Ch. 360 - The Black Parrot Pirate Crew

Yang Yi made another trip to the Witch’s Laboratory and retrieved the ordinary books from Suna’s side. He planned to send the covers of these books to Song Yingwen and have him give him a price.

But the magic books were excluded.

Many books of this type had restrictions on the number of times they could be read. The information contained within them could not simply be conveyed by taking a photo or making a copy.

For example, in the half-destroyed alchemy manual in Suna’s possession, some of the words and diagrams would even move periodically. Yang Yi had no idea how Suna managed to read it.

Yang Yi casually glanced at the contents of the book. Suna quietly stood to the side, wearing her witch's casual clothes, though the patterns on her face had not yet been wiped off.

“Does it look good?” Suna asked faintly.

Yang Yi shuddered. He realized that he had actually become absorbed in looking at it. The feeling was just like watching a moving comic—the passage of time had gone unnoticed.

However, he quickly came back to his senses and closed the book.

“It really does look good!”

Yang Yi’s words carried a deeper meaning. He took the books back to the captain’s cabin, hurriedly photographed them, and sent the pictures to Song Yingwen. He deliberately included the price tags on the back covers of the books in the photos as well.

However, the result was not as good as Yang Yi had expected. Quite a few of the books had already been provided by other players, mainly books originating from the Sea of Miracles.

It seemed that quite a number of players were buying books from the natives.

After removing the duplicate books, there were only a little over forty books left. This did not include the magic books, nor did it include that Hot Mermaid Paradise.

The reason was that books that had already been sold would have the uploader’s name printed on the cover of their electronic-book version, so Yang Yi did not want to send those.

Song Yingwen quickly gave him a quote. Basically, he was offering 1.5 times the price listed on the book’s bookmark.

The book that taught people how to commit suicide was given an especially high price of 150,000 Seashell Coins.

Since Yang Yi had a good reputation, Song Yingwen directly transferred the payment in advance.

The total was 732,000 Seashell Coins.

Afterward, Yang Yi promised that within 48 hours, he would photograph all forty-plus books and send the pictures to Song Yingwen.

After finishing all of this, it was already close to midnight.

Yang Yi prepared to go to bed and rest. Before sleeping, he checked the forum one more time and discovered several more posts worth paying attention to.

The first was a recruitment post.

[Black Parrot Pirate Crew Recruitment Post: Level-6 Pirate Ship Captain! One Raid, One Success! We Specialize in Robbing Natives!]

“Pirate ship?”

Yang Yi raised an eyebrow.

The blueprint for this special ship was something he had sold to Shen Guanquan. It seemed that this guy had used the blueprint, and he had used it on a Level-6 ordinary ship, directly turning that ship into a Level-6 special ship.

This could be considered an advantage of ordinary ships. They could use a blueprint to directly transform into a higher-level special ship.

But Yang Yi now understood this advantage more deeply and knew that it also had its drawbacks.

When a special ship was upgraded, it would sometimes obtain different skills and traits depending on the materials used.

By directly using a blueprint, those additional traits would probably be lost.

In reality, this was also a kind of hidden loss. It was just that the loss was not particularly significant and would only slightly affect the ship’s upper limit.

He opened the post and checked its contents.

[Are you troubled because your acting skills are too poor and your vocabulary is too limited?

Are you frustrated because you don’t know how to communicate with the natives?

Let’s put aside all these unnecessary formalities!

As long as you join the Black Parrot Pirate Crew, you won’t need to communicate with the natives anymore!

Just follow me and carry out the Three Lights Policy. After all, that’s what the native pirate crews do too!

Players who want to join, sign up immediately. Send me a private message, give me the name Wu Jinshui, and attach your personal status panel. I’ll reply within 24 hours.......

After reading the recruitment post, Yang Yi unconsciously stroked the beard on his chin.

This pirate crew was obviously a branch crew established by Shen Guanquan. The supplies they robbed would probably all be used to develop their new homeland.

The second-floor reply of the post also included information about the Level-6 pirate ship. Its purpose was to attract even more players.

If nothing unexpected happened, this might be the first Level-6 special ship among the players.

【Pirate Ship, Level 6, Durability 26,000/26,000, Capacity 120,000 units, Speed 70 knots】

【Ship Skills:

Pirate Assault: Can be activated when pursuing and approaching a ship. Increases speed by 50% for 20 minutes. Cooldown: four hours.

Pirate Grappling Hooks: Possesses thirty grappling hooks distributed along the ship’s sides and masts. They can firmly latch onto objects or the hulls of ships and are difficult to cut or tear off. The grappling hooks can also be used to directly jump onto the deck of a nearby ship, allowing the user to quickly initiate boarding combat.

Pirate Instinct: Once per day, scans an area within 1,000 nautical miles, finds one big fat sheep, a high-value target, and tracks it. If no target is found, the skill can be activated one additional time that day.

Pirate Wisdom: Increases the materials obtained from dismantling ships by 50%. There is a chance of obtaining special ship equipment as loot.】

【Description: I’m Determined to Become the Pirate King!】

This was the first time Yang Yi had obtained the attributes of a high-level ship other than the Nightmare Star.

And it was a Level 6 ship, one level higher than the Nightmare Star.

Although he did not know the attributes of its expandable structures, especially its special structures, this was still enough for comparison.

Compared to the Nightmare Star, this ship had obvious advantages in both movement speed and capacity. Especially after activating its skill, it would probably be able to catch up with the Nightmare Star with ease.

However, if a battle broke out, the outcome was difficult to say. It would depend on the strength of the crew, as well as the effects of the buildings and ship equipment aboard.

If only the ship’s own combat power were taken into consideration, the Nightmare Star would probably still win.

Its recovery ability, Ancient Corpse Arms, and vines could easily suppress the Pirate Ship.

Moreover, the Nightmare Star would detect the Pirate Ship approaching in advance, so it would not be caught off guard by a surprise attack.

“This ship is more suited for robbery than exploration.”

Yang Yi muttered to himself. He closed the post and began checking another post that had caught his attention.

【Seeking One-Eyed God Statues, Reward: 100,000 Seashell Coins!】

The poster was naturally the deputy leader of the One-Eyed Cult, Ma Dabao.

Yang Yi clicked into the post and took a look. He discovered that the requirements for the statue were:

Fat, wearing an eyepatch, huge in stature. Everything else was up to the creator. It had to be awe-inspiring, and the more bizarre and uncanny, the better.

As a result, all kinds of bizarre statues imagined by the players were being posted below.

Those with some knowledge of art were fine. They drew three-dimensional designs, and the overall structures were relatively reasonable.

Those who knew nothing about art were simply causing trouble, even submitting abstract stick-figure drawings.

There were things like a one-eyed octopus with a human head, a giant one-eyed fleshball, and a giant one-eyed worm; everything imaginable had been brought out.

Even the species had been changed several times.

If this continued, they might not even be able to preserve its gender. Some outrageous players had already begun trying to draw a giant, fat, one-eyed old woman.

Yang Yi immediately contacted Ma Dabao.

“Is this what you meant by putting the membership fees to good use?”

“Uh…”

“But the god statue is very important. It’s the soul of a cult. We have to establish a unified standard.”

Ma Dabao replied nervously.

“How about this? Transfer the money to me. I’ll decide what the statue looks like.”

“That’s certainly fine. It’s just that this post can’t be taken down anymore.”

“No problem. I’ll just create a new alt account and post it.”
