Chapter 617. Ten Million Years of Accumulation, Lu Yuan's Confidence

Lu Yuan had planned this from the beginning, but he first needed to wait for Zhu Qingyu to finish her task.

Another day passed.

Zhu Qingyu, Ice Fairy, and the others arrived on Jade Emperor Peak, along with a group of Jiang Clan disciples led by Jiang Ningxian. There were nearly fifty people in total.

Almost all had reached the Immortal Realm, and every one of them possessed considerable talent and potential.

They were the core of the Celestial Court and would eventually become its pillars. How far the Milky Way Starfield could develop in the future would also depend upon them.

If they survived the coming crisis and Lu Yuan eventually left, these were the people who would take charge of the Celestial Court.

Lu Yuan did not know how far they would lead it, nor did that concern him greatly. He had established the Celestial Court to protect more people. If that goal was fulfilled, he would consider his work a success.

Power over the Celestial Court had never held any appeal for him.

"You should all know why I summoned you."

Lu Yuan rose, his expression turning solemn. "The great calamity is approaching. Even setting aside the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons, we have not completely destroyed the Ji Clan or the Eternals. Their reserves run deep, and both factions still have Supreme Immortal Starfield Lords. They remain among the strongest forces in the universe."

"There is still much we must do, and we must continue growing stronger. You are the people I have chosen, but this is no blessing. It is a responsibility. In the future, you will have to carry the Celestial Court on your own."

Lu Yuan made the stakes clear. The Great Age's Providence would help them achieve more in their cultivation, but it also came with a duty. At a critical moment, they might be required to sacrifice their lives.

He had to tell them this beforehand and make certain they understood.

Resolve filled the eyes of everyone present, including the Jiang Clan disciples.

Zhu Qingyu stepped forward. "King Lu, we've always known what we must do and what responsibilities we must bear. We're prepared to risk our lives for them. The Celestial Court was established to protect more people and ordinary citizens. We've always understood that purpose, and we'll continue to uphold it."

They had known Lu Yuan's purpose from the beginning. Whether they belonged to the Celestial Court or the Jiang Clan, their goals were aligned. Otherwise, the Jiang Clan would never have continued working with the Celestial Court.

Zhu Qingyu had spoken for all of them.

Lu Yuan looked at their determined expressions and nodded. Without saying anything more, he sat down cross-legged and gave them one final instruction.

"I will now bestow one strand of Great Age's Providence upon each of you. Once it enters you, there is only one thing you need to do. Devote everything to refining it. How much you gain will depend on you."

Zhu Qingyu and the others nodded solemnly.

Lu Yuan turned to Jiang Ningxian. She nodded and left. For now, he would bestow the Great Age's Providence only upon this group. Jiang Ningxian could receive hers later.

Lu Yuan took a deep breath. Strands of purple aura slowly emerged around him.

He raised a hand, and the Great Age's Providence appeared. Under his control, the strands shot into everyone present.

Zhu Qingyu and the others immediately sensed a vast and overwhelming power. Purple aura surged around them, and their very presence began to change.

They instinctively understood that refining the Great Age's Providence would bring them tremendous benefits.

No one hesitated. They sat down cross-legged and began refining it.

Lu Yuan remained beside them to observe their condition.

He knew the Great Age's Providence was unlikely to harm them, but accidents were always possible. He stayed to guard against every potential problem, something his strength allowed him to do.

As time passed, everyone entered a deeper state of refinement. Their auras changed completely under the influence of the Great Age's Providence, and powerful energy stirred around them.

No one broke through their current realm, but Lu Yuan could clearly sense that every aspect of their potential had improved.

The Great Age's Providence did not grant immediate, visible gains. However, once fully refined, it would make their future paths of cultivation far smoother.

A smile appeared on Lu Yuan's face.

Some of these people might originally have been limited to the Grotto-Heaven Immortal Realm. With the Great Age's Providence, their potential had risen enough for them to become Creation Immortals or even Celestial Seat Immortals.

This was the true value of the Great Age's Providence. It did not grant strength directly, but its long-term benefits were even greater.

Lu Yuan then began wondering what would happen when he bestowed the largest portion of Great Age's Providence upon the Investiture Edict. He was eager to see the result.

That power had been nurtured for an immense span of time. It had not appeared from nothing. The sages of antiquity had begun making arrangements for it when they chose to seal Earth.

Earth itself was extraordinary and possessed exceptionally deep reserves. Those reserves had been suppressed and accumulated for countless years. When they finally erupted, no one knew how much power they would display. Even Lu Yuan could not imagine it.

One thing was certain. The Great Age's Providence might become the reason the Celestial Court could continue rising in the future.

Lu Yuan had not kept it for himself because he did not need it yet. Given enough time, he could reach terrifying heights through his own strength without relying on external power.

Becoming a Supreme Immortal would pose no problem. Even surpassing the Immortal Realm was well within his reach.

That was Lu Yuan's confidence.
