Chapter 490: Chapter 53: Time-lapse World

"What?" Lin Yu couldn’t be bothered with calculating data anymore. "Come on, take me to see!"

"You guys actually figured out how to use these two special types of water so quickly! Amazing!"

"It is all thanks to your excellent guidance, my lord!" Chenxi said humbly.

"Ah! Don’t be so modest! What does it have to do with me? Didn’t you all figure it out through your own experiments?"

"It truly is thanks to your guidance, my lord! The method you demonstrated in my office before gave us a great deal of inspiration. Otherwise, we wouldn’t have gotten these experimental results so quickly!"

"Oh? Then you’ll have to tell me all about it!"

Lin Yu was very pleased to hear Chenxi say this.

...

The two of them rode the Heaven-Reaching Vine up to the Sky Garden.

On the top level of the garden, the researchers from the institute were already waiting for their arrival.

"I really didn’t expect you to actually experiment directly on these two Divine Trees!"

Having arrived at the top level of the garden, Lin Yu still hadn’t recovered from the news.

"My lord, didn’t we tell you?"

"We ran experiments. Every drop of this Water of Time can accelerate a plant’s life by one year."

"With the growth cycles of these two Divine Trees easily lasting hundreds or thousands of years, they can certainly withstand a little Water of Time."

However, although Chenxi’s explanation was logical and well-founded, Lin Yu still felt a pang of distress for his Divine Trees.

"Even so, I still think what you did was a bit reckless!"

"My lord, why don’t you take a look at our results first?" Chenxi knew that further explanations would be useless, so she had no choice but to change the subject.

"Fine. Let’s see what you’ve managed to do with these two Divine Trees. Don’t disappoint me!"

Lin Yu looked at the Peach of Immortality Tree. Its appearance had changed drastically. Compared to its previous sapling state, it had grown a lot and now looked like a mature tree.

"Using the Water of Time to accelerate the Peach of Immortality Tree’s growth... that’s a good idea, indeed!"

Lin Yu nodded in approval. Seeing this Peach of Immortality Tree, which should have still been a sapling, grown so large, he knew what the researchers had done.

"My lord, that’s not all!"

"Take a look at this!"

Chenxi signaled to Lin Haoyue, motioning for her to begin the experiment.

Lin Haoyue then took a bucket of water from the side and poured it near the roots of the Peach of Immortality Tree.

"My lord, what you’re seeing now is the Peach of Immortality Tree being watered with water from the Mother and Child River."

"This Mother and Child River Water is quite miraculous. We’ve conducted many experiments on it these past few days and discovered that it’s not only effective on animals but on plants as well. Even semi-energy lifeforms like sprites and Slimes, as well as elemental creatures, will bear offspring after drinking it."

"It’s just that, due to differences in species, the way they bear offspring varies greatly."

"Animals become pregnant or lay eggs."

"Plants bear fruit directly without flowering."

"Energy beings split directly."

"Furthermore, the rank of this river water is very high."

"It even has an effect on a Divine Tree like the Peach of Immortality Tree."

"However, because the Peach of Immortality Tree has a very long life cycle, we need to add a bit of the Water of Time to see the specific effect."

As she said this, Lin Haoyue dripped a drop of the Water of Time onto the Peach of Immortality Tree.

Just as expected, the Peach of Immortality Tree flashed with an iridescent light, and fruit buds visibly appeared on its branches.

CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!

Seeing this change in the Peach of Immortality Tree, Lin Yu clapped his hands in delight, applauding the researchers’ achievement.

"Do you have any harvested Peaches of Immortality? Let me see!"

"Yes, they’re all here."

Chenxi led Lin Yu to the back of the group, where there were several crates woven from wood, filled with tempting Peaches of Immortality.

"My lord, these peaches have a strange property. If they fall to the ground and are left alone, they will dissipate a large amount of Spiritual Energy into the air within a few breaths’ time."

"So I took the liberty of taking some branches from the Peach of Immortality Tree and weaving them into these crates to hold the peaches."

Lin Yu looked at the Peaches of Immortality and inspected their information.

-----------------

[Malnourished Initial-stage Peach of Immortality]: An Epic Tier fruit. When consumed by an ordinary creature, it grants a Hero Template and raises the creature’s tier to at least Extraordinary Tier (the result varies depending on the consumer’s aptitude).

If consumed by a creature that already has a Hero Template and is below Legendary Tier, it will be directly promoted to Legendary Tier.

If consumed by a creature at or above Legendary Tier, it has no effect if their level is over 100; otherwise, their level increases by one.

Lifespan +500!

-----------------

These Peaches of Immortality, catalyzed by the Water of Time, were all malnourished, and their effects were diminished.

’Not bad, I guess!’

Lin Yu smacked his lips. Although the effects were weakened, the ability to transform the consumer into a hero was still there.

Although the lifespan-enhancing effect was halved, when stacked with the Rebirth Altar, it could greatly increase the future growth potential of his territory’s people.

"Excellent, this is a great way to use it!"

"Have you considered trying this on the Divine Fruit Trees?"

"The yield from those Divine Fruit Trees is also a bit low. Besides, there are many of them, so it wouldn’t matter if you used a few for experiments!"

"My lord! Look!"

Chenxi resignedly picked up the wooden cup Lin Yu had previously given her, the one that held the Water of Time, and tipped it over. Nothing came out.

It dawned on Lin Yu. The Water of Time had been used up. No wonder they had only used a single drop during the experiment—it must have been the last of it. They had likely saved that one drop specifically to show him.

"It’s fine, Chenxi. Come with me! I’ll take you to get more."

Lin Yu turned and walked toward the lower levels of the Sky Garden, and Chenxi quickly followed, holding the wooden cup.
