Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1987: Intel Collected

Chapter 1987: Intel Collected

Crystal City

Manager Lara contacted Lady Charlotte in front of me. I thought it would not be easy to contact her; she would be busy. And that was exactly what happened.

Lara tried to connect multiple times. She then looked towards me and said, "She is not picking it up. What should we do?"

"Why don’t we send it to the news media? They will make it trending news," I said to her.

At that, Lara’s face changed. She shook her head before saying, "It’s not wise to do that now. The Mage Union has mobilized the Magic Towers for a mission."

"They don’t want any distractions to happen," she added.

"But he already did that. Forbidden Wizard Remi was not afraid of the consequences," I said in a calm tone.

"The Mage Union is facing some external threats right now. Do you think they would punish a Forbidden Wizard for a Supreme Wizard?" Lara said.

"We can discuss it with Lady Charlotte later. The higher-ups may have other plans. If you do it on your own, it will create a bad impression," she said.

"Alright," I said. I agreed with her.

We then spoke for half an hour before she left. She had come here to deliver the items, and she had work to do in the Silver Tower.

Not long after she left the place, the other members started coming back. Patrick and Otto returned first.

When they entered the office room, their faces showed surprise and curiosity.

"Master, are you alright?"

"I heard a Forbidden Wizard broke into the place," Otto said.

"Word is that the Forbidden Wizard is likely from the Black Tower," Patrick interjected.

Hearing that, I told them to take a seat first. The two of them sat opposite me. Patrick and Otto were slightly nervous but trying to relax.

They wanted to know what had happened.

"Relax, I know what you guys are thinking."

"There is a reason why I sent you out yesterday. The Forbidden Wizard did come from the Black Tower. He came here last night."

"He must have wanted to confront me, but I was not here," I said with a smile.

Hearing that, Patrick and Otto’s hearts set off storms. To think their Master had handled a Forbidden Wizard alone-they were deeply shocked inside.

If they had been present here, they would have become a burden to him. They felt helpless for the first time, feeling like they were not being useful to their Master.

I saw through their thoughts.

"I don’t need your help in dealing with them. All I want is your help with intel gathering. Don’t forget the real reason for starting the appraisal shop," I said to them.

Patrick and Otto’s expressions eased after that.

"Master, you are right. We can help you gather intel. We did find some interesting things during our task," Otto said.

He then started revealing the intel. I began to listen attentively. At this time, every piece of information was important to me.

"The wizard families in Crystal City and in nearby cities have dispatched their elite wizard teams to help the allied Magic Towers," Otto said.

A quick gleam appeared in my eyes. I knew the wizard families might help, but I didn’t expect them to get involved this deeply.

"Master, the wizard families are tempted by the rewards. The different factions in each Magic Tower are going to compete."

"They have their own main team, support team, and a team to gather intel," Patrick said in a solemn tone.

My thoughts gained some clarity. Now I understood why Manager Lara said that the support of a family is important.

Everyone is working like a machine, and I’m the one without support. We spoke for a few minutes, and then I told them to get some rest.

Patrick and Otto left the room. I leaned against my seat, my eyes flashing with a glint. Now, Hank and old man Rock were yet to come. I didn’t know what ground they had covered.

Their magic power was not inclined towards intel gathering. At best, they could get information from the stall owners and hawkers.

The real high-level intel could be expected from the Zero Puppet. I took my device out and began to watch the online news.

One hour later,

Hank and old man Rock returned to the shop. Then they came to see me. I told them to sit. Both of them sat on the chairs opposite me.

"Master, how are you doing?" Hank asked.

"I’m doing fine. What about you guys?"

"Did you guys find anything useful?" I asked.

"Master, we went to all the public gatherings. We heard from the public that the Wizard forces have released their wizard seeds and other hidden talents for the mission," Hank said in a solemn tone.

"I have never seen the Magic Towers prepare like this. On one hand, it may appear exciting, but it shows that the enemy is not an easy one."

"With my decades of experience, I can tell that the enemy is a dangerous force. So much so that the Magic Towers are threatened by them," old man Rock said in a solemn tone.

I listened to their words and digested the information with a serious expression.

Then I thanked them for their work and told them to leave. Next, I waited for the Zero Puppet to arrive. Once the Zero Puppet came back, I would devise a plan for the mission.

Time passed,

Many locals who had heard about the robbery visited the shop. Otto, Patrick, and Hank spoke to them.

They assured them that the shop was not smashed and that only a few items were stolen. Appraiser Frank was busy with his mission, which was why he was not here.

The locals then left the place satisfied. They had been worried that something happened to shop owner Frank, but nothing like that had occurred.

That evening, the Zero Puppet, in its red smoke form, entered the room through the window.

I was resting inside the room when I saw the Zero Puppet revert back to its original form. I rolled over to get on my feet, then I walked up to the Zero Puppet.

The Zero Puppet was in its black-clad steel form.

"Did you find anything?" I asked.

"Yes, Master," the Zero Puppet replied.
