The little girl hesitated for a moment, then nodded, and continued speaking: "Alright."

It was evident that she had already let down her guard against Wang Zhan, and immediately she held Wang Zhan’s hand and followed him down the mountain.

Wang Zhan looked at the little girl in front of him, feeling a bit bitter inside. The little girl seemed not very old, probably just seven or eight years old. Yet under these circumstances, it was evident that she experienced some dehumanizing moments or saw her loved ones killed by others, hence her wariness towards everyone.

In no time, Wang Zhan and the girl arrived at the core area of the fifth war zone, and Luo Xue’s gaze fell inside a house, sensing that Luo Xue was sitting inside.

Seemingly hearing the noise outside, Luo Xue snapped back to reality and walked out of the room, his gaze landing on Wang Zhan, and he began speaking softly: "Brother Wang, how come you went out and brought back a kid? What is her status? Why is she by your side?"

The little girl instinctively hid behind Wang Zhan as if wary of everyone. She seemed to have relaxed her vigilance towards Wang Zhan, even treating him as her lifeline.

Wang Zhan gently patted the little girl’s head, showing a faint smile, and laughed as he spoke: "I just went up the mountain to check if there were any survivors nearby, unexpectedly I encountered her, so I brought her back."

"But this little girl seems quite wary of me. I initially wanted to let you guide her well, but she seems to have relaxed her guard towards me now, still wary of others..."

Luo Xue walked up to the little girl, crouched down, and his gaze fell on her, he then slowly asked: "Are you also from the fifth war zone?"

The little girl nodded, then continued speaking: "Yes, I am also from the fifth war zone, and have lived here since childhood, but some changes have occurred, making me scared, hence I dare not contact anyone. Hearing your query, are you also from the fifth war zone?"

Wang Zhan and Luo Xue exchanged glances, yet Wang Zhan did not know how to respond to this matter. He wasn’t originally from the fifth war zone, nor stayed long, but helped the fifth war zone people significantly. If it wasn’t for his decisive actions then, the fifth war zone would possibly have ceased to exist.

Beside him, Luo Xue nodded firmly and said: "I am born and raised in the fifth war zone but later followed Brother Wang to higher areas, hence left the fifth war zone. I intended to return this time for a reunion, but unexpectedly found this place already in ruins, not knowing what happened, even my friends..."

As he spoke the last words, Luo Xue’s eyes moistened, and the girl beside him walked up, softly lifted her hand, wiped the corner of Luo Xue’s eye, and spoke: "Don’t cry, sister. Let bygones be bygones. I’ve been pondering over this and it’s been a nightmare for me. Previously, I lived alone in the mountains, which was more terrifying."

"Fortunately, the ordeal is somewhat over, and I’ve made it till now. Now I’ve met you, hopefully I won’t need to be afraid anymore, nor worry about those demonic beasts and beasts. With you two by my side, surely, I’ll be protected, right?"

Looking at the girl’s innocent demeanor, Wang Zhan nodded, continued speaking: "Don’t worry, encountering here is fate, we wouldn’t easily abandon you, just stay by our side."

The girl nodded firmly, then continued speaking: "I remember your words, in the future, I’ll stay by brother and sister’s side, rest assured, I will not trouble you. If you need anything, let me handle it; I’ve learned cooking since childhood, so if needed, I can cook daily for you, as a small contribution."

Wang Zhan showed a faint smile, seeing the adorable girl, how could he let her cook?

Moreover, in the Sky Pavilion, there are many skillful individuals, and everything is well-managed, so she doesn’t need to do trivial tasks, just grow well there.

Thinking of this, Wang Zhan glanced at Luo Xue, unsure how to persuade him to leave with him. Wang Zhan worried about Luo Xue’s mood, but with the girl’s presence, Luo Xue’s attitude seemed transformed, even his gaze shifted, Wang Zhan laughed: "Since resolved, shall we head back soon to settle her? What do you think?"

Luo Xue nodded, directly held the girl’s hand, and laughed: "Sure, follow Brother Wang’s lead. I’ve found family, feeling much better now, so don’t worry."

"Brother Wang, shall we depart now?"

Wang Zhan nodded, held the girl’s hand, soared skyward, heading far, and behind him, Luo Xue kept pace, the group swiftly left the fifth war zone.

As they departed, remaining demonic beasts in the fifth war zone exhaled deeply. They didn’t know Wang Zhan’s terrifying strength but realized his actions against demonic beasts, sensing his intimidating air, striking like lightning, thus not his match.

Now, with Wang Zhan gone, it benefits them, easing their worries, allowing survival in the fifth war zone.

Meanwhile, Wang Zhan’s group hurried, reaching a new area soon, yet still distant from Sky Pavilion. Just Wang Zhan and Luo Xue could go continuously, reaching quick, but with the girl, they tended to her emotions.

Scanning around, the area had a new defense line with many people. Though not as vast as Ten Thousand Sword City, still spacious, open to outsiders. Wang Zhan’s group walked in.

On the way, Wang Zhan glanced at the girl, then asked: "We’ve traveled for some time, yet I don’t know your name, so what’s your name?"

"I am Li Xiaomei, you can call me Xiaomei. My family called me that. I’ll call you Brother Wang, as I heard sister calling you."

Li Xiaomei was smart and cute, her gaze fixed on Wang Zhan, occasionally blinking, Wang Zhan smiled, didn’t say more.

During their chat, they reached the defense line. Entering, Li Xiaomei swallowed, eyeing roadside food, her gaze shifting, but Wang Zhan noticed.

"Stopped here for you to eat, replenish," Wang Zhan smiled at Xiaomei and spoke: "Choose freely inside, say what you like, no need for formality, we can afford."

Li Xiaomei nodded heavily, feeling a bit uneasy, just joined Wang Zhan and Luo Xue, offering no help, yet wanting food, feeling guilty.

But hearing Wang Zhan, she decided to eat soon, having gone days without a proper meal. Months eating mountain fruits, thankfully beasts ignored them, else she’d starve.

When Xiaomei approached a stall, the man there glanced coldly, annoyed, and said: "Scram!"

"Don’t interrupt my business."
