Chapter 270: Mana Training

Unlike the chaos happening on Killian’s side, Pandora’s was much more peaceful due to her having fewer ’students’.

As they had aether and not mana, she decided to skip mana circulation training for now and have them broaden their knowledge first.

After all, just as both physical body and aura circulation were important for warriors, swordsmen, and the like, mages need both mana circulation and vast theoretical knowledge.

Pandora, with her emotionless face, scanned the four students under her ’care’ with a satisfied expression on her face while holding a notebook in her hands.

The first person that entered her sight was the huge and muscular Lesfera, who was reading the magic theory book in her hands in a trance.

Even the way she held the book made it seem as if she were holding the most precious treasure in the world.

’Cute.’

Pandora mused internally as she could not help but look at the other party as if she were her very own little sister.

Even though Lesfera treated Regis highly, Pandora did not really lose out to him too much in her eyes.

This was even more true, considering that they were both people who had dedicated themselves to magic.

In addition, what further motivated Lesfera to study was the contents of the magic theory book itself.

Upon closer observation, the book had no cover page: its cover was merely blank, dark brown leather.

This was due to the fact that the magic theory books that she and the others were currently holding were not ones that could be found anywhere, even with the Midas Family’s connections.

The reason for this was none other than the fact that these books were personally written by Pandora herself.

This not only meant that they were currently seeing her perception of magic theory, but they were also reviewing her experiences and feelings whenever she cast magic.

Moreover, Pandora liked the way she asked questions whenever there was something that she was not aware of, such as certain jargon that involved too deep a knowledge.

Thus, although Lesfera had a tall and muscular body, her green eyes that seemed to have an endless thirst for knowledge were fascinating in Pandora’s eyes.

Pandora’s gaze then went over towards the trio just beside Lesfer.

They were none other than the Vanta party, consisting of Vanessa, Brutt, and Perto.

Unlike Lesfera, who treated magic as her main means of attack and her physical prowess secondary, the trio was different.

"Ugh, I’m too stupid for this." Vanessa could not help but mutter under her breath.

Unfortunately for her, Pandora shot a glare in her direction while asking in a mechanical tone, "Did you say something?"

"N-Nothing, Ms. Pandora." She stammered as she replied.

"Hmkay. Make sure to ask me anytime if you don’t understand something."

’I can’t understand anything at all!’ Vanessa shouted in her mind, but kept a smile on her lips.

Seeing that Pandora got back to taking notes in her notebook, only then did she internally heave a sigh of relief.

’She’s scary...’

Although Pandora had always seemed quiet, she seemed unexpectedly strict with them.

Thinking of this, Vanessa took a peek at the two young men beside her.

As expected, Brutt and Perto were both holding their books with trembling hands, their expressions looking as if they were holding on for their dear lives.

Not only did they have their faces practically shoved in right in their books, but low, incomprehensible murmurings could also be heard from them from time to time.

As of the moment, the three of them had been reading the book for half an hour already.

Unfortunately, even though they prepared themselves with the ’basic knowledge’ contained within the magic theory books they were holding still proved to be too complex for them.

Vanessa could not help but complain in her mind.

Due to their experience with the strange monster, they had already resolved themselves to learn at least a bit of magic to supplement their fighting styles.

Unfortunately, the words in the magic theory were like a bucket of cold water being poured over them.

After a few more minutes, Vanessa closed the book, "This isn’t working..."

Beside her, the two young men had already collapsed, foaming from their mouths due to their brains being overloaded.

Lesfera also looked at her, "I-I can help, Sister Vanessa..."

"It’s fine. Maybe this isn’t really meant for us." Vanessa replied with a deep sigh.

"T-Then we can ask Ms. Pandora." Contrary to her intimidating stature, Lesfera had a timid expression on her face.

Pandora kept writing in her notebook, as if unaware of what was happening.

Vanessa glanced at her before looking back at Lesfera and patting her shoulder with an encouraging smile.

"No need. Even with my limited knowledge, I can already tell that this magic theory book is already much simpler than the other books of basic magic theory in the market. It’s just that..."

The sound of a pen being forcefully placed on the table caught the two’s attention as they both thurned towards the direction of the noise.

"Haaaa... Finally finished..."

Pandora let out a deep sigh as she muttered under her breath.

She stood up and walked towards her students, her calm expression never changing.

Seeing her approach them, Vanessa could not help but sit properly.

Even Lesfera could not help but feel uneasy, even though she did not really do anything wrong.

In fact, Brutt and Perto, too, had serious expressions on their faces as they read the book in their hands, though they could not understand it at all.

Oblivious to the pressure they were feeling, Pandora merely handed the notebook to Vanessa.

"This... What is this, Ms. Pandora?" She asked respectfully.

Pandora answered impassively, "I made it simpler. I didn’t mean to make you feel like you’re lacking, I’m sorry."

Although the expression on her face did not change, everyone already knew that she was very apologetic just from the tone of her voice.

"W-What..."

Vanessa did not know what to say, but she still opened the notebook under Pandora’s gaze.

Brutt and Perto also peeked from behind her, curious about its contents.

Even Lesfera could not help but be intrigued, her figure casting a shade over the others as she, too, stood up from her seat.

Flip— Flip— Flip—

As the sounds of flipping pages quietly sounded, the four’s expression began to shift.

"This... This..." Vanessa could not help herself as she seemed to fall into a trance while continuously flipping the notebook’s pages.

Even Brutt and Perto, behind her, had enlightened expressions on their faces.

In fact, Lesfera also had a surprised expression on her face, "To think that it could be understood this way as well..."

The contents of the notebook were essentially just like those of the magic theory book that they were using earlier; it was just that it was extremely simple.

Behind her, Brutt and Perto gave a thumbs-up in agreement.

Seeing their reactions, the corner of Pandora’s lips slightly curled upwards.

"I’m glad. Continue reading for now, I’ll assess your understanding of magic theory later. I’ll also make copies of the notebook, but you need to share for now..."

"Yes, Ms. Pandora!"

’Hehe...’ Pandora smiled slightly at them as she internally felt gleeful in her heart.

Meanwhile, her four students immediately got back to studying.

Just like that, Vanessa, Perto, and Brutt, despite believing that magic was not for them, were able to enjoy the process of learning magic.
