Jiang Ran smacked his lips: "I see. Zhang Xue isn't at a loss either, after all, the golden-egg-laying hen is in her hands."

"Hey, what about their house and car?"

Wang Qingzhao: "The house and car both go to Zhang Xue. Those aren't worth much anyway; to them, it's just pocket change."

Jiang Ran: "I see... So, your team is now just Zhang Xue, Zhao Yiwan, and the newly added you? Has Qin Chuan come back?"

Wang Qingzhao: "After Qin Chuan returned to Nancheng City, he came to find Zhang Xue and Zhao Yiwan, begging to rejoin the team."

"But Zhang Xue refused him. Of course, Qin Chuan hasn't fully given up, since he also found out about Gao Yang and Zhang Xue's breakup."

The other end of the phone suddenly hesitated for a few seconds, then: "Jiang Ran, Zhang Xue asked me to ask you, do you want to switch teams? Coincidentally, our team is short two people."

Jiang Ran never expected to be invited. He thought for a moment before answering over the phone: "Not for now. Maybe later!"

Wang Qingzhao: "Alright, later it is."

The two chatted a bit more, then the call ended.

Letting out a long sigh, Jiang Ran thought to himself: "I still have 50 alternate personalities inside me. Until I send every last one of them away, I absolutely cannot switch jobs."

"After all, if I switch jobs, where would I go to earn points?"

Jiang Ran hung up the phone and turned around, only to be startled by someone.

It was Kim Yoon-ah, who bore an uncanny resemblance to Korean actress Kim Ji-won.

She had appeared behind him at some point, and the moment he turned, she immediately wrapped her arms around him.

"Jiang Ran oppa, how are you?"

Jiang Ran raised both hands, instantly not knowing where to put them.

"Hey, hold on a second."

Kim Yoon-ah obediently stopped.

She released Jiang Ran.

Jiang Ran sized up the Kim Yoon-ah before him. Still as beautiful as ever.

The fragrance of flowers wafted over, offering a feast for the eyes and soul.

But Jiang Ran truly still didn't know that Kim Yoon-ah was a full-blooded man with the equipment to prove it.

Of course, some men didn't really care about that sort of thing. As long as they were pretty.

Male or female, who cares. Just go for it.

"You haven't gone back to Korea yet?"

"I went back once, then came over to play again!"

Kim Yoon-ah said with both hands clasped behind her slender waist. Since the weather was getting hotter, today she wore a black tight-fitting outfit that perfectly accentuated her upper body proportions.

Her waist was slim, and her assets were quite impressive.

Of course, after saying that, Kim Yoon-ah grumbled inwardly: "The hell I went back! How am I supposed to go back?!"

Jiang Ran: "How's your cousin, Manager Xiao Zhang, been lately? I've sent him messages sometimes, but he never replies."

Kim Yoon-ah rolled her eyes internally, hard.

Seriously, why did he have to ask about that building manager Xiao Zhang every time they met after a long absence?

"My cousin also went to Korea. Working over there. The wages are higher."

Jiang Ran nodded: "I see! Since you're here, help me out with some stuff!"

Jiang Ran took Kim Yoon-ah's delicate hand and pulled her to the activity room.

After bringing her to the activity room, Jiang Ran introduced Kim Yoon-ah to the two building managers who were busy working inside. Upon hearing they had an extra pair of free hands, the two were naturally delighted.

Kim Yoon-ah truly hadn't expected to be dragged over here as free labor...

Eh, whatever. Staying home every day watching TV was boring anyway. Consider it exercise.

Jiang Ran was wiping down tables when someone suddenly called his name.

He turned around and saw Yang Qi.

Yang Qi had probably come to deliver packages for Alice Apartment.

Jiang Ran thus walked out of the building with Yang Qi to talk.

"I reported him to the authorities."

That one short sentence revealed the final outcome for Tang Jia.

Jiang Ran was shocked: "Did you find solid evidence that he's the killer?"

Yang Qi actually pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and asked Jiang Ran if he wanted one.

Jiang Ran certainly didn't, so Yang Qi took one out for himself and lit up.

Jiang Ran: "I thought you didn't smoke?"

Yang Qi held the cigarette between his lips and smiled: "Can't help it. Got things weighing on my mind. Coffee can't suppress it anymore."

Jiang Ran understood. It must be the matter of reporting Tang Jia that was troubling him. After all, Tang Jia was a playmate he'd grown up with since kindergarten.

Yang Qi took several deep drags before slowly answering Jiang Ran's earlier question:

"I didn't find evidence, but there's something I never told you. I installed several pinhole cameras in his home. Just a spur-of-the-moment thing when I snuck in last time."

"After I finished talking with you this morning, I snuck into his place again and retrieved those pinhole cameras. Along with the memory cards containing the footage. I planned to find time to review the videos."

"Then, unexpectedly, I caught something."

"There's one video where I saw him alone at home, mentally unhinged. He was talking to himself, confessing that he was the one who killed his ex-girlfriend and the Audi guy, and that he was also the culprit behind the serial rape-murder cases in Nancheng City."

Yang Qi led Jiang Ran to a bike shed.

No one was around.

Yang Qi showed Jiang Ran a video.

In the video.

It was Tang Jia in his living room.

The timestamp on the video was unclear.

Because the curtains and such had all been drawn.

The living room lights were on.

There stood Tang Jia, the man Jiang Ran had met once before, standing in place, side-profile to the camera, holding a color photo of his ex-girlfriend in his hands.

Tang Jia's current expression couldn't be seen clearly.

But from his tone, he was indeed somewhat deranged.

"I love you..."

"I really love you so much..."

"But why did you abandon me? Why did you betray me?!"

"Now it's over. You're dead. You've gone to another world!"

"But I regret it. I shouldn't have let you die together with that man. Instead, you became a pair of doomed lovers..."

"I should have killed that man and imprisoned you instead..."

"Do you know? I'm an orphan. How I wished to have a beautiful, complete family. A family built together with you?"

"But none of that is possible anymore!"

Then, Tang Jia was seen frenziedly kissing the photo. Saliva, tongue. Though not witnessed firsthand, from this camera angle, one could still see that the photo had already been eroded by his saliva countless times.

He kissed it for a full five minutes, nearly wearing the color photo thin.

Only then did he stop.

After stopping, he tossed the photo onto the TV cabinet, pulled out a photo album from it, and extracted another photo.

It was presumably still a photo of his ex-girlfriend. It seemed he had quite a collection of her photos.

After pulling out a new one.

He continued speaking to the photo:

"Why did you look down on me for being poor?"

"I'm an orphan. I really don't have money! But why did you look down on me for being poor?!"

"We could have worked hard together to earn money! Why did you want to find a rich man and take the easy way out?"

"I never looked down on you..."

"For the messing around with men and women at bars and nightclubs. For having been a prostitute."

"I never looked down on you! Yet you dared to look down on me?!"

His tone shifted to rage.

Even in the side profile captured by the camera, the vicious contortion of his face was clearly visible.
