The invisible chime of the bell echoed, but this time, it did not travel through the air. It echoed directly inside the minds of every soldier.

The moment the sound reached their souls, every soldier felt something terrifying happen inside their bodies.

It was as if an invisible hand had reached directly into their chest and grabbed their soul.

The sensation was so sudden and violent that many soldiers could not even understand what was happening.

Their bodies trembled violently while their eyes widened in terror, and for a brief moment, they felt as though their souls were being dragged out of their bodies by some terrifying force.

"Ahhhhh!"

A soldier screamed at the top of his lungs while dropping his thermal rifle.

Bang!

His knees slammed against the ground as both of his hands immediately grabbed his head.

Another soldier collapsed beside him, his entire body spasming violently while foam mixed with blood gathered around his mouth.

Blood slowly dripped from the corner of his lips, running down his chin and falling onto the ground beneath him.

"Ugh!"

"Arghhh!"

"What is happening?!"

The peaceful forest road instantly became chaotic.

The soldiers who had been standing in formation moments ago were now falling apart one after another.

Some dropped their weapons and desperately clutched their heads while others staggered backward, their faces twisted by unimaginable pain.

Their eyes were filled with terror.

There was no wound on their bodies, yet their souls felt as if they were being torn apart.

One soldier slammed his forehead against the ground repeatedly, desperately trying to escape the pain inside his mind.

Another fell onto his back and began spasming continuously, his arms and legs twitching uncontrollably as blood leaked from his nose and mouth.

Their vision blurred.

Some even felt as though they were about to lose consciousness. The captain was among those struggling to remain standing.

His face had turned pale, and his knees trembled beneath him as he clenched his teeth tightly. Blood was already dripping from the corner of his mouth.

He looked toward Thoren with fear that he could not hide.

What kind of power was this?

More importantly, Thoren had not even moved. He simply stood there holding that ordinary-looking bell.

He finally understood that the young man standing before him had never taken their threat seriously.

Before anyone could recover, Thoren raised his hand.

The surrounding space suddenly twisted and a dark figure slowly appeared beside him. Draped in black cloak that covered its body, leaving only its hand which was holding its staff.

It was the level 37 undead illusionist.

The moment the undead Illusionist appeared, an invisible wave spread outward from its staff. A terrifying illusion spread throughout the area at breathtaking speed.

The soldiers thought they had seen the true horror of Thoren power but they were wrong. The true horror was just about to begin.

Thoren did not give them the chance to recover from the confusion as his undead space opened once again.

Two enormous undead Sanguine Vultures appeared above him.

Whoosh!

Their massive wings spread open immediately, causing a violent gust of wind to sweep across the road.

At the same time, two undead shield soldiers appeared beside Thoren.

Their bodies were covered in dark armor while massive shields were firmly held in their hands. They stepped forward like a protector..

Boom!

Their feet slammed into the ground as they stood before Thoren like two immovable fortresses.

Their massive shields completely covered their bodies.

With the undead Illusionist controlling the battlefield and the two shield soldiers protecting him, Thoren did not even need to move.

Everything had happened in a blink.

The soldiers had not even recovered from the terrifying mental attack before four more undead had appeared.

The two Sanguine Vultures immediately took to the sky.

Whoosh!

Their enormous wings flapped violently as their bodies shot upward.

Within seconds, they disappeared into the distorted sky created by the Illusionist. Thoren calmly watched everything unfold with his expression remaining indifferent.

"Kill!"

The moment his voice fell, the four undead moved while the two Sanguine Vultures descended from the sky at terrifying speed.

Whoosh!

The captain gritted his teeth as he forced himself upright. Blood was still dripping from the corner of his mouth.

His head felt like it was being hammered from the inside, yet he knew that if he allowed the soldiers to panic, the entire formation would collapse.

He raised his weapon.

"Fire..."

Whoosh!

From the sky, a bolt red light flashed and disappeared almost immediately.

The captain’s eyes widened as he did not even have time to understand what had happened before his head suddenly separated from his neck.

Thud!

His head fell heavily onto the ground.

For a fraction of a second, every soldier froze, staring at their captain’s head lying in the dirt while blood sprayed from his neck.

His mouth was still half-open as though the final command had been trapped inside his throat.

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

Even the soldiers gripping their weapons seemed to forget how to pull the triggers.

Then reality returned.

"Captain!" One soldier screamed.

Another staggered backward.

"What...?"

"He’s dead!"

"Where did that attack come from?!"

"Look around!"

The soldiers desperately turned their heads.

But there was nothing.

Only trees.

And somewhere within that nightmare, four undead were moving toward them. One soldier finally snapped.

He raised his thermal rifle and pointed it toward the undead servant.

Ta! Ta! Ta!

Whoosh!

He had barely released a couple of shots when a whistling sound echoed in his ear.

His muscles stiffen and his eyes widened.

’What was that?’

That was his last thought before his body was split into two.

Blood sprayed across the ground as his upper body and lower body separated violently, both halves falling in opposite directions.

Thud!

The soldiers stared in horror.

They had watched their comrade die in the most bizarre way.

He had simply been standing there one moment, and the next, an invisible force had cut straight through his body.

The terror on their faces deepened as they slowly looked toward the four undead standing before them.
