Chapter 416: Chapter 7-2

"Yeah, this is a traditional part of Mongolian culture. It’s very charming," said Li Xiao.

After spending a whole day on the grasslands, they went to Hulun Lake. The water was crystal clear, surrounded by beautiful grasslands and mountains.

"Old Li, this Hulun Lake is gorgeous! It’s like a giant mirror," Huang Pengfei said, gazing at the water.

Li Xiao was also captivated by the stunning scenery. "Hulun Lake is the pearl of Hulun Bei’er. The landscape here is intoxicating."

They strolled along the shore, admiring the beautiful views and soaking in the peace and beauty of nature.

After their tour of Hulun Lake, the two were hungry again. They decided to try one of Hulun Bei’er’s local specialties—a whole roasted lamb.

"I hear the whole roasted lamb is Hulun Bei’er’s signature dish. Let’s go try it," Li Xiao suggested.

"Yeah, yeah! I’ve been wanting to try it for ages," Huang Pengfei said eagerly.

They went to a restaurant and ordered a whole roasted lamb. Before long, a fragrant, sizzling lamb was brought to their table.

"Wow, this whole roasted lamb looks so tempting!" Huang Pengfei’s mouth was watering as he stared at it.

Li Xiao picked up a knife and carved off a piece of meat. "Here, hurry up and try some."

Huang Pengfei took a bite of the lamb. "Mmm, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. It’s delicious! So good!"

After finishing the roasted lamb, they sampled other Hulun Bei’er specialties like milk skin and dried beef. Every dish left a lasting, delicious impression.

After their meal, they started shopping for local products. Hulun Bei’er’s dairy products, dried beef, and Mongolian Sabers are all famous local specialties. They picked out a few things they liked, planning to bring them back as gifts for friends and family.

"Old Li, we really got a lot out of this trip to Hulun Bei’er," said Huang Pengfei, carrying his full bags.

"Yeah. We didn’t just admire the beautiful grasslands and lakes, but also tasted the food, watched folk performances, and bought souvenirs. Now, it’s time for our next destination," said Li Xiao.

Shouldering their bags, Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei arrived in Xiamen, full of excitement. As soon as they stepped out of the station, a warm sea breeze gently brushed against their faces.

"Hey, Old Li, you can even smell the sea in the air here in Xiamen," Huang Pengfei said excitedly, taking a deep breath.

Li Xiao smiled and nodded. "That’s right. Xiamen is a beautiful coastal city. Come on, let’s go check out Gulangyu Island first."

They boarded a ferry heading for Gulangyu Island. The waves gently lapped against the hull, and in the distance, the island looked particularly enchanting under the sunlight.

The moment they set foot on Gulangyu Island, they were greeted by the sight of historic buildings and quiet little alleys.

"Wow, Old Li, this Gulangyu Island has such a great vibe! Look at these old houses, they’re beautiful," Huang Pengfei exclaimed as they walked.

Li Xiao was also drawn in by the unique atmosphere. "Gulangyu Island has a rich historical and cultural heritage. These buildings are a testament to the passage of time."

They weaved through the alleys, admiring the varied architectural styles. From time to time, they could hear the melodious sound of a piano drifting through the air.

"Old Li, this island is so full of artistic flair," Huang Pengfei remarked with a sigh.

After exploring Gulangyu Island, they went to Zengcuo’an. The place was bustling with activity, with an overwhelming array of food stalls and specialty shops.

"Wow, Zengcuo’an is so lively! Look at all this street food, it looks so tempting," said Huang Pengfei, his eyes shining as he looked at all the delicacies.

Li Xiao said with a smile, "Come on, let’s go try some of Xiamen’s local snacks."

They tried Shacha Noodles, sea worm jelly, and peanut soup, among other delicacies. They couldn’t stop praising every single one.

"Old Li, these Shacha Noodles are really good, and this sea worm jelly... the texture is so unique," Huang Pengfei said as he ate.

After the snacks, they went to the seaside in Xiamen. The golden sand and blue ocean were incredibly refreshing to see.

"Old Li, the beach is so beautiful! Let’s go dip our feet in the water," Huang Pengfei said, already running toward the shore.

They walked along the shore, feeling the waves crash and the sea breeze blow. In the distance, the sun slowly set, painting the sky in a blaze of brilliant colors.

"This view is just too beautiful," Li Xiao couldn’t help but sigh as he watched the sunset.

After their time at the beach, the two were hungry again. They decided to sample Xiamen’s seafood.

"I hear the seafood in Xiamen is very fresh. Let’s go have a big seafood feast," Li Xiao suggested.

"Yeah, yeah! I’ve been craving seafood," Huang Pengfei said eagerly.

They found a seafood restaurant and ordered all sorts of things, like crabs, shrimp, and shellfish. Before long, their table was covered in delicious seafood.

"Wow, this seafood looks so tempting." Huang Pengfei picked up a crab and started to dig in.

Li Xiao also picked up a shrimp and popped it in his mouth. "Mmm, it’s so fresh and delicious. Great!"

After the seafood, they went to a venue for folk performances in Xiamen. A Min Nan song and dance show was underway. The performers, dressed in bright costumes, were singing and dancing in a lively spectacle.

"This performance is fantastic!" Huang Pengfei said, clapping along.

"Yeah, this is Xiamen’s folk culture. It’s very charming," said Li Xiao.

After the performance, they started shopping for local products. Xiamen’s pastries, dried seafood, and Lacquer Thread Carvings are all famous local specialties. They picked out a few things they liked, planning to bring them back as gifts for friends and family.

"Old Li, this trip to Xiamen has been so rewarding," said Huang Pengfei, carrying his full bags.

"Yeah. We didn’t just admire the beautiful scenery, but also tasted the food, watched folk performances, and bought souvenirs. Now, it’s time for our next destination," said Li Xiao.

With reverence and anticipation, Li Xiao and Huang Pengfei embarked on their journey to Lhasa. When their plane landed at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, they were immediately greeted by the sight of a pure blue sky and magnificent snow-capped mountains.

"Wow, Old Li, Lhasa is unbelievably beautiful! Look at those snowy mountains, they’re so majestic!" Huang Pengfei said excitedly.

Li Xiao gazed at the distant mountains, his heart also filled with awe. "It is. Lhasa is the holy city of the snowy plateau, and it has a unique charm. Come on, let’s head to the Potala Palace first."

They took a taxi toward the Potala Palace. As they got closer, the grand palace gradually came into view.

"Oh my god! This Potala Palace is absolutely magnificent!" Huang Pengfei’s eyes went wide, his jaw dropping.

Li Xiao was also overwhelmed by the imposing structure. "The Potala Palace is the highest palace in the world. It’s not just a treasure of architectural art, but also a holy site of Tibetan Buddhism."

They slowly ascended the steps, feeling the solemnity and sanctity of the place. Once inside the palace, they were astounded by the exquisite murals and ornate Buddha statues.

"Old Li, look at these murals, they’re so intricate! And these Buddha statues are so dignified," Huang Pengfei said as they toured the interior.

Li Xiao nodded. "This is all the crystallization of the Tibetan people’s wisdom. It carries their long history and culture."

After leaving the Potala Palace, they went to Jokhang Temple. In front of the temple, devotees were piously performing full-body prostrations, a moving sight to behold.

"Old Li, these people are so devout! Their dedication to their faith is admirable," Huang Pengfei remarked emotionally.

Li Xiao was also moved by the atmosphere. "The power of faith is limitless. Jokhang Temple is an important monastery in Tibetan Buddhism, and the religious atmosphere here is very strong."

They strolled along Barkhor Street, which surrounds Jokhang Temple, admiring the various distinctive Tibetan handicrafts.

"Wow, these handicrafts are so unique! Look at this thangka, the painting is beautiful." Huang Pengfei was captivated by a shop selling thangkas.

Li Xiao also stopped to look. "Thangkas are a treasure of Tibetan culture. The painting technique is exceptionally skilled."

After their tour of Barkhor Street, they were both hungry again. They decided to try the local cuisine of Lhasa.

"I’ve heard that Lhasa’s butter tea and tsampa are very unique. Let’s go try them," Li Xiao suggested.

"Yeah, yeah! I’ve been wanting to try them for ages," Huang Pengfei said eagerly.
