Global Survival: I Have Endless Skeletons

Chapter 582: The Restricted Zone.

Walking behind the young soldier toward the military dormitory building, Thoren suddenly stopped.

The soldier, still explaining the layout of the Muster Ground, noticed Thoren was no longer following and turned around with a confused expression.

"Young Master?"

Thoren didn’t answer but instead, he reached into his inventory and took out the Vorlath Blood Compass.

The moment it appeared in his hand, its blood-red eye slowly opened, moved, then fixed itself in a particular direction.

His expression stayed unchanged as information flooded into Thoren’s mind. It was a location with several people moving through a restricted area.

The details arrive one after another with startling clarity.

His eyes narrowed slightly.

Deep within the Muster Ground, beneath the section where the top military officials lived, there was a secret facility that only a few people knew existed.

From the outside, nothing looked unusual, the buildings were ordinary military structures, heavily guarded but not particularly suspicious.

But beneath them lay another world entirely, a facility buried underground and concealed even from many high-ranking officers.

The Blood Compass kept feeding him information, revealing a presence connected to the same darkness he had encountered in the Bleeding Desert.

His eyes went cold.

Now he understood why the compass had reacted. He hadn’t come here simply to investigate the military. This was why he was here.

To unearth the location of the Slave Trade Guild and killed them once and for all.

Without a word, he changed direction and began to walk toward the restricted section of the base instead of the dormitory.

When the young soldier saw this, his eyes widened when he realized where Thoren was heading.

"Young Master, that is not the direction of the dormitory," he said, trying to steady his nerves.

Unfortunately, Thoren ignored him and kept walking. his pace neither fast nor slow, without a trace of hesitation.

"Young Master, please wait." He cried.

However, Throen did not even bat an eye at him. His eyes were locked on his target.

"That area is restricted."

"The people stationed there are not ordinary soldiers."

The soldier’s face slowly drained of color.

He’d been ordered to cooperate with Thoren, but those orders hadn’t covered letting him walk straight into a heavily restricted facility.

He glanced ahead at the checkpoints, many armed soldiers stationed. Layers of security beyond them that even senior officers couldn’t casually pass through.

Seeing this, he swallowed hard.

"Young Master, perhaps you’ve misunderstood something." He called out once again.

He wanted to reach out and hold the edge of his cloth but stopped the impulse.

Who knew what would happen if he dared touch his cloth.

As for Thoren, he kept walking.

Covered in perspiration, the soldier hurried to catch up. "Please stop for a moment. I can contact the appropriate officer and arrange access for you."

Thoren ignored him again, his expression perfectly calm.

This time, the young soldier’s heart pounded faster.

He had no idea what Thoren had discovered or why he’d suddenly changed course, but something in his eyes made clear that whatever it was mattered.

Left with no choice, the soldier reached for his communicator.

If he let Thoren walk deeper into the restricted zone without reporting it, he’d be the one held responsible. He fell back several meters and activated the device.

"Sir, this is Private—" He glanced at Thoren’s back.

"Young Master Thoren has changed direction and is entering the restricted section."

The voice on the other end went tense immediately. "What?!"

He lowered his voice. "I tried to stop him, but he isn’t responding." A pause for a second.

"He’s heading toward the inner security—"

Before he could finish, he stopped mid-sentence and his eyes widened.

Something had changed.

Four figures had appeared around Thoren.

Four undead.

The young soldier’s body went rigid.

He recognized them at once. They were the same undead that had accompanied Thoren into Suncrest City.

And the same ones that had torn through the black creatures in Glimmer District, the same ones that had shown everyone exactly how terrifying Thoren’s power truly was.

’This...’

His voice caught in his throat.

He wanted to speak, but nothing came out, a chill running down his spine.

The four undead stood motionless around Thoren with their weapon gleaming.

Their mere presence created a pressure that made the young soldier’s instincts scream.

He wanted to step back.

He wanted to finish his report but his body refused to obey his command and his muscles locked stiff. His fingers froze around the communicator, even his breathing growing difficult.

And all he could do was watch.

Thoren didn’t look back as he kept walking deeper into the restricted zone, the four undead moving with him, their footsteps echoing through the corridor.

Clank. Clank. Clank.

Each step struck against the young soldier’s nerves like a blow. He watched them grow smaller in the distance.

Ahead, the security personnel had already spotted the intruders, and several soldiers raised their weapons.

"Stop!" The order echoed through the restricted section.

Thoren did not stop nor spare them a glance.

The Blood Compass remained in his hand, its blood-red eye still fixed on the hidden facility.

He already knew the direction and he already knew what was waiting for him there. And he had no intention of turning back.

The soldiers ahead tightened their grips as he approached. Some glanced toward the young soldier as if expecting him to intervene.

But he remained frozen.

He desperately wanted to move but his body refused to respond. It was as though some invisible force held him in place while Thoren and his undead pressed deeper into the restricted zone.

The four undead spread out slightly around their master, and their presence alone made the soldiers hesitate.

Everyone had heard the stories.

Everyone knew what these creatures were capable of.

The tension in the air thickened with every step.

Yet Thoren’s expression never changed.

He simply walked forward, deeper and deeper.

As for the soldiers protecting the restricted area, no one dared open fire at him. Just merely staring at him and already shook them to their core.

And staring at the gleaming weapon held by the undeads, all the thought of stopping him vanished from their mind.
