Chapter 411: Kiera, the Laughing Demon. (Message Chair Bonus Chapter)
Riven fell to the ground, breathing heavily. His chest rose and fell repeatedly.
Sweat rolled down his forehead.
His grip around his broadsword gradually loosened.
For a brief moment, he simply remained seated on the shattered floor, trying to steady his breathing.
’That was close...’
Too close.
Even though he had successfully landed the decisive counterattack, he understood that such an attack could not be used blindly.
It consumed too much of his mana and stamina.
If Neris had managed to dodge the attack, then the fate of the battle might have been different from what it was now.
Perhaps...
The one lying on the ground would have been him.
It was a gamble.
A calculated gamble, and it paid off.
Meanwhile, on the top floor where the battle was still going on in full swing, Kiera was like a human possessed by a demon.
Everywhere she passed, members of the Silver Crest Guild fell one after another. Fresh blood continuously splashed across her armor.
Yet she appeared to enjoy every moment of it.
She hunted the members of the Silver Crest Guild one after another.
Her terrifying laughter echoed throughout the ruined corridor. Just as she prepared to deliver a killing blow to a Level 34 Hunter lying on the ground...
An arrow whistled toward her back.
The arrow cut through the air with astonishing speed. Its target was the back of her head.
"Iron Wind Deflection!"
She swept her axe in a wide horizontal fan, creating a rushing wind barrier that distorted and slowed the incoming arrow.
The violent airflow changed the arrow’s trajectory.
Its speed rapidly diminished.
With a devilish grin, she caught the arrow with ease and looked in the direction of the attack. Her crimson eyes immediately locked onto the hidden Archer.
Without even looking at the figure lying on the ground, she stomped her foot onto his chest.
Crack!
Ahhhh!
A miserable scream escaped from the unfortunate member of the Silver Crest Guild. His ribs collapsed inward and blood poured from his mouth.
His body twitched briefly before becoming completely still.
Dead.
As for Kiera...
She was already walking toward the Archer. Her pace was neither hurried nor slow.
It was steady.
Confident.
Each heavy footstep echoed throughout the ruined passage.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Arrow after arrow cut through the air, targeting Kiera’s vital spots. But to the Archer’s disbelief, Kiera deflected every arrow with astonishing ease.
Some arrows were knocked aside by her axe.
Others were casually slapped away with the broad side of the weapon. Not a single arrow managed to touch her.
The distance between them continued shrinking.
Hiding behind a broken door, the Archer’s face drained of color.
Cold sweat covered her forehead.
Her fingers trembled as she reached for another arrow.
Watching the distance between them rapidly disappear, she hesitated for a moment before making a tactical decision.
Escape.
She turned and pushed her speed to the limit, racing through the ruined guild passage.
She desperately searched for an exit as her heartbeat pounded loudly inside her ears. Just as she thought she had escaped...
A sharp whistling sound came from behind. The sound grew louder at an alarming speed.
Turning her head, her eyes widened in shock.
An axe.
Kiera’s massive axe was right before her eyes.
Bang!
The axe slammed into her head, sending her flying into the distance. She crashed heavily onto the ground with half of her head crushed.
The impact echoed throughout the ruined hallway.
Blood gushed into the air like a broken pipe.
Her body spasmed for a couple of seconds before she stopped breathing.
Thud! Thud!
Kiera arrived calmly and reached out to pick up her weapon, but then she saw a member of her guild on the brink of death.
The guild member was lying on the ground, struggling frantically.
His breathing was ragged.
Blood continuously flowed from several wounds across his body.
The Silver Crest Guild Warrior standing before him slowly raised his blade, preparing to finish him off.
Whoosh!
Without hesitating, she dashed forward in a reckless sprint, holding her axe low and parallel to the ground.
Her speed exploded instantly.
Every step cracked the stone floor beneath her feet.
"Gut Ripper Rush!"
The Warrior, who was ready to deliver the final strike, did not expect an attack from another member of the Crimson Arc Guild.
His entire focus had been on his opponent. He reacted quickly and swung his blade in defense, trying to deflect the incoming attack.
Bang!
Upon impact, the axe drove the blade upward in a savage hooking motion, tearing through the Warrior’s belly and chest.
The terrifying force completely overwhelmed his defense.
His sword was knocked aside.
His armor split apart under the devastating impact.
Fresh blood exploded from the horrifying wound.
The force lifted the Warrior off his feet, leaving him dangling in the air for a brief moment before Kiera sent him flying out the window with a powerful kick.
Crash!
Broken wood scattered everywhere.
His body disappeared through the shattered window before crashing heavily outside the guild headquarters.
Everything happened in one clean, swift motion.
The wounded Crimson Arc Guild member remained frozen where he was.
He could hardly believe what had just happened.
Only moments ago...
He had been staring death in the face.
Now...
His opponent had already been killed.
"Are you okay?" Kiera asked, looking at her stunned teammate.
Her voice remained unusually calm despite the brutal battle surrounding them.
"Ah... yes," he responded with a shaky voice, recovering from the shock.
His entire body trembled uncontrollably with his heart still racing.
"Thank you for saving me." His voice was filled with genuine gratitude.
Kiera did not care about his gratitude as she was already looking for her next target, but she did not forget to add,
"Get your ass off the ground and attend to your injuries. There are still many rats that need to be smashed."
Her tone carried the same savage confidence as always. The young man stared blankly at her departing figure.
For some reason...
Her words reignited the fighting spirit inside him.
With Kiera hunting the powerful members of the guild, slowly the battle inside the Silver Crest Guild was coming to an end.
Those that tried to escape from the guild building met a brutal ending. Surrounding the building was the Twins Party, lying in ambush.
Anyone who escaped the building immediately found themselves surrounded. Since Riven and his team arrived at the Silver Crest Guild, the fate of the Silver Crest Guild had already been sealed.
From the moment they launched the assault...
The outcome had already been decided.
