Li Ziyu opened the system, looked through the Fortress construction category, and found "Expansion."

Back when it was a Mobile Fortress, he could expand the Bone Plate Platform. Now that it had been upgraded to a Fortress, it still had the expansion function. As long as he spent resources, he could expand the Fortress however he pleased.

Li Ziyu decided to build a secret chamber beneath the main building to house the Skeleton Power Module and serve as the Fortress's power core.

Building the secret chamber was simple—just a matter of using some Skeletons. Once the chamber was built, Li Ziyu installed the Skeleton Power Module inside and ordered it to connect with the Fortress.

In a way, the Skeleton Power Module was a type of Undead. Upon receiving Li Ziyu's command, it immediately extended hollow, arm-thick bone tubes, which plunged fiercely into the chamber walls and spread throughout the entire Fortress.

Li Ziyu checked the information. The Speed had become 50 km/h + 150 km/h (Skeleton Power Module), which was much faster than with the old Skeleton Engine.

The system suddenly sent a notification. Li Ziyu was slightly taken aback. 'One power module isn't enough? Fine. I have the resources now, so I have to get the power system sorted out!'

Li Ziyu went ahead and built four more secret chambers, then created five more Skeleton Power Modules. He installed one module in each of the four new chambers, and brought the number of modules in the original chamber to two.

Checking the Speed again, it had shot up to 50 km/h + 200 km/h (Skeleton Power Module). A top speed of 250 km/h was comparable to a D-series train. That was plenty fast.

Li Ziyu wanted to add a few more power modules to reach the speed of a bullet train, but the system warned that the Fortress couldn't handle such high speeds and would fall apart. Even at the current 250 km/h, he had to be careful, as accidents could easily occur.

This was the Otherworld, not the modern era; there were no railways for Li Ziyu to use. The ground was full of all sorts of things—potholes, rocks, and trees were common. Crashing into them at 250 km/h would not be pleasant for the Fortress.

The system recommended traveling at a speed of 100-200 km/h for better stability. It also reminded Li Ziyu not to forget to upgrade the wheels, as high-speed movement with the current ones was dangerous.

'I've already sorted out the Skeleton Power Modules, am I really going to skimp on the wheels?'

'Scrap the old wheels. Time for an upgrade—a good one!'

'Linked wheelsets, twelve wheels per set, divided into drive wheels and steering wheels. Install them. I don't know how many sets I need? I'll just ask the system to max them out. I have plenty of resources. It just costs Skeletons, right? I've got tons. Just do it!'

After sorting out the linked wheelsets, Li Ziyu still wasn't satisfied. 'Tracked wheels. Install them.'

To allow both types of wheels to function better, Li Ziyu also installed an alternation system. This allowed him to switch between wheel types at will. If he wanted to use the linked wheelsets, he could use the linked wheelsets. If he wanted to use the tracks, he could use the tracks.

He solved all his mobility issues in one go. The only thing he didn't install was the Skeleton Power Exoskeleton. That thing was better for climbing mountains, but where would he find so many mountains in the Wasteland? He didn't need it for now, so he decided against installing it.

He glanced at the time displayed on the system and realized that, without him noticing, the entire night had passed. The sky was about to brighten.

'The joy of construction is making me lose track of everything else,' Li Ziyu remarked to himself. He then hurried to upgrade the Weapon Workshop and Armor Workshop before finally putting the Fortress into Hibernation Mode.

With the Dark Cloud Covering Magic, he didn't actually need to enter Hibernation Mode. However, Dark Cloud Covering consumed Soul Energy, and Li Ziyu wasn't so extravagant as to waste Soul Energy. If he could save it, he would. Frugality was a virtue.

Liu Xingxing and Zhang Peng didn't see Li Ziyu. Knowing he was holed up building new structures and researching new technologies, they left on their own. In any case, with the system, they could contact each other at any time, and returning was easy thanks to the Mobile Fortress. Besides, they had their own tasks to attend to.

This thrilled him, confirming his belief that the history of the Otherworld was far more ancient than they had imagined.

Through his contacts with other Tribes, Liu Xingxing had also gotten his hands on a treasure map. Lately, he had focused almost all his energy on it. He had a feeling the map held a secret, and as a Treasure Hunter, he found such mysteries irresistible. It would drive him crazy if he didn't uncover it.

Zhang Peng was also doing well. Whenever he reached a new Tribe, he would make an appearance but wouldn't stay long. He would basically introduce himself as a Merchant and let them know to find him if they wanted to trade.
