Chapter 503 - 58: Preparing to Return to Cuiwei Star (Part 2)

Chapter 503: Chapter 58: Preparing to Return to Cuiwei Star (Part 2)

"I’ve already finished learning everything a Great Druid needs to know and have started on Legendary Druid knowledge. Should I pick a specialization to advance faster?"

"I’ve noticed that at the Legendary tier, everyone specializes in a single field!"

"This book I’ve been reading recently is quite interesting. It’s suddenly sparked my interest in the power of dreams. What do you think about me becoming a Dream Druid?"

"Building a Dream World for our territory, where everyone can be in the same world while they sleep, seems like it would be pretty fun."

...

On their way, Lin Yu asked Chenxi, a Legendary Druid, for advice on his future studies, even though she wasn’t currently the highest-ranked or highest-level Druid in the territory.

However, Chenxi had always also served as the director of the Wisdom Library, and she loved to study in the Jade Sanctuary.

When it came to druidic knowledge, Chenxi had always been number one in the territory.

"My Lord, ordinary people like us need to specialize in different fields mainly because our energy is limited. Only by concentrating on a single path do we have a chance to advance to the next tier."

"You, however, are different. In just over a year, you’ve learned everything a Great Druid needs to know and have already started studying the knowledge required to become a Legendary Druid."

"At this pace, you can absolutely pursue a well-rounded development. It might take a few extra years, but you’ll be able to break through to the Legendary Druid tier with comprehensive mastery."

"I believe you should only consider choosing a specialization when you feel that mastering a single field is starting to consume too much of your time."

Lin Yu nodded, completely agreeing with Chenxi’s assessment. He had actually been thinking the same thing.

It was just that the book’s descriptions of Dream Druids and other Senior-tier Druids had filled him with a sense of longing.

After hearing Chenxi’s words, he decided to continue his current path of comprehensive development. A slower advancement didn’t matter; after all, with the Peach of Immortality Tree in the territory, he was in no short supply of lifespan.

...

Chatting pleasantly along the way, the two arrived at a tree farm in the inner ring.

In the center of the tree farm, Meiying, Manqiluo, and a group of staff had been waiting for some time. Seeing Lin Yu and Chenxi arrive, they quickly came forward to greet them.

"My Lord! Master!"

"Right. Where’s the War Ancient Tree? I want to see it first."

In unspoken agreement, the group looked toward a spot behind them. Lin Yu followed their gazes and discovered a small sapling.

"This sapling is the War Ancient Tree? Why is it so small? Didn’t you use any Water of Time on it?"

"My Lord, we did! It was no use!"

Lin Yu: "..."

"Let me take a look."

Lin Yu checked the War Ancient Tree’s information.

[War Ancient Tree]: A War Ancient Tree in its juvenile state. Development status: Excellent!

The system’s prompt was basically useless. It only proved that the War Ancient Tree he had planted wasn’t a fake.

Since the system information offered no clues, Lin Yu decided to investigate it himself.

He closed his eyes, shifted his consciousness entirely to his avatar, then drew upon all of the World Tree’s unused perception, combining it with his own and focusing it all on the War Ancient Tree.

From the tiny sapling before him, Lin Yu sensed a surging life force completely out of proportion to its small body.

Logically, such a strong life force would force any other creature to mature quickly, but the War Ancient Tree remained in its juvenile state.

Lin Yu waved his hand, summoning the nearby Water of Time and pouring it onto the roots of the War Ancient Tree sapling.

The War Ancient Tree greedily absorbed the Water of Time, and the Power of Time rapidly spread through its entire body.

After the Power of Time faded, the War Ancient Tree hadn’t grown in the slightest, though its life force had strengthened once again.

’Huh? It really is useless!’

Logically, the Power of Time from the Water of Time had taken effect on the War Ancient Tree. It did what it was supposed to do, but the tree itself didn’t grow. Instead, its life force increased.

’How strange!’

Lin Yu decided to spend the day observing it right there. He found a place to sit to the side and focused all his attention on the War Ancient Tree’s changes.

...

A day later, Lin Yu stood up and stretched his stiff limbs.

"It seems there’s really no way to force this War Ancient Tree to mature."

After a night of observation, Lin Yu found that the War Ancient Tree’s growth followed a completely natural rhythm. Over the course of a day, it had grown exactly as much as it should have.

The territory trait [Rapid Growth II], the tree farm’s growth-accelerating effect, and the Power of Time from the Water of Time had absolutely no effect on its growth.

However, based on the War Ancient Tree’s reaction after being given the Water of Time, Lin Yu surmised that the tree had converted all of these growth-accelerating powers into life force.

"Chenxi, from now on, give this War Ancient Tree a dose of Water of Time every day. While it might not make it grow faster, it does enhance its power, so it should still be useful."

After giving his instructions, Lin Yu left the tree farm. Since there was no way to force its growth, he would just have to raise it slowly. Surely the War Ancient Tree’s growth cycle couldn’t be longer than the Peach of Immortality Tree’s. He would be there the day it finally matured.

...

A little over a day later, a system prompt appeared again.

[The Teleportation Array is now active. All Lords may purchase their homeworld coordinates from the Points Shop and use the Teleportation Array to travel.]

Lin Yu did as instructed and opened the Points Shop. Under the special redemption list, he found the option to purchase his homeworld coordinates. After buying them, a special spatial coordinate marker made from a Space Stone Fragment appeared in his hand.

Afterward, Lin Yu used the spatial coordinate marker on the Interstellar Teleportation Array, and an option to travel to Cuiwei Star appeared within the array’s interface.

Lin Yu looked at Li Hua, who had been waiting nearby. "Brother Li, why don’t you try? If you can teleport back directly, you’ll save the expense of purchasing coordinates."

Li Hua walked up to the Teleportation Array. After a moment, he shook his head and returned.

"Boss Lin, I don’t see a destination option."

"Let me take another look."

Lin Yu used his authority to open the Interstellar Teleportation Array’s management interface and took a look.

After tinkering for a bit, he opened the permission settings interface for the Cuiwei Star coordinates. Unfortunately, permissions could only be set for the Lord and Affiliated Lords. Lin Yu chose to grant Li Hua access to the Cuiwei Star teleportation option.

Once he had permission, Li Hua was indeed able to select Cuiwei Star as a destination in the Interstellar Teleportation Array.

"Boss Lin, I’m heading back first, then. I need to go check on my sister, keep her from causing trouble for other people."

"Alright. You go on back. I’ll return as soon as I handle some business in the territory."

A flash of light later, Li Hua disappeared from within the Interstellar Teleportation Array.

Next, the Titan Race lords who had submitted to Lin Yu pooled their funds to redeem the spatial coordinates for the Titan Race homeworld—Titan Star.

Similarly, after the coordinates were entered into the Interstellar Teleportation Array, the original user could teleport directly, and Lin Yu, by setting permissions, could allow other Affiliated Lords to use these coordinates as well.

After gaining the appropriate permissions, the Affiliated Lords who had pledged their allegiance to Lin Yu also left the territory through the Teleportation Array.

After all the Affiliated Lords had left the territory through the Interstellar Teleportation Array, Lin Yu once again opened the array’s management interface and manually entered a string of coordinates.

After he finished, Lin Yu saw a new destination appear on the Teleportation Array.

Then, Lin Yu returned to the Lord’s Mansion, walked into the World Tree, and entered a merged state with it before sending his avatar out.

His avatar went to the Teleportation Array and teleported to the coordinates Lin Yu had manually added.

"Ha, this is much more convenient!"

Gazing at the endless glaciers outside and the various unique ice-based plants all around, Lin Yu happily added the teleportation coordinates for his main territory while in the Glacier World, then teleported back to the World Tree Territory.

’So the Glacier World really is a planet in the main Cosmos. This is great. From now on, I won’t have to go through the World Tree to travel back and forth from the Glacier World.’
