Global Game: I Have Portable Store
Chapter 908 - 260: Descending from the Sky
Su Changxing possesses complete control over the Pocket Galaxy, yet not wholly, finding it difficult to directly interfere with matters on the ground, like a true Divine Spirit would.
It is natural to desire further control over this world.
This is a complete world, possessing countless humans; most importantly, he can likely absorb Faith directly from this world.
As long as he establishes another All Beings Sect in this world, or another sect, he can continually amass a great amount of Faith.
The Faith from a complete world is unimaginable; probably something many Divine Spirits could never achieve, as each world has its own protective mechanism preventing Divine Spirits from directly intervening.
Takka stood on the city wall, his expression sullen, feeling the pursuit of those two Verdant Demons, yet with the wall’s defenses, he was temporarily safe.
"Tell everyone, today we fight to the death and share in Viduo City’s fate, the city lives as long as we live, the city destroyed, we perish!"
Takka stood on the city wall, shouting to the surrounding Soldiers, meanwhile, more than thirty Crystal Magic Towers within Viduo City rose, emitting brilliant light.
This is the glory of human civilization, proving their existence, even in remnants.
The humans of this world, as previously exhibited, have nothing apart from Magic, everything is closely tied to Magic—architecture, industry, civil use, transportation, husbandry, agriculture...
After the New Magic Era, they demolished all Faiths, all religions, worshipping only themselves, believing only in Magic.
A Magic Array with a radius of over a hundred meters slowly rotated, propelled by the Mage Legion, as Magic is unleashed, countless enormous meteors, enveloped in purple flames, are hurled at the Demon Race’s army from the sky; this Forbidden Technique, known as the Divine Spirit’s hand, only causes moderate casualties to the Demon Army.
Their numbers are too great, like swarms of locusts in fields, mice scuttling in granaries.
This Destruction Level Magic will continue until these demons reach their city.
The vast plains are pummeled by meteors, leaving craters of various sizes, while some demons clamber out of the pits, battered and bruised, continuing toward the city.
Seeing this scene, Takka was filled with despair, yet still exhibited high spirits, knowing he couldn’t crumble; if he crumbled, hope would be utterly lost, as the Empire’s strongest Mage, he ought to fight until the bitter end.
Looking up and down, in a fleeting moment of doubt, he heard low whispers, saw a figure standing between the stars, clad in a cloak like thin mist, face obscured, casting shadows upon the stars, turning back to look at him.
"Humans, offer me your hearts, I can save you from extinction’s edge!"
The distant majesty deeply shook Takka, realizing he was connecting with some unknowable entity, presumably the Divine Spirit he had been praying to.
At this moment, only a Divine Spirit with immense power could save them, otherwise, they would struggle against the endless demon horde.
Takka’s voice became firm, he straightened his aged spine: "Tell me what I should do."
Su Changxing saw the other’s quick and straightforward agreement, falling into brief silence, not expecting such ease, evidently, the city’s people were indeed driven to despair, unable to worsen, hence such a prompt agreement.
What difference does it make; perhaps each world will reach its end, only the duration differs, like leaves returning to the root, like the sun rising in the east and setting in the west, like a constant law.
But what if such an order were disrupted.
"I will give you spiritual guidance, guiding you to eternal light, I trust you comprehend, Great Mage, Kata."
A white light flashed in Kata’s eyes, a force unlike that of a Mage, distinct from Magic surged within him, though not overwhelmingly powerful, yet it provided hope.
It is this kind of power they need, a force distinguishable from Magic; despite Magic’s strength, it inherently carries unavoidable flaws.
These imperfections prevent Magic from being truly mighty.
Kata realized everything, appearing extremely exhilarated, almost kneeling on the spot; for the city, for the nation, for the world, even spending a lifetime here would be worthy.
"How should I serve you, my Master?"
Kata spoke humbly, glancing around, seemingly searching for Su Changxing’s precise location, yet found nothing unusual.
"Clear a plot of land, it needs to be large enough."
Su Changxing observed the structure of Viduo City from directly above, instructing Kata.
Kata clearly didn’t understand the purpose, questioning: "Exactly how large?"
"Around two hundred meters will suffice, keep people away."
"Alright, my Master."
Kata responded within, then immediately stood up, called on the surrounding Soldiers to clear a large open space from nearby streets.
"Quick, hurry, time waits for nobody."
Kata directly used Magic to blast obstacles into ruins, clearing them away.
The commotion drew others to investigate.
"Master, what are you doing?"
A female Mage, wearing a deep blue Magic Robe, with a delicate face, approached, furrowing her brow as she witnessed this scene, her gaze was firm and confident, yet a hint of worry shone in her eyes:
"If you can’t do it, you should rest first, leave this to me."
She thought Takka might be reacting under too much pressure, thus doing such abnormal things; could even a powerful Mage like him succumb to such pressure?
Kata glanced at her, discontentedly responding: "What nonsense are you talking, Linda, in truth, I’ve already found redemption."
Linda sighed, her thick black hair gently floating in the air, once more persuading her stubborn master: "The gods long abandoned us in time’s passage; only existing in ancient texts, they might not exist at all."
"Impossible beings cannot offer us aid..."
"Master, leave here, we are enough, you’re hope shouldn’t fall here, perhaps indeed there is some way to save us."
Kata felt helpless, waving dismissively: "Stay back, don’t bother me; those demons are coming, just watch from the wall."
Linda was also helpless, repeating: "Master, Divine Spirits don’t exist."
Kata was momentarily infuriated by these words, blowing his beard and glaring: "Who told you! Just now, I connected with the Great Divine Spirit."
Linda observed Kata’s state, inwardly exclaiming that her Master had gone mad, truly delirious, even experiencing unusual fantasies.
She tentatively stated: "Master, perhaps you should rest, let me handle things."
Kata waved dismissively: "Stop your childish antics."
As he spoke, a massive shadow descended from the sky, rapidly rushing into Viduo City, even the Crystal Magic Towers couldn’t react.
The sound of impact arrived, cracks spread across the ground, a silver statue over ten meters tall appeared on the open land; despite a concave groove formed on the ground, the statue remained in pristine condition, displaying grandeur and sanctity.
Karen was left stunned, her eyes wide open, losing all semblance of composure: "It... It fell from the sky!"
Takka was equally frozen, not expecting such a development, entirely surprising.
"It actually fell from the sky."
"Karen, did you see? This is a miracle." Kata said with hands on hips, face full of delight, adding an unmistakable air of pride.
Karen glanced again at the unobstructed sky, puzzled, stating: "But why would that thing fall from the sky? It seems unreasonable."
