Chapter 620. Bestowing the Great Age's Providence, Two Providences Intertwine

Lu Yuan had always looked forward to using the largest portion of the Great Age's Providence.

Almost everyone who received one of the smaller strands had gained tremendous benefits. Yet those strands were insignificant beside the largest portion, where the true power of the Great Age's Providence lay.

Lu Yuan was certain that bestowing it upon a single person would transform that person's fate and propel them to extraordinary heights in a single step.

This was not wishful thinking. It would truly happen.

Bestowing it upon the entire Celestial Court would be different. The effect on each individual would be weaker, and other changes might occur.

Lu Yuan did not care. His goal was not to create only a handful of experts, but to strengthen the Celestial Court as a whole.

Only then would the Celestial Court remain strong after the crisis of the Extracosmic Heavenly Demons had been resolved.

That was why Lu Yuan had never considered keeping the largest portion for himself. Every decision he made was intended to secure the future.

"Let's see what effect it has."

Lu Yuan set aside his thoughts and focused. Within his mind, the Investiture Edict shone with radiant light. The Innate Spirit and the Celestial Emperor's Ancient Token rested beneath the Bodhi Tree.

With a thought, he drew the Great Age's Providence into his inner world.

Since entering the Celestial Seat Immortal Realm, the space within Lu Yuan's mind had expanded into a vast world containing the Bodhi Tree, the Innate Spirit, and the Investiture Edict.

Now the Great Age's Providence had joined them, and several immense powers stirred within that world.

An ordinary Celestial Seat Immortal would have found it extremely difficult to keep all these forces balanced. For Lu Yuan, this posed no great problem.

Once he had prepared himself, Lu Yuan took a deep breath and mobilized his power, guiding the Great Age's Providence toward the Investiture Edict.

The edict represented the Celestial Court. Once it fused with the Great Age's Providence, that power would be bestowed upon the entire organization. Everyone whose true name was written upon the edict would benefit.

Lu Yuan's goal was simple. He wanted everyone in the Celestial Court to advance by an entire stage. Only then would they be prepared to face the future crisis.

The Great Age's Providence transformed into a purple true dragon and raced through his inner world. Under Lu Yuan's control, it plunged into the Investiture Edict.

Rumble!

A tremendous roar erupted throughout Lu Yuan's inner world.

The Nine Tripod Cauldrons within the Investiture Edict manifested, releasing a vast torrent of Providence that intertwined with the Great Age's Providence.

The collision between the two forms of Providence unleashed a terrifying force. The longer they clashed, the more violent that force became, until even Lu Yuan felt the pressure.

His inner world was an extension of his divine sense. After being strengthened by the Bodhi Tree, Lu Yuan's divine sense had reached an almost inconceivable level and was even more formidable than his physique.

Even when an opponent surpassed him physically, Lu Yuan still held an overwhelming advantage in any clash of divine sense or soul. Until now, no one had truly threatened him in that regard.

Yet as the two forms of Providence intertwined, Lu Yuan felt a genuine sense of danger, as though his soul could not withstand the strain.

He had anticipated this. The process was never going to be effortless. Even Jiang Ningxian, Zhu Qingyu, and the others had needed time to refine far smaller strands of Great Age's Providence.

Lu Yuan now faced its largest and most powerful portion. He could not afford to be careless.

He focused all his attention as his vital qi began to surge. Beneath the Bodhi Tree, the Innate Spirit sat cross-legged and released brilliant golden light.

Lu Yuan had mobilized all the power at his disposal.

He needed to suppress the two forms of Providence, guide them together, and fuse the Great Age's Providence completely with the Investiture Edict.

Only then would its power be bestowed upon the Celestial Court.

This had been Lu Yuan's plan from the beginning. He used every method available to him, even drawing upon the Bodhi Tree.

Buzz, buzz, buzz.

The Innate Spirit remained seated as the Bodhi Tree swayed gently.

The two forms of Providence, which had grown increasingly violent as they intertwined, gradually softened and began to merge. Lu Yuan relaxed slightly.

He had worried that despite his efforts, the two fundamentally different powers might erupt with even greater force. If that happened, continuing to suppress them would be impossible.

This was Providence, a force connected to heaven and earth and, by extension, the universe itself. Powerful as Lu Yuan was, even after reaching the Celestial Seat Immortal Realm, he could not suppress such a force through strength alone.

He had confidence in himself, but he could not suppress an entire universe.

Only a legendary Human Sovereign Celestial Emperor might possess such power.

From the beginning, Lu Yuan had never been certain this would succeed. He had only believed the method was feasible.

Now he could finally breathe easier.

Although the two forms of Providence came from different sources, they shared many underlying similarities. After Lu Yuan suppressed them for a time, the two powers began to merge.

The true dragon formed from the Great Age's Providence dissolved into specks of purple light that settled upon the Investiture Edict.

A smile appeared on Lu Yuan's face. He knew he had succeeded.

Fully refining the Great Age's Providence would still take time. Its power was simply too vast to merge completely with the Investiture Edict, or more accurately, the Celestial Court, without considerable effort.

Lu Yuan was not worried. Success was now only a matter of time. All he had to do was wait.
