Great, It's the Pervy Neighbor. We're Doomed

Chapter 850: Death Shooting Range

  • Next Chapter

"I just looked it up online. There are shooting ranges like this in the country, but they're all in big cities. Nancheng City definitely doesn't have one."

The Silver-Haired Guy held his phone and said.

The Pink Long-Haired Girl looked a bit disappointed: "Oh, really... forget it then... And even if Nancheng City did have one, we couldn't afford it anyway."

The Purple-Haired Guy suddenly grinned lecherously: "Who says so? If you want to play, I can let you play right now."

The Pink Long-Haired Girl didn't catch his meaning.

But then she saw the Purple-Haired Guy thrust his hips forward.

She froze for a moment, then smiled: "You're so naughty. What's going on in that head of yours?"

The Purple-Haired Guy laughed: "Didn't you want to play with a gun? How could I not satisfy my baby?"

The Silver-Haired Guy beside them watched these two flirting and messing around. On the surface, he showed nothing, but inside, he felt pretty annoyed.

Because the Pink Long-Haired Girl used to be his girlfriend.

Now she was the Purple-Haired Guy's girlfriend.

"Ah, speaking of which, I suddenly gotta take a dump. You two stay here. I'm gonna hit the restroom. I shouldn't have eaten so many dumplings tonight."

The Purple-Haired Guy clutched his stomach anxiously as he spoke, said this to the Silver-Haired Guy and his own girlfriend—the Pink Long-Haired Girl—then vanished from their sight in a flash, sprinting toward the bathroom.

"Ugh, he really knows how to ruin the mood."

The Pink Long-Haired Girl said with some dissatisfaction, but despite her words, she shifted her attention back to the modern compound bow in her hands. Since it was a modern compound bow, it had various assist mechanisms built in. So even though she was a girl with little strength, she could still pull it.

She and the Silver-Haired Guy were currently standing in the shooting range's archery area. They had all the lights on here too. From this spot to the farthest target, everything was crystal clear, completely unaffected by the darkness.

Whoosh!

The Pink Long-Haired Girl mimicked the archery stance of Olympic athletes she'd seen on TV and loosed an arrow. The arrow flew out, but it missed the target.

The Silver-Haired Guy didn't do much better. He shot an arrow too, and his also missed the target.

"Man, this is pretty tough."

The Silver-Haired Guy—guys like him always had a strong interest in cold weapons and modern firearms—was clearly getting hooked.

After all, he'd never played with this kind of bow and arrow before, only seen it on TV.

Especially if someone like him wanted to play with this kind of bow and arrow at a proper shooting range.

He'd have to shell out quite a bit of money, but here it was free.

So the Silver-Haired Guy's attention wasn't on his ex-girlfriend at all. It was entirely focused on the modern compound bow in his hands. He started shooting arrow after arrow.

Maybe she got bored. After firing five or six arrows, the Pink Long-Haired Girl tossed the modern compound bow onto the platform in front of her, then turned to watch the Silver-Haired Guy, who was still shooting.

She asked: "How do you think Zheng Zihan managed to live in a place like this?"

"This place is way too awesome! Besides being beautiful and nice to live in, there are so many fun spots, and they're all free to use. I looked it up online—the housing price here was 50,000 per square meter before, and now it's gone up to 60,000!"

"Do you think Zheng Zihan might have always been a rich second generation?"

"Rich second generation?"

The Silver-Haired Guy didn't stop shooting: "No idea. We've all been living together and playing together for so long, but out of all of us, there aren't many I really know well."

"If you're saying she's a rich second generation, I don't think that's likely either. If she really were one, why would she be hanging out with a bunch of poor folks like us?"

The Pink Long-Haired Girl looked thoughtful: "That makes sense."

"Huh, wait. He's been in the bathroom for so long. Why hasn't my boyfriend come back yet?"

The Silver-Haired Guy was unconcerned: "Maybe he's constipated! Or maybe he ran into some girl in the bathroom and got lucky."

"Pfft! Don't badmouth my boyfriend, or I'll tell him!"

The Silver-Haired Guy chuckled.

Another ten minutes or so passed.

The Pink Long-Haired Girl took out her phone and checked it, then said to the Silver-Haired Guy:

"Something's not right! Even if he didn't come back, I sent him a message and he didn't reply."

The Silver-Haired Guy yawned and put down his compound bow: "Alright, let's go find him in the bathroom together. I need to go too anyway."

So the two of them headed to the shooting range's restroom.

Since they weren't familiar with the shooting range and it was nighttime, it took them seven or eight minutes of fumbling around to find the restroom.

But just as they reached the restroom entrance.

Both of their footsteps stopped.

Because...

"Hey, do you smell something?"

The Silver-Haired Guy asked.

The Pink Long-Haired Girl nodded: "I do. It's a bit fishy, and it smells like rust."

The Silver-Haired Guy walked toward the men's restroom and called inside: "Hey, buddy! Still on the toilet? If you keep sitting there, be careful you don't fall into the pit and die in there! You bastard, you're not even replying to messages?!"

No answer.

The Pink Long-Haired Girl watched the Silver-Haired Guy enter the men's restroom.

She followed him in.

But as she reached the entrance of the men's restroom, she bumped into the Silver-Haired Guy's back.

"Why are you stopping here?"

The Pink Long-Haired Girl stepped to the side.

Then, as she moved past the Silver-Haired Guy's tall back, she could see the scene ahead.

In an instant, she stopped too.

Frozen solid.

Both of their gazes were fixed on the men's restroom, on the very last stall.

There, on the floor outside that stall, was nothing but blood.

And a pair of sneakers-wearing feet was sticking out from the stall door, which was open about a third.

Both the Silver-Haired Guy and the Pink Long-Haired Girl recognized those sneakers.

They were the Purple-Haired Guy's shoes.

The Pink Long-Haired Girl had bought them with a month's worth of wages from her part-time job.

The Purple-Haired Guy had treasured them like crazy at the time.

Gulp!

The sound of swallowing saliva.

The Silver-Haired Guy's whole body trembled slightly. He opened his mouth, and his voice shook just like his body: "Hey! Buddy! Don't play any pranks!"

The Silver-Haired Guy hoped, just like his words said, that it was a prank.

But his wildly pounding heart and the all-too-real blood couldn't prove this was a prank.

The Silver-Haired Guy was braver after all.

He stepped forward.

As he got closer, the smell of blood in his nostrils grew heavier.

It had a rusty, fishy odor, and also felt oppressive and suffocating.

In front of the stall door, his right hand slowly reached out. Two fingers touched the stall door.

Then, with a slight push of those two fingers, he slowly pulled the door open.

Bang!

When the door was open wide enough to see the scene inside the stall.

The Silver-Haired Guy stumbled backward, fell, and almost banged his head on the urinal behind him.

His face was filled with terror, as if he'd seen a ghost.

The Pink Long-Haired Girl walked over with cautious steps.

Her movements were also extremely slow.

Even the way she stretched her neck to look into the stall was incredibly slow, as if afraid that a single glance at something too horrifying and terrifying would be too much for her to handle, without enough psychological fortitude, and would scare her out of her wits.
