The Identity of the Purple Sword Monarch

This was no longer a dispute between ordinary cultivators.

This was a matter involving the Crown Prince.

And behind the Crown Prince stood Leon.

The General of Ashford City looked at Leon again.

That calm purple gaze met his own for the briefest instant.

The general immediately looked away.

His heart sank.

He finally understood why Cavir Walton had acted so decisively.

Why the people from the Whitelist Restaurant had gathered.

Why Kai had rushed here personally.

Why everyone who seemed to know Leon had reacted with such caution.

He had been standing at the edge of a cliff without realizing it.

And now he had finally looked down.

The abyss was far deeper than he had imagined.

Kai did not respond immediately.

He simply looked at the General of Ashford City.

His expression was cold.

There was no anger visible in his eyes.

That was what made the general more frightened.

Anger could be negotiated with.

Coldness meant judgment had already begun.

The General of Ashford City’s throat tightened.

He bowed even lower.

"Your Highness, please understand. I truly had no intention of becoming your enemy."

Kai remained silent for a moment.

Then his gaze shifted toward James.

James stood several steps away.

His face was pale.

His hands were clenched tightly beneath his sleeves.

He had finally realized that his nephew was not going to protect him.

Quite the opposite.

Kai had come here because of Leon.

And judging from the way he had addressed Leon’s situation, he was prepared to sever every unnecessary connection if that was what it took to prevent the Drake Empire from suffering the consequences.

Kai’s eyes remained cold.

"Hmph..."

The single sound was enough to make the General of Ashford City’s heart jump.

Kai looked at him and then slowly swept his gaze across the soldiers who had gathered behind him.

The soldiers lowered their heads one after another.

No one dared meet his eyes.

The street had become strangely quiet.

Even the people watching from the surrounding buildings could sense that something much larger than a simple confrontation had unfolded.

Kai had not drawn a sword.

He had not released his cultivation pressure.

He had not needed to.

His identity alone was enough.

Then his gaze returned to James and the General of Ashford City.

His expression became colder.

The Crown Prince of the Drake Empire took one slow step forward.

His robes moved with the breeze.

His eyes carried a sharpness that made the atmosphere feel several degrees colder.

"Hmph..."

Kai looked at him coldly and said to them, "Do you know who you offended today?"

The question fell into the street like a stone dropped into a frozen lake.

No one answered immediately.

The soldiers surrounding the area stood rigidly in formation. Their armor gave off faint metallic sounds whenever they shifted their weight, but even those small noises seemed strangely loud beneath the heavy silence.

James and the General of Ashford City exchanged a glance.

Neither of them dared to speak first.

Just moments ago, they had still been relying on their positions and authority. The General of Ashford City had believed that his years of service to the Drake Empire were enough to protect him from most troubles.

James had relied even more heavily on his royal blood.

But now, standing before Kai, neither advantage felt particularly useful.

Their hearts trembled and they quickly asked, "Who is it?"

The words came out almost at the same time.

Kai did not answer immediately.

He slowly walked forward.

His shoulder-length red hair moved gently in the evening breeze, while his blue eyes remained cold and serious.

Every step he took seemed to make the atmosphere heavier.

Behind him, the soldiers remained completely silent.

No one needed to give an order.

They already understood the situation.

This was no longer a dispute between ordinary cultivators.

It was a matter of authority.

More importantly, it was a matter of survival.

Kai stopped a short distance from Leon.

Only then did he turn his gaze toward James and the General of Ashford City.

The two men instinctively straightened.

But neither dared to meet his eyes for long.

Kai slowly walked over and said coldly, "This is Respected Leon from the Amethyst Summit Division of the Celestis Academy, known as the Purple Sword Monarch. How dare you? You even dare to provoke a pinnacle. Do you think you’ve lived too long?"

His voice was not loud.

It did not need to be.

Each word carried enough weight to crush the remaining courage in the hearts of the people present.

The moment his words fell, the entire street seemed to freeze.

The surrounding cultivators stared at Leon.

Some looked at Kai.

Others looked at James and the General of Ashford City.

Then realization spread through the crowd.

One person gasped.

Another instinctively took a step backward.

Someone’s hand even trembled as they tightened their grip around their weapon.

As Kai revealed Leon’s identity, everyone was instantly shocked.

The disbelief on their faces was almost identical.

"Hiss..."

A collective breath of cold air swept through the street.

"This, he’s actually the legendary Purple Sword Monarch, Respected Leon?"

"F*ck, a pinnacle is actually so young..."

"As expected, he’s as elegant as the rumors say."

The whispers spread rapidly.

Nobody dared to speak too loudly.

They were afraid that even a careless word might attract Leon’s attention.

Who hadn’t heard of Leon?

His name had already spread throughout the surrounding kingdoms and Powerful Sects.

Yet very few people had actually seen him with their own eyes.

For most cultivators, the Purple Sword Monarch was little more than a distant figure from rumors.

A legendary swordsman.

A terrifying pinnacle expert.

A man whose strength was difficult to measure.

And yet that legendary existence was standing right in front of them.

Leon remained silent.

His long black hair rested against his midnight robes, the thin amethyst embroidery catching the faint light whenever the wind moved the fabric.

His purple eyes were calm.

Too calm.

There was no arrogance in them.

No excitement.
