Chapter 1040 - 321: Arm_3

Su Changxing couldn’t help but furrow his brows as well. "I didn’t expect the war here to have become this brutal already. These corpses were probably all cleared from the battlefield."

Through Faith he could observe the scenes on the battlefield and thus estimate the current state of the war. The Foreign Religion had previously always held the upper hand, forcing the Church’s allied armies into a corner of the Southern Continent, preparing to wipe them out completely.

But from that moment on, something went wrong.

Those Church armies obtained more Power from the Divine Spirits, and suddenly grasped some unimaginably powerful Magic, enough to turn the tide of battle.

Just not long ago, on the battlefield near Mu Xi Lake, a Priest in the Church’s army used a strange Magic to awaken the bones scattered across the battlefield, gathering over ten thousand Undead to counterattack the Foreign Religion’s main forces.

Adis was sharp enough; he immediately ordered a retreat. Though the losses were heavy, they still managed to break away in time from the Undead army’s pursuit.

That Undead army then vanished from the battlefield, its whereabouts unknown.

Seeing this situation, Su Changxing naturally would not sit and wait for death while watching his own Believers lose this war, so he too bestowed more Blessings.

Because of this, the scale of the war on both sides rose step by step.

At first the Church’s allied armies only had a few Werewolves mixed in; later there were more and more, and eventually entire organized Werewolf units appeared.

Each Werewolf’s combat strength was utterly astonishing; an entire Werewolf unit like this could even take a city.

On the All Beings Sect Foreign Religion’s side, Blessings were stacked to the limit. Under layers upon layers of buffs, even an ordinary Believer had the Ability to fight a Werewolf, and after that they deployed Rune Warriors as well.

Those Rune Warriors were all borrowed from the Orthodox side. Although the Orthodox and the Foreign Religion had already split, their relationship wasn’t bad; after all, they served the same Divine Spirit and had all received that Divine Spirit’s recognition.

So such support remained within the bounds of understanding, but to outsiders, the Orthodox and the Foreign Religion were in an oppositional relationship.

Immediately after, Adis prepared to carry out another decapitation plan, to kill the newly established Pope of the Housheng Sect.

He had done such a thing once before, which nearly destroyed Hero City; the Foreign Religion was founded from that very moment.

Everyone knew that foreign affairs held Power from the Divine Spirit and were the root that had almost destroyed Hero City, making the Housheng Sect deeply wary.

Deep destruction will inevitably be followed by deeper madness.

Though the war between both sides had been dragged into a corner of the Southern Continent, it still affected all nearby cities.

Whether it was the Foreign Religion or the Church’s allied armies, they would purge Heretics in the cities by the most extreme, most blood-soaked means.

Su Changxing knew these Churches were tools left in this nation by those Divine Spirits, so he allowed Adis to cleanse them, and he also knew those Divine Spirits would definitely not let this pass.

And sure enough.

In the decapitation operation the day before yesterday, Adis and the hundreds of accompanying team members were crushed to death by a gigantic hand that descended from the sky with a single slap, the impact sweeping across an entire district; houses were destroyed and turned into ruins.

Su Changxing sensed Adis’s death as well, but his soul did not disperse. Instead, it remained active within the Faith condensed in the cathedral; with enough Faith, he could be resurrected.

Pitch-black blood spread and boiled within the pool at the great hall’s center, gradually forming a clear human silhouette. Its color shifted, revealing human skin.

"Ah—"

Adis crawled out of the blood, his body bare, looking no different from before. There was a scar on his neck, and his left arm was still severed.

He knelt on the ground, a fervent and devout expression on his face. "Thank you, Lord."

With the Lord’s protection, even death could not drag him into oblivion.

Su Changxing fell into a brief silence. Reviving a person out of thin air was nowhere near a simple matter; it even violated the rules of the world.

Adis was extremely special. His body and soul were bound to his Faith, or rather, they were themselves an embodiment of part of his Faith; he was no longer a mere individual.

Someone had tampered with him at a time he hadn’t noticed, accomplishing such an inconceivable feat.

Even he himself found it hard to achieve something like this.

Who could it be?

The eight eyes on Su Changxing’s face slowly opened, each bearing a different expression, as though different people were thinking.

Sean could only half-cover his face and lower his head, pretending he had seen nothing, shivering as he leaned in the corner of the deck.
