To be honest, Lu Wenwu was a bit confused.

He had imagined many ways of meeting the God of Magic and had envisioned many appearances for the other party.

But he never thought that the other party wouldn’t even resemble a person now.

This…

This doesn’t match the normal script!

The super strong man who once dominated and was invincible in his era, has now become like this?

Although, after witnessing the choices of numerous strong men in various Dungeon Worlds, Lu Wenwu vaguely had a not-so-good guess about the current situation of this God of Magic.

But after all….

He was still hoping for a relatively normal meeting, filled with an epic feel.

The twisted mountain of flesh before him inevitably made him feel complicated.

“God of Magic?”

“Principal?”

“Magic?”

Lu Wenwu called out several names in a row, but the voice from earlier did not respond again.

Only a faintest of thought fluctuations flashed by, almost imperceptible.

This was keenly captured by Lu Wenwu.

He immediately flapped his dragon wings and flew upwards.

The once Nether Yin Dragon Wings had completely assimilated into Lu Wenwu’s body after the Thunder Tribulation, becoming a part of him.

Now, he maneuvered them with ease, controlling to a more microscopic level.

At the top of the flesh mountain, a nearly imperceptible starry light shimmered.

It was pure starlight.

So weak, like the last wick in a candelabrum, akin to a terminally ill patient in the final stages, helplessly lying on the sickbed, relying on a ventilator to support their last breaths.

An emotion named despair was spreading, permeating every corner of this space.

In this ebbing tide of despair, Lu Wenwu tasted a hint of unwillingness.

He thought for a moment, and the Merit Golden Sun rose behind him, firmly shielding himself.

A layer like a gilded “film” quickly covered his body, flowing and swirling like ripples of water, possessing a warmth capable of breaking through all coldness.

This was the result of the fusion of Merit Power and the Power of the Great Sun.

If anything could restrain such bone-deep Power of Corruption, these two would certainly be great choices.

From the experiences gained from the God of Blood and Night, perhaps a sea of blood condensed with pure Killing Intent and Blood Evil Qi could also have an isolating effect, possibly even better.

But Lu Wenwu didn’t dare to gamble.

The flesh mountain before him was already in a precarious state.

If he stimulated it with unknown forces again, who knows what it will mutate into?

He cautiously reached out his hand to touch the viscous flesh that emitted starlight.

In just a moment, Lu Wenwu’s Merit Power started to be consumed at a flood-level speed, and the flames of the Merit Golden Sun flared up, becoming more vigorous.

Violent black smoke surged from the contact point of his palm, almost igniting into a gray-black flame.

This was different from the Negative Power injected into the God’s body; it was a special substance that appeared after being completely burned by Merit Power and the Great Sun.

Such a rough purification didn’t completely eliminate it, but it was indeed weakened to a level where even ordinary people with strong will could withstand it.

As a large amount of twisted black flesh burned into black mist and floated upwards, the previously flickering starlight also became brighter, and the emitted will of thought began to firm up.

The seed breaking the darkness started to take root and sprout, and the consciousness transmitting the sound rekindled hope.

During the process of purifying the twisted flesh with the Merit Golden Sun, Lu Wenwu also tried to directly refine it through the Evil Slayer and Devouring Heaven and Earth.

The result was not very ideal.

The former couldn’t extract the slightest bit of “Evil Power” from it.

The latter found that the cost and reward were utterly disproportionate.

The energy devoured into the body was entirely used for replenishment, consuming several times more than simple purification.

And there was a risk of mental corruption.

Lu Wenwu didn’t hesitate for even a second and directly abandoned these two methods.

He also didn’t choose to let Mao Mao take a bite and try it.

The risk was too great, and Mao Mao didn’t have a Resurrection Coin!

In such circumstances, the two sides engaged in a tug-of-war.

Lu Wenwu attempted to erode more of the black mutated flesh mountain to pull out the consciousness buried deep inside.

The black mutated flesh mountain, meanwhile, was supplementing itself by absorbing large amounts of Negative Power, nurturing the corrupting power that could even twist the minds of gods, while also recovering itself.

Lu Wenwu was never afraid of a tug-of-war; his Recovery Ability was exceptionally strong.

Today, he seemed to have met his match.

The deeper he dug, the more power he consumed, increasing exponentially.

This made Lu Wenwu frown slightly.

This meant it was almost impossible to wear out the opponent through such consumptive tug-of-war.

Once his consumption levels rose to a certain threshold, the offense and defense would reverse, his recovery speed lagging far behind his consumption rate.

By then, even he might face a crisis.

Who knows how much time had passed.

Maybe half an hour, maybe an hour.

The top of the flesh mountain finally melted away, and Lu Wenwu successfully found the center of restoration and consumption.

Now, the competition between the two sides fell into a thoroughly deadlocked state.

The good news was that Lu Wenwu’s fatigue had a payoff.

He finally managed to dig out a part of the consciousness buried at the top of the twisted flesh mountain.
