Chapter 459: What we like
Elion inhaled and exhaled sharply, ignoring the pain that was slowly ebbing away as his body quickly recovered from the shaking breakthrough.
"That was not so bad," he said with a smile as he flexed his trembling fingers. At this rate, he could attempt to merge with the World Eyes without much worry.
’I hope it is not as painful as I suspect.’
He grimaced slightly at the thought.
He was about to call out his system panel when he sensed someone’s presence standing near the entrance leading into the hall.
Elion looked back.
There, standing by the entrance, was Zenith. She was looking at him affectionately, a vibrant smile on her face.
"Oh, hey, Zenith," Elion said with a smile as he got to his feet. "You were watching over me?" Her body flickered: A moment later, she reappeared right in front of him.
"Of course," Zenith said.
She swung her arms around his neck. Her gaze moved over his face, then down his body, before returning to his eyes.
She licked her lips sensually. "You got even more handsome," she said. "I did not even know that was possible."
"Did I now?" Elion raised a brow.
Now that he thought about it, his body did feel somewhat greasy and sweaty. The breakthrough had not only transformed his internal foundation, but his external physical appearance as well.
Zenith’s fingers slid lightly through his hair. "Mmm," she hummed. "Definitely more handsome."
Elion smiled, "You are saying that like you were not already biased."
"I am biased," Zenith admitted shamelessly. "But I am also correct."
Elion chuckled, "Fair enough."
Zenith leaned closer, her body pressing lightly against his. "Your scent changed too."
"My scent?"
"Yes." He raised a brow. That was certainly an odd thing to say; maybe she had a smelling fetish or something. "Only you would say that."
Zenith smiled brightly. "Then it is good that I am here to say such things to hubby."
Elion placed his hands on her waist. He lowered his head and kissed her lightly, as his hands found the impossibly soft cleft of her left and right ass cheeks. Zenith immediately smiled into the kiss, her arms tightening around his neck.
For some reason, after the breakthrough, his dick was rocking a raging boner, and it didn’t feel like it was going to go away anytime soon.
When they pulled apart, she looked at him with sparkling eyes. "You should rest now."
Elion blinked. "That is not what I expected you to say."
Zenith tilted her head. "What did you expect?"
"Something much more sexual and unrestrained."
"I can say that too, if you want."
Elion’s lips twitched. "No, no. The responsible version is fine."
"For now," Zenith giggled softly.
Elion shook his head, then glanced down at himself again. "Before resting, or undertaking any naughty activities, I need to clean up. I feel disgusting."
Zenith’s gaze lowered to his sweaty chest. She inhaled a large whiff of his musky scent. "I do not mind."
"I do."
"But I really do not."
"Zenith."
She smiled innocently. "What?"
Elion sighed, "Bath first."
Zenith’s black, red eyes sparkled, and she gave him a teasing smile. "Together?"
Elion gave her a flat look. After a moment, he smiled shamelessly, "Well, why not? You can take care of me tonight."
Zenith’s eyes brightened at once. "Then I will take very good care of you, Hubby."
Elion suddenly wondered if letting her phrase it that way had been a mistake. But by then, Zenith had already taken his hand.
And judging from the pleased look on her face, there was no escaping now.
’Well, I guess I can merge with the World Eyes some other time.’ Elion thought that as Zenith pulled him along.
...
At the same time, Zenith quietly switched places with her actual body, replacing it with the copy that had been holding Elion’s hand.
No one noticed. Not Mira, not Aria, not Tessa, not Isla, and certainly not even Elion, whom she was holding on to.
Meanwhile, inside one of the guest bedrooms, Mira and Zenith had taken their places on a pair of study chairs which they had moved from a study table inside the room to right beside the bed, where the other three ladies were lying.
Aria had chosen the most comfortable spot on the bed near the pillows, sitting with her legs tucked to the side like she owned the place.
Isla had seated herself neatly on the edge of the bed, her hands folded in front of her and her in a proper posture.
Tessa, on the other hand, had sprawled herself across the bed without the slightest care for elegance. She lay flat on her stomach beside Isla, kicking her feet lazily against the soft mattress while resting her chin on her folded arms.
For a while, the room was filled only with quiet breathing and the soft rustle of fabric. None of them had actually gone to sleep.
After everything Elion had revealed, how could they?
But it was Mira who had suggested that they gather in here. She was leaning back slightly in her chair, one leg crossed over the other, watching the others with a faintly amused smile.
"Well," she said at last, "that was certainly a lot."
Tessa let out a tired groan into the bed. "A lot? That was more than a lot. That was a whole library of madness dropped on our heads in one night."
Aria hugged one of the pillows against her chest. "I still can’t believe that he is going to have three children, and none of them is going to be mine." She puffed her cheeks and let out a frustrated breath.
Mira’s gaze flickered toward her. She could see that at least she had calmed down a bit; they wouldn’t have to risk triggering her by bringing up the topic.
She shook her head. ’But really, this girl has to grow up.’
The more she thought about it, the more she realised that this couldn’t go on much longer. Aria’s tantrums had to come to an end at some point, especially if she wanted to be a mother, as she said.
Even though she liked the idea of being in charge of Elion’s harem, she had to draw the line somewhere. It didn’t really mean she had to go out of her way to look out for Aria every single time.
Even now, tired as she was, she had proposed this little meeting because she thought it was necessary. When tomorrow came, she didn’t plan to be in any condition to walk after Elion was done with her.
She put these thoughts at the back of her mind and brought her mind back to the present.
Isla looked down at her folded hands, then said in a quiet voice, "Is it always like this around Elion?"
Tessa lifted her head just enough to look at her. "Unfortunately, yes."
"I think it got worse after he became stronger," Aria muttered.
Mira smiled. "I agree."
Tessa stared at her for a moment. "How troublesome, how much more problematic can one person be?"
Isla’s lips curved into a small, nervous smile.
Zenith, who had been sitting calmly in her chair, smiled as well. "Hubby is very troublesome," she said brightly.
Everyone looked at her, and Tessa’s brow twitched. "You sound proud."
"Of course, that is because I am."
"Of course you are."
Mira rested her cheek lightly against her hand. "To be fair, trouble seems to love him as much as we do."
Aria’s ears turned faintly red; Tessa immediately looked away, and Isla lowered her gaze. Zenith’s smile became radiant.
Mira noticed every reaction, and her smile deepened. She laughed softly.
Aria frowned at her, "What are you laughing about? You still haven’t told us why we are here."
Mira tilted her head.
"Nothing much. I was only thinking that since Elion is not here to become unbearably smug, perhaps this is the perfect chance for us to talk about him."
Tessa narrowed her eyes.
"So is that why you brought us here? I’m sorry to say I’m not very interested," She let out a deep yawn as she stretched her arms while lying down, "I’m feeling quite sleepy, so if there’s nothing more..."
"Oh come on now, don’t be a bore," Mira interrupted her.
"I’m serious."
Mira ignored her and looked around the room.
"Come on. We are all awake, and none of us will sleep any time soon, so we might as well speak a little."
Isla blinked. "Speak about what exactly?"
Mira’s eyes curved with amusement. "What we like about Elion."
Zenith smiled happily, as though she had been waiting for this exact conversation all along. She looked at their reactions and placed a hand over her mouth. "My, my, this should be interesting."
Tessa groaned. "This is why I should have gone to sleep."
"No one is stopping you," Mira said.
Tessa did not move despite having stated her desire to leave. She was clearly interested in whatever was about to take place.
Mira’s smile widened. "I thought so."
Zenith suddenly raised her hand. "I can go first."
Mira turned toward her with interest. "Please do."
Zenith sat a little straighter in her chair. "I like that Hubby holds my hand."
