Grand Voyage : Surviving on a Ghost Ship
Ch. 358 - The Movements of the Other Fleets
In the past few days, Yang Yi had been browsing the forums and came across a very interesting post. It had also been marked as a Featured Post, written by an editor from a major newspaper.
The editor had gathered information on the movements of several major fleets and recorded it in the post, updating it regularly.
This made things much more convenient. The post had been continuously pinned to the top of the Sea News and Affairs section by players for a long time.
[The Current Status and Movements of the Major Fleets (Continuously Updated)]
The fleets are listed in completely random order and have no particular significance. This is not intended to target any fleet......The post could be viewed at any time, and its information was synchronized and updated after 11:00 every day.
The fleet listed in the very first section was none other than the New World Fleet, led by Shen Guanquan.
The New World Fleet currently had more than ten thousand members. Not only had it returned to its peak, but it had even surpassed its former peak.
The three special ships that had been publicly revealed under its name were the Farmer, Iron Head, and Deep Diver. Their specific data was unknown.
The fleet leader was Shen Guanquan, captain of the Hope.
The New World Fleet was currently staying in the Sea of Miracles. They had found a vast open area of ocean and were preparing to build a new mobile city on the sea, which they had named New Home.
Because the project was both time-consuming and labor-intensive, the New World Fleet was not organizing any activities at the moment. They were devoting all their efforts to basic construction......
The second section belonged to the Iron Brotherhood.
After wiping out a relatively large pirate fleet in the Sea of Miracles, the Iron Brotherhood had obtained a large amount of supplies and purchased a great deal of equipment.
It was said that they had also obtained a highly valuable, high-grade treasure map pointing to a lost ruin. However, it was currently located in the Sea of No Light, and they were preparing to head there.
For certain well-known reasons, they had not yet reached the outer perimeter of the Sea of Miracles.
The third section was rather unexpected. It was actually the One-Eye Fleet, also known as the One-Eye Cult.
This fleet had only been established recently. It was founded by a player whose ID was One-Eyed Big Guy No. 37. All of its members had the habit of wearing eye patches or one-eyed sunglasses.
This fleet behaved in a strange manner. Its members always operated in small groups, liked interacting with the natives, and spread their faith among them. They had even made a statue of their god, using a photo of Yang Yi from when he had once gained weight as the template, combined with their own artistic additions.
Players had already discovered shrines and churches dedicated to the Great One-Eye God on uninhabited islands. These were probably built by those people.
It seemed they had essentially left their mark everywhere they went, because aside from the rocks, almost everything else on those islands had already been stripped away. There were barely even any blades of grass left......
The fourth section belonged to the Traveling Group.
The Traveling Group had partnered with the major newspaper and had already completed one-fifth of a detailed, updated nautical map of the Sea of Miracles.
They had also figured out the distribution of the various factions within the Sea of Miracles.
Within approximately 3,000 nautical miles around the Holy City, in the area where the gigantic gate that reached straight into the sky could be seen, it was considered a high-risk zone. Certain actions could provoke an attack from the Holy Radiant Church, and some players had already suffered because of this.
Within this area, there were more than 20 hours of daylight each day.
Once they reached an area more than 100,000 nautical miles away from the Holy City, the duration of daylight would decrease to around 12 hours. Ships belonging to the Holy Radiant Church could still be seen frequently, and the vast majority of the natives believed in the Holy Radiant Church and were under its protection.
Beyond 100,000 nautical miles, the duration of daylight would gradually decrease, eventually dropping below 12 hours per day.
At this distance, the influence of the Holy Radiant Church was no longer as strong. Players could move around more freely, and their exposure levels would not increase as frequently or as dramatically.
Farther out, the duration of sunlight would become shorter and shorter.
Eventually, it would become zero, indicating entry into the Sea of No Light.
The fifth section........
Yang Yi read through the entire post. Players were prohibited from creating additional floors in the thread and could only leave comments at the bottom of the corresponding section.
There were dozens of fleets listed inside, but not every fleet had detailed information. Many only had their names listed, and Yang Yi had never even heard of some of them.
He only paid attention to the movements of a few particular fleets.
For example, there was the Lost Hometown Fleet. The information that these guys ate people had already been written in the post, publicly warning other players to approach them with caution.
Then there was the New Humanity Fleet. Those people seemed to have disappeared. They had shown no activity since their battle with the Iron Brotherhood.
There was also a fleet called Eden, which Yang Yi had paid some attention to as well. However, there was very little information about them. Apparently, they required recruits to have good looks, and their attributes and talents could not be too poor.
In short, they were quite mysterious.
Yang Yi casually flipped through his book a couple of times, and before he knew it, it was 11:00 again.
But this time, the World Chat Channel had not opened.
Neither had the Trading Channel nor the Forum.
“How could this be?”
Yang Yi immediately stood up, knocking against his chair. The noise was so loud that even Tricia heard it.
“What happened?”
“You don’t have the authority to know. Even if I told you, you wouldn’t understand!”
“Then forget it!” Tricia’s head, which had poked out, disappeared back inside.
Yang Yi immediately contacted Suna.
“Suna, stop practicing your dancing for now. Quickly check the chat interface. It looks like the World Channel has stopped working!”
He was a little anxious. After all, this concerned their very survival. Having access to the World Chat and Trading Channels and having no access to them were two completely different matters.
“This isn’t dancing. It’s part of an alchemy ritual. What the hell do you know!”
Suna rarely swore, but she immediately noticed something was wrong as well. The World Chat Channel... really hadn’t opened.
At this moment, all the players who were awake were probably somewhat panicked, worried that the World Chat Channel might be permanently shut down.
Fortunately, it was just a false alarm. At 11:03, all players received a system notification.
【System update complete. Current progress has reached 100%. Clues regarding some players’ islands have been revealed. Points have been distributed. Vending machine products have been updated... 】
“So it was just a system update.”
Yang Yi breathed a sigh of relief.
He had already prepared himself for the worst just now. Fortunately, things hadn’t gotten that bad. In fact, they had gotten better.
【You discovered a key clue regarding Moon Island. Player rewarded with 10,000 points. You discovered a clue regarding Garbage Island. Player rewarded with 1,000 points. As the first player to discover a clue regarding Moon Island, you receive an additional 10,000 points. As the first player to discover a clue regarding Garbage Island, you receive an additional 10,000 points. Total reward: 40,211 points.】
Adding these reward points to the points Yang Yi had previously saved, the total number of points in his account came to 42,740.
If he pooled them together with Suna’s points, perhaps they could do another gacha draw.
“Suna, how many points do you have?” Yang Yi immediately asked.
“Why should I tell you?”
“Are you angry?”
“Don’t forget, you still owe me 20,000 points. Hurry up and transfer them back to me!”
Suna started bringing up an old debt. Her memory was surprisingly good.
“Weren’t those points given to me? I still have to pay them back?”
“I told you I was lending them to you!”
Yang Yi knew Suna was doing it on purpose, so he decisively transferred 20,000 points to her.
Anyway, when the time came to use the points, she would have to come to the captain’s cabin to use them as well. There was no real difference…
