Clang clang clang~

The bell of dawn rang out.

The battle continued, both sides hanging on by a thread. The Demon Race’s army had all entered the city, but their numbers were visible, and the Demon Race’s Chief personally led the charge, fighting his way to the gate of the inner city, breaking it with his own hands after several assaults.

After the gate was broken, dawn light fell on his face, and he also heard the sound of the church bell in the distance, so clear, so deep, yet it involuntarily filled him with terror.

He was unclear where this terror came from, why he felt fear, like encountering a natural enemy.

This feeling drove him mad.

"All must die!" he shouted, leading the army into the city.

The human legion suffered heavy losses in this war, with fewer than fifty thousand remaining, only about thirty thousand still able to fight.

A silver-haired, tall human wearing damaged armor led the army to block the gate. He was Sveik, hailed as the War God in the army, raising his silver-white longsword upon seeing the Demons break the gate: "Everyone, follow my command, stop them!"

In this war, he had already fought the Demon Race’s Chief several times, but each time he fell into disadvantage, forced to retreat.

Lauren was among them. Though he had fallen off the city wall before, he survived and joined the subsequent guard battle.

Due to joining the army midway, he held a low position, merely a squad leader, but as more died, his position rose, promoted to vanguard of the company.

Another beam of white light shot into the sky, and illusory white armor appeared on them. Due to their proximity to the church, the Blessing effect was more apparent, making the armor seem more real, with the patterns clearly visible.

The Demon Race’s Chief’s strength was terrifying, rampaging alone among the crowd, his black greatsword smeared with blood, pressing Sveik back continuously. One kick hit his chest frontally, sending him flying, laughing arrogantly:

"You are indeed something; even the Imperial City of the Golden Empire was not as hard to conquer. You can be proud; among humans, you are exemplary."

Back then, in the Golden Empire, the Demon Race’s army was far less than now, only about a tenth, yet it took seven days to conquer the Golden Empire’s Imperial City.

The Golden Empire was one of humanity’s three strongest empires, with formidable financial strength and countless mages, yet due to negligence, it was easily flattened by the Demon Race’s army.

Sveik got up from the ground, originally just an ordinary soldier of the Empire, but his extraordinary will brought him step by step to this day. Even if his strength was far inferior, he showed no fear, facing the enemy and shouting:

"There are many exceptional places. Today, you will die here, and the Demon Race’s army will halt here!"

"Is that so? I admire your courage!" the Demon Race’s Chief laughed, raising his sword to strike the army’s War God, slicing through the air with a fierce wind.

At this moment, a blazing white fireball flew from behind, hitting the Demon Race’s Chief in the chest, sending him flying.

Linda rushed from the side.

Sveik seized the opportunity, charging forward, slicing off one of the Demon Race’s Chief’s arms with his longsword.

As the blood spattered, the Demon Race’s Chief landed heavily on the ground, seemingly severely injured.

Sveik, seeing this, pursued the advantage, approaching the Demon Race’s Chief, and swung his sword.

Swoosh~

The longsword struck the ground, carving a crack over ten meters with sword energy.

The Demon Race’s Chief vanished from the original spot, appearing behind him, raising the blood-stained black greatsword: "It’s all over, Sveik!"

No surprises.

Sveik was decapitated, falling lightly to the ground, blood gushing out.

Those around could not believe this scene; the War God Sveik had died just like that.

Linda also witnessed this, feeling doomed. Once Sveik died, probably no one here could stop the terrifying Demon Race’s Chief, and she was now in a state of magic power exhaustion.

The Demon Race’s Chief patted the dust off as if unscathed, looking around, shouting:

"Do you think you can kill me!"

Then, in everyone’s eyes, the Demon Race’s Chief’s severed arm regrew, looking no different from before.

"You might not know, the reputed strongest mage of the Golden Empire also had their head severed by me personally!"

"Haha, back then their expressions were identical to yours now, surprised and terrified."

"Mages are just unnecessary trash!"

The Demon Race’s Chief stepped on Sveik’s head, turned his head to look at Linda with a cruel smile, then strode over.

He saw through the powerful mage as already exhausted, drained of magic power by the Demon Race’s army, like that reputed strongest mage, having trouble even escaping.

Linda saw the Demon Race’s Chief charging at her, gritting her teeth, and conjured another fireball, shooting it head-on.

With the fierce explosion, the Demon Race’s Chief shielded his arms in front, rushing out of the flames to Linda, grabbing her body and lifting her high.

Weak mage, he could crush her with one hand without any effort!

At this moment, he heard the bell again, turning to look toward the direction, seeing a tall silver-white statue, majestic and sacred, unviewable directly.

Like seeing something special, he froze in place.

Swoosh~

A head flew high.

Lauren rushed up from behind, raising his silver-white longsword, miraculously severing the Demon Race’s Chief’s head.

Blood flowed, the blade emitting blinding white light.
