Global Lords: The Undead's Mobile Fortress
Chapter 495: The Headstrong Battle 3
“I feel your respect. You’ve created a battlefield most suitable for me. Thank you.” Damenevsky took a deep breath, savoring the icy air as he spoke with genuine feeling.
Bebuta: (O_O)?
“It seems I’ll have to get serious now,” Damenevsky said with a smile.
He bounced on the spot a couple of times, limbering up.
Meanwhile, the extreme cold radiating from Bebuta intensified, and the surrounding temperature continued to plummet.
Even Li Ziyu, who had already distanced himself, could feel the chill, forcing him to reluctantly order the Undead Fortress to retreat even further.
Bebuta noticed that Damenevsky, standing amidst the bitter cold, not only showed no signs of discomfort but was actually growing stronger…
‘Huh, what kind of development is this?’
‘Still, he truly is a worthy opponent!’
Bebuta grew serious as well. He raised his Weapon and assumed a combat stance.
His body now limber, Damenevsky wasted no time on words. With a roar, he raised his axe and charged, clashing violently with Bebuta.
This was no longer the simple exchange from before; the battle erupted in furious intensity.
Bebuta also let loose, fighting with wild abandon. He used not only his Lance and Dual Swords, but also a frigid, icy flame that he spewed from his mouth—a substance even Damenevsky had to treat with caution.
The two traded blows, their fight becoming an inextricable storm of violence. Their fury fueled their strength, and they fully entered a fight to the death.
Li Ziyu’s heart pounded and his blood boiled as he watched. No special effects blockbuster from his past life could ever compare to this.
‘This right here… this is real.’
They fought from the ground into the sky and back down again. The air was filled with a constant ROARING as shards of ice filled the air. Shockwaves erupted chaotically, and fierce gales scattered the icy mist.
Damenevsky was delighted, but Bebuta was even more so. He had never had such an exhilarating fight.
‘This truly is a joyous duel.’
‘If only he could become one of us, that would be even better.’
‘What a shame.’
‘But he’s not of the Void Race. I have to kill him.’
Bebuta felt the only thing he could do was to show his opponent the greatest respect by using his full strength.
They fought from morning until afternoon, yet no victor had emerged. The sun in the sky began to dim.
After another explosive clash, the two broke apart and landed back on the ground. The earth beneath them had sunk by nearly a meter, forming a massive crater.
Bebuta was in a sorry state. His Weapon was covered in nicks, and even his hard carapace was shattered in several places, revealing numerous wounds on his body.
But none of that mattered. For a powerful Void Lord, these wounds would heal quickly given a moment’s rest. They were of no concern.
Damenevsky, on the other hand, was injured even more severely. He was covered in deep gashes from the Dual Swords, his flesh torn open. Several cuts were so deep that bone was visible.
However, the intense cold had frozen the wounds shut, staunching the bleeding.
Beyond the Sword wounds, he had three other grievous injuries: a hole clean through his right chest where the Lance had pierced him, another puncture wound in his left side, and a shattered left arm.
“I must admit,” Bebuta said to Damenevsky with gravity, “you are the most powerful Human I have ever met.”
He meant every word.
No Human had ever fought him to such a standstill, suffering such grievous wounds yet still maintaining this level of combat prowess.
It was truly a rare sight.
Humans, after all, were a weak Race. Their bodies weren’t strong enough, far inferior to the Void Race. Even a few serious injuries would normally be enough to claim their lives.
This was Bebuta’s understanding of Humans.
Hearing this, Damenevsky nodded. He glanced up at the slowly dimming sun.
“You have made me very happy. However, night is falling. I think it’s time we ended this fight.”
“Yes. Are you prepared to meet your death, Human?”
Damenevsky: ???
He grinned at Bebuta. “No. Are *you*?”
