away, leaving only his broad silhouette.
Meanwhile, Jude escorted Victoria Vance, walking back to the estate.
Jude walked through the doors downstairs, carrying the box of files, and headed toward the private executive elevators with Victoria.
At this exact moment, Harper just returned from a meeting, driving her vintage car into the VIP garage.
She saw this scene through the lobby, and was stunned, thinking she was seeing things.
She didn’t see wrongly!
Her senior legal counsel actually returned happily to the office walking alongside Jude Lawson?!
Wasn’t Victoria always very much strictly against Jude’s methods? Did the sun actually rise from the west today?
