Global Dungeon: I Can See the Status Bar
Chapter 654 - 300: No Hidden Trolls, Keep the Generous Compensation Coming
After satisfying his curiosity and chatting with the Confucian Scholar for a bit, Lu Wenwu finally returned to his long-missed home.
He had a feeling that he had forgotten to do something, but he couldn’t quite remember what it was.
Just as he was about to open the door, Lu Wenwu suddenly felt some itch on his head.
He reached out to scratch it and realized.
Oh no, his brain had grown back!
After the battle, he chatted with the Confucian Scholar and completely forgot about putting his brain back in.
And then he forgot to suppress his recovery ability, so now everything has restored back to normal!
Looking at his personal backpack where his own brain was, Lu Wenwu fell into deep thought for a moment.
Finally, he sighed deeply and kicked open his front door.
The brain and stuff, might as well leave it there as a keepsake.
"Xiaobao, I’m back!"
The little kitten, lying on the cat tree with paws tucked under its chin, sleepily raised its head and gave a very disdainful look. It sat up, yawning, and closed its eyes to lick its paws and wash its face.
When someone eagerly stretched out their hand and rushed over, the little kitten deftly evaded the embrace that was akin to a tiger pounce.
Its furry little paw precisely poked the person’s face, full of firm refusal in its eyes.
At the same time, its big fluffy tail swayed back and forth, the word "reject" written all over it.
"Oh come on, don’t be like that! There were some unexpected events, and I had to go through a side quest. I definitely won’t suddenly disappear again."
Lu Wenwu cheerfully used both hands, forcibly petting the little cat a few times amidst its struggles, turning the previously smooth and shiny fur into a mess like a bird’s nest.
"Did you eat on time while I was away? Let me check if you’re skinny from hunger."
"Meow!"
The angry little kitten gave Lu Wenwu a bite, taking the chance to escape from the sinister clutches and swiftly huddled atop the cat tree, refusing to come down.
Persistently presenting its backside to Lu Wenwu, its tail wagged even more vigorously.
The tail hitting the cat tree’s support gave out muffled "bang bang bang" sounds.
Mao Mao, resembling a normal-sized dog, stood upright, resting its paws on the cat tree and stuck out its tongue, looking up.
Because it only came out for an attack, carrying the Fire of Huodou, its body was very clean, except for a slight smell of blood.
However, an angry Xiaobao was clearly uninterested in acknowledging it, likewise presenting its backside.
Lu Wenwu laughed heartily, not caring at all about just being bitten by the cat.
Anyone who owns a cat knows this is just a playful gesture when the little cat gets annoyed from being petted too much, using a gentle nibble for fun, very common.
To be honest, it’s also somewhat self-inflicted.
Normally, Xiaobao doesn’t actually mind Lu Wenwu’s superb petting skills, even running over to sleep next to him on the pillow or sometimes curling up on his lap for a nap.
But this guy always wants to pet immediately after coming back from a fight, covered in grime.
The little kitten, being a clean freak, naturally isn’t pleased.
Lu Wenwu: Hehe, I was wrong, and dare to do it again next time!
"Come on, Mao Mao, let’s go take a bath!"
Lu Wenwu called out, whistling cheerfully as he headed to the bathroom.
After experiencing so many worlds, still, home is the most comfortable.
Whether Spirit Heaven Mountain or Water Mansion Dragon Palace, no matter how magnificent, cannot compare to the warmth here.
A home with both cats and dogs, that’s truly home.
Mao Mao tried to poke Xiaobao with its paw from the cat tree.
And got swiped by the little kitten.
Mao Mao pretended to be hurt, patting its paw in grievance and whimpered.
However, while it has become more dog-like following Lu Wenwu, its honest dog acting skills still need improvement over the years.
This imperfect disguise cannot fool the clever little kitten; Xiaobao merely turned around and gave it a contemptuous look.
It didn’t say anything.
Yet it seemed to say everything.
The meaning behind the look was clear: you’re trying to trick a fool here?
Seeing through, Mao Mao immediately dropped the act, joyfully barked twice, and scurried away to join Lu Wenwu for a bath.
As soon as the big and little dogs vanished, the little kitten finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Life isn’t easy, the little kitten sighed.
Nimbly leaping to another broader platform on the cat tree, Xiaobao began to groom its messy fur again.
Luckily, Lu Wenwu’s newly regrown hand, though burnt by flame and thunder, wasn’t dirty, just messed up the previously licked smooth fur.
Otherwise, Xiaobao would definitely have let its owner realize what it means for a little kitten not to be entirely good-natured!
Soon enough, Lu Wenwu and Mao Mao also completed their post-side quest daily routine.
After a nice hot bath, a person, a dog, and a cat nestled in the bedroom’s cozy nook, enjoying the rare peace and slumber.
Even though it wasn’t bedtime yet.
Every time after a side quest, they would immediately follow the routine of petting the cat, getting bitten, taking a bath, and sleeping; this sequence has become a well-established habit for everyone.
Given the cultivation level of Lu Wenwu and Mao Mao, sleep serves merely as a means to relax, sleeping for three days and nights wouldn’t hurt.
As for Xiaobao...
Well, for little kittens, the routine is eat, sleep, sleep a lot; essentially geared towards high-intensity sleep every day.
They slept until the sun climbed high, warming their behinds, when Lu Wenwu finally climbed out of bed, stretching comfortably.
