Chapter 620: Shadow of the Beginning

The Jade Void Sword Master shook his head and smiled bitterly. “I am incompetent. I have brought shame upon the ancestors of the Jade Void Sword Sect…”

Then, he raised his head to look at Su Ye.

“Yehai, you’ve won.”

“May I ask… how you intend to deal with the Jade Void Sword Sect?”

The Jade Void Sword Master’s voice was low, and his gaze held a hint of a plea.

“The Jade Void Sword Sect?”

Su Ye rubbed his chin and stated frankly.

“Kill some, imprison some, and prop up some.”

“The Jade Void Sword Sect has a thousand-year legacy. It’d be a pity to destroy it, so it should be put to my use… Of course, as for the stubborn die-hards, they’ll just have to go down and keep you company.”

Su Ye shrugged.

‘Indeed, I have no intention of completely wiping out the Jade Void Sword Sect. My plan is to purge it and make them my lapdogs.’

After all, Su Ye didn’t have a sect of his own. He’d already subjugated a pile of them on his journey, so what was one more?

Besides, he’d already slaughtered basically every Sword Sect cultivator who had a grudge against him.

“Is that so…”

“Thank you.”

The Jade Void Sword Master said slowly, seemingly breathing a sigh of relief.

After crossing blades with Su Ye, he understood the power of this man, Yehai, better than any other cultivator in the Jade Light Cultivation Realm. If Su Ye was determined to annihilate the Jade Void Sword Sect, its thousand-year legacy would surely come to an end!

Now, even if the Jade Void Sword Sect had to kneel and serve as his dogs, at least its legacy could be preserved.

‘Survival is everything. All that matters is survival. As long as the sect still exists, there is hope for the future.’

Then, the Jade Void Sword Master raised his hand, condensed his Spiritual Qi into a jade slip, and handed it to Su Ye.

“In my younger days, I obtained a fragmented inheritance for Divinity Transformation. It includes a description of the Divinity Transformation Realm, the method for ascension, and a Tribulation Crossing Secret Skill for the Divinity Transformation Tribulation.”

“Please accept it. Consider it a gift of thanks from me.”

The Jade Void Sword Master said earnestly.

Su Ye nodded and accepted the jade slip without ceremony. “Thank you. This will be very useful to me.”

He knew this was the Jade Void Sword Master’s token of gratitude for his promise to preserve the sect’s legacy.

“Chixiao, Songjing…” The Jade Void Sword Master’s Divine Sense flared, calling the few surviving Nascent Soul True Monarchs of the sect to his side.

The Nascent Soul True Monarchs gathered around their leader. They glared at Su Ye, their eyes filled with deep-seated fear, vigilance, and hostility.

Su Ye paid them no mind, nor did he stop them. ‘He had already defeated the Jade Void Sword Master; what trouble could a few Nascent Soul True Monarchs possibly cause?’

‘Besides, if I’m not mistaken, what the Jade Void Sword Master says next will be a great help in my takeover of the sect!’

And just as he expected!

“After I pass on, you are to obey the commands of Yehai. You must not defy him,” the Jade Void Sword Master said softly.

“What?”

“Lord Sword Master, you want us to obey *his* orders?!”

“Senior Brother Shishanzi, Senior Brother Hu Guang… He flooded Luofu State, slaughtered those in our sect’s waters… Hundreds of thousands of our disciples and sect members died at his hands!”

“And now…” Chixiao cried out, his voice choked with grief and indignation.

“Never!”

“A cultivator of the Jade Void Sword Sect dies in battle! We do not surrender…”

“Well said!” Su Ye applauded, his voice ringing out in agreement.

The next moment!

SHHIIINK!

A thin, ice-silver thread shot through the center of Chixiao’s brow, piercing his Nascent Soul and extinguishing his life force in an instant.

THUD.

Chixiao’s body fell to the ground, a slurry of red and white matter oozing from the hole between his brows.

The power of the Dao Source Prototype had annihilated his physical body and destroyed his Nascent Soul at the same time!

The great cultivator, a master of the Late-stage Nascent Soul, had fallen!

“Senior Brother Chixiao?!”

The other Sword Sect Nascent Soul cultivators stared at Su Ye, their expressions a mixture of shock and fury!

Su Ye’s expression was calm, almost baffled. “He asked for a noble death and received it,” he said lightly. “What is there to complain about?”

His expression then turned cold. “Accepting the Jade Void Sword Sect’s surrender is an act of my mercy,” he said sharply. “It is also a privilege your own master fought for. If you continue to make excuses, I don’t mind going back on my word…”

Su Ye flexed his fingers, and several ice-silver threads extended from their tips, swaying like dancers.

“Who else among you…” Su Ye gestured toward Chixiao’s corpse. “…thinks the same way he did? Please speak up now. Don’t waste my time.”

Staring into Su Ye’s ice-silver eyes, the remaining Sword Sect Nascent Soul cultivators felt as if an invisible hand were squeezing their hearts, making them unable to beat, let alone voice an objection.

A wise man knows when to yield.

On behalf of the Jade Void Sword Sect, these few Nascent Soul cultivators reluctantly agreed to submit to Su Ye.

Su Ye wasn’t concerned about their lack of genuine loyalty; that was to be expected. A single restrictive seal would be enough to keep them in line. Between his Immortalized Dharma Body and the seals from the Ghostly Flood Dragon, these Nascent Soul cultivators would have absolutely no way to resist.

And so, the dust settled.

The Jade Void Sword Master sat cross-legged, closed his eyes, and with a look of relief, passed away.

The battle for Luofu State was over.

The spectating Nascent Soul True Monarchs, such as Qixia, were utterly shaken by Su Ye’s power. One by one, they came forward to curry favor, representing both themselves and the factions behind them.

Of course, Miss Sanhua was not among them.

Sensing that the situation had turned against her, she had immediately fled, disappearing into the vast sea.

Su Ye wasn’t concerned, however. In terms of both current strength and future potential, he far surpassed Miss Sanhua. That remnant of the Blood Moon Demon Palace could no longer cause any trouble for him.

‘Or rather…’

‘This Blood Moon Saintess… could still be useful…’ Su Ye swirled the wine in his cup. He sat high upon a jade platform, looking down upon the numerous Nascent Soul cultivators attending the banquet in the grand hall below.

Luofu State lay in ruins, but with the Divine Techniques of cultivators, it was a simple matter to hastily construct a temporary hall for a banquet.

“To Yehai! May your path to immortality be everlasting!”
