Chapter 459: Chapter 326: Reactions from All Parties, The Struggle for Succession

When Wu Liangchen returned to the rooftop, Song Ling’Er had already dismantled and organized the firearms.

"Well done."

Song Ling’Er had been feeling down for failing to hit her target. But upon hearing his praise, she broke into a brilliant smile.

For the first time, she felt her own worth. It was faint, but it was at least proof that she was no longer a burden.

"Let’s go!" Wu Liangchen picked up the gun bag and left with Song Ling’Er.

Not more than a dozen minutes after they left, a large force arrived on the scene.

The modified off-road vehicles were emblazoned with the insignia of the Sun Corporation, and they carried the Sun family’s most elite security personnel.

Although they had been briefed on the situation, the men were still stunned when they saw the scene with their own eyes.

The once-resplendent bar had been completely razed. Broken walls and ruins were everywhere, and even the street was covered in deep scars from the fight.

"Seal off the scene! No one gets in or out! Start checking all the surrounding buildings!" the leader of the security team ordered immediately, having spotted a utility pole that had clearly been shattered by a high-powered sniper rifle.

"Yes, sir!"

The men began their work in an orderly fashion. Just then, a luxury car pulled right up to the scene. The door opened, and Sun Fusheng stepped out.

"Elder Sun!" The young man in charge immediately bowed.

Sun Fusheng, however, didn’t even spare him a glance, walking expressionlessly to stand before Xue Zhanhu’s corpse.

As one of Qing Province’s most influential figures, he naturally wouldn’t have associated much with a low-level gang leader like Xue Zhanhu.

But he knew Xue Zhanhu’s strength was nothing to scoff at; otherwise, he never would have made such a fearsome name for himself in the criminal underworld.

But now, all of that had washed away.

His head was gone, leaving only a massive, headless corpse lying in the street—a truly ghastly sight.

Sun Fusheng gave a slight wave, and a dignified-looking middle-aged man stepped forward to examine the corpse.

A moment later, the man rose and reported to Sun Fusheng.

"Judging by the angle and smoothness of the cut, this Wu Liangchen’s blade work is masterful. I also found evidence of multiple internal injuries on Xue Zhanhu’s body, caused by immense concussive force. Taking both of these into account..." The middle-aged man paused, then said gravely,

"This Wu Liangchen’s martial Cultivation... I fear it’s on par with that of an ordinary Martial Artist who has perceived the divine."

At these words, Sun Fusheng’s gaze flickered, and he sank into deep thought.

Just then, the security team leader approached with a man in custody.

"Elder Sun, we found this kid during our search. He says he’s with the Tiger Slayer Gang."

"Oh?" Sun Fusheng turned to the man. "What is your name?"

"Rep... replying to you, Elder. My name is Ding Tao."

When the chaotic battle broke out in the bar, Ding Tao saw things were going south and immediately fled.

But he hadn’t dared to go far, because he didn’t know how the situation would unfold. If Xue Zhanhu won and found out he’d fled prematurely, he would surely face severe punishment.

So he found a hidden corner to hide in, intending to wait until things settled down before deciding his next move. He never expected to be caught by the Sun family’s men.

To avoid being killed by mistake, he had no choice but to reveal his identity, which was how he ended up here.

"Since you’re with the Tiger Slayer Gang, did you see exactly what happened?" Sun Fusheng asked.

"I... I saw it!" Ding Tao nodded.

Sun Fusheng’s eyes lit up. "Good. Tell me everything in detail. Don’t leave a single thing out. When you’re finished, not only will I let you go, but I’ll give you a handsome sum of money."

Ding Tao finally let out a long sigh of relief. ’No matter what, my life is saved.’ With that, he spilled everything he had seen.

When he heard the name Tian Yushi, Sun Fusheng paused for a moment, then asked, "This Tian Yushi you mentioned... is she from the Tian family?"

"That’s right. I heard the Gang Leader say she was the so-called genius girl of the Tian family."

The fact that Tian Yushi had secretly allied with Xue Zhanhu to deal with Wu Liangchen was not yet public knowledge, as it had all happened very recently.

After hearing the full story, Sun Fusheng almost instantly understood Tian Yushi’s intentions.

’She was clearly making a play for Wu Liangchen.’

He wasn’t angry about it, though. After all, such things were commonplace among the powerful elite like them.

’Hadn’t the Sun family also tried to capture Wu Liangchen to claim the Martial Vein in his body for themselves?’

’The only thing that surprised him was that Tian Yushi was a level-four Adept!’

’And yet, even with that kind of power, and even when joining forces with Xue Zhanhu, she still failed.’

’So just how strong is this Wu Liangchen?’

At this thought, Sun Fusheng’s heart sank, and his expression darkened.

’But what’s done is done. There’s no point in saying anything else.’

’After paying such a heavy price in men and materials—sacrificing Sun Lingchen and an entire Heaven’s Punishment Squad—if we backed down now, how could the Sun family ever hold their heads high again?’

With this in mind, Sun Fusheng took a deep breath. He waved a hand, signaling his men to take Ding Tao away, then turned to the middle-aged man.

"Damage like this... it obviously wasn’t caused by an ordinary weapon. Investigate the arms black market. Find out who his supplier was. Then, whether you have to threaten or bribe them, I don’t care. In short, you must drag this Wu Liangchen out of hiding."
