Chapter 1530 - 1529: The Engagement Ceremony Begins

At this moment, Cheng Family!

To welcome today's engagement ceremony, the Cheng Family had made the mansion extravagantly luxurious, the entire Cheng mansion was decorated with lights and festoons, and also laid a long red carpet from the villa entrance straight to the grand courtyard gate!

The escort team for the Cheng Family had already returned with Fang Rongrong from the Fang Family!

At this moment, Fang Rongrong was waiting in Cheng Batian's room, awaiting the arrival of the engagement ceremony!

Looking around at this unfamiliar environment and the scent of an unfamiliar man, Fang Rongrong felt no happiness at all; instead, her heart was filled with sorrow!

Lin Bai's image flashed before her eyes time and time again!

Her beautiful eyes became red, and tears slipped down her cheeks!

"Click~"

Suddenly, without a knock, the tightly closed door was pushed open by someone!

Fang Rongrong, worried that someone would notice she had been crying, hurriedly wiped away the traces of her tears and then looked up!

She saw Cheng Batian, wearing a suit and with a large red flower on his chest, walking into the room, closing the door tightly behind him!

Seeing the charming and piteous Fang Rongrong sitting on the bed, a greedy look immediately appeared in Cheng Batian's eyes; he had been waiting for this day for a long time!

Cheng Batian excitedly walked quickly up to Fang Rongrong and said with a smile: "Wife, how do you feel? Are you hungry? Do you want me to have the kitchen prepare something for you first!"

However, Fang Rongrong did not respond at all, lowering her head and remaining silent!

Cheng Batian was already accustomed to this, so he didn't mind, then he sat directly beside Fang Rongrong!

Seeing this, Fang Rongrong immediately moved her delicate body a few times!

Seeing this, Cheng Batian's eyes flashed with coldness, but looking at Fang Rongrong's graceful figure, thinking of the woman before him soon to become his wife, to be conquered freely on his bed, he quickly concealed that trace of coldness!

"Wife, we're about to be family, no need to be so shy!" Cheng Batian laughed!

Fang Rongrong looked up at Cheng Batian, her gaze icy cold, and said: "Cheng Batian, mind your words, don't call me that recklessly!"

"We're about to be engaged, and after the engagement, our business will be settled. Is it wrong for me to call you wife?" Cheng Batian said!

"As long as we're not engaged for even a second, you are not to call me wife, and please keep some distance from me!"

While speaking, Fang Rongrong moved her delicate body a few more times to increase the distance from Cheng Batian!

Seeing this, Cheng Batian's face immediately turned cold!

Although Cheng Batian had been tolerant of Fang Rongrong, being continuously challenged in his dignity by her, he couldn't take it anymore!

Cheng Batian coldly said: "Fang Rongrong, you aren't still thinking about that Lin boy, are you!"

"No!" Fang Rongrong denied it!

"Hmph! You're lying! Don't think I don't know what you're thinking, that Lin boy, I'll get rid of him sooner or later!" Cheng Batian said fiercely!

"How dare you!"

Upon hearing this, Fang Rongrong immediately shouted: "Cheng Batian, don't forget our agreement, also, although I'm marrying you, all you can get is me, wanting to get my heart is absolutely impossible!"

"You slut, you're still thinking about that damned Lin kid, I'll beat you to death!"

Cheng Batian suddenly raged, raising his arm, and without hesitation, swung it towards Fang Rongrong's face!

Fang Rongrong could not dodge in time, and the slap landed squarely on her face!

"Slap~"

The sharp cracking sound echoed instantly!

A bright red handprint immediately showed on Fang Rongrong's pretty face!

"Cheng Batian, how dare you hit me!" Fang Rongrong shouted!

"You're about to be my woman, yet your heart thinks of other men, I'll teach you what it means to follow wifely virtue!" Cheng Batian shouted!

"You..."

Fang Rongrong bit her teeth hard, but didn't dare to strike Cheng Batian!

Otherwise, if the marriage with Cheng Batian couldn't be completed, the agreement between them would also automatically be canceled, Cheng Batian would still continue to act against Lin Bai!

In this way, not only would Fang Rongrong embarrass the Fang and Cheng families, but she would also offend the Cheng Family while failing to prevent Cheng Batian's revenge on Lin Bai, which would be a losing situation!

"I'll remember this slap!" Fang Rongrong said with a note of coldness!

"Hmph! What about a few slaps? If you dare not follow wifely duties, see how I educate you in the future!" Cheng Batian said coldly!

"Dong~"

Suddenly, the sound of drums came from outside!

Then, "bam bam bam" knocking sounded!

As Cheng Batian said "come in", the door was pushed open and two maids walked in!

The two maids respectfully saluted Cheng Batian and Fang Rongrong, then said: "Young Master, Miss Liu, the auspicious time has arrived, please head to the main hall!"

"Got it, you can leave now!"

Cheng Batian waved them away, then looked at Fang Rongrong, warning: "Hope you don't create any trouble today, or don't blame me for not recognizing you!"

As soon as the words fell, Cheng Batian, regardless of whether Fang Rongrong agreed, grabbed her jade hand and placed it on his arm, pretending to be very affectionate!

Fang Rongrong dared not pull away, fearing they would notice something amiss, and had to pretend to smile as she walked out of the room!

From the doorway to the main hall, the path was entirely lined with red carpet, and everyone they met offered blessings to Cheng Batian and Fang Rongrong, Cheng Batian responded with smiles, while Fang Rongrong's responses appeared very strained!

The engagement banquet in the Martial Arts world was much different from modern times, requiring three stages, the first being to step over a fire basin, representing the couple facing hardships together, united in heart!

The second stage started from the entrance of the main hall, where the couple had to perform three kneels and nine kowtows before their elders!

The third stage was serving tea!

At this time, the main hall was crowded!

Sitting at the head seat were Cheng Qingshan and Fang Yixing, with Cheng Batian's mother and Fang Rongrong's mother sitting on either side!

Then came some notable figures from Demon Island invited by the Cheng Family, Liu Wujian attended personally, while the Li Family sent Li Wudao, giving the Cheng Family enough respect!

"The auspicious time has arrived! Please, the couple, cross the three stages, enter the main hall, perform three kneels and nine kowtows, serve tea and water to the elders, to establish a good marriage! The first stage, cross the fire basin!"

At this moment, a young man hosting the engagement ceremony shouted loudly, his voice clear and distinct in everyone's ears!
