Chapter 930: Chapter 377: Death Eaters Raid Downing Street
Speaking of Scorab Prison, there’s an interesting tidbit.
Mr. Mei Jie compared Scorab Prison to Azkaban Prison, and indeed, it’s not without reason.
Because in both prisons, there was a person with the surname Black who successfully escaped.
The one who escaped from Azkaban was Little Sirius, while George Blake was the one who broke out of Scorab Prison.
This Mr. Black is famously known in later years as the agent codenamed "Diamond."
On May 3, 1961, the London Central Criminal Court sentenced George Blake to 42 years in prison for treason, which was the harshest sentence in the United Kingdom since the abolition of the death penalty.
Initially, Black was held in Scorab Prison in North London and was classified as a "special supervision" prisoner, a measure taken against those who might attempt to escape. However, four months later, Sir Roger Hollis, the head of the secret security bureau, informed the prison authority that the investigation into Black had concluded, and requested the removal of "special supervision" on Black.
Thus, the warden assigned Black to a regular single cell in the fourth row and designated him as the correspondence course instructor for Arabic.
From then on, Black made a few good friends in prison and together they plotted escape plans.
In 1966, he finally found an opportunity.
During a film screening on Saturday, October 22nd, someone slipped an iron bar into Black’s cell.
Black used the iron bar to pry open the iron window and climbed out onto the roof. At this moment, the sky was pitch black, and it was pouring rain.
He quickly ran towards the wall 15 feet away, grabbed the nylon rope ladder that Burke had already placed on the wall, and swiftly climbed over the wall to escape. Unfortunately, when he jumped down from the wall, he broke his arm. Black hid in a residence north of London for two months, evading the peak of police pursuit.
Later, Land Michel hid Black under the bed of a convertible car, traveled through the Dover Ferry, reached Belgium, and then went through West Germany to East Germany, eventually flying to Moscow.
And Mr. Black’s precise countermeasures against Dai Ying didn’t end there. After escaping, he wrote a memoir to satirize Dai Ying, but the British government refused to pay royalties, so Mr. Black took Dai Ying to court.
The funniest part is, he won, and Britain had to pay the royalties.
Mr. Mei Jie could still bring up this prison; it’s undeniable... oh, actually, it has little to do with him, after all, it didn’t happen during his premiership, so it doesn’t count as his disgrace.
A light flashed in his mind, recalling some familiar scenes.
So he urgently asked, "Could it be... someone escaped from Azkaban?"
"Yes, Mr. Mei Jie." Little Sirius rubbed his forehead and said, "Not just one person, according to statistics, a total of thirteen heinous Dark Wizards escaped from Azkaban, and they are now missing. It’s reasonable to suspect that they have found their master, Voldemort—"
Mr. Mei Jie was puzzled.
"Voldemort?" Mr. Mei Jie thought for a moment, then asked, "Who is Voldemort?"
"Don’t tell me you don’t know who Voldemort is." Little Sirius’s expression was somewhat exaggerated, then he suddenly realized and said, "Oh, oh, I guess it’s because Fudge, that coward, never dared to mention his name to you, right?"
"Yes." Mr. Mei Jie nodded and said, "I always found it strange why he didn’t even dare to mention that person’s name, as if it were some terrifying thing."
"Some say there’s a magic curse on that name." Little Sirius shrugged and said, "But I don’t think a Muggle calling that name would have Voldemort track them down and kill them, do you think so?"
Mr. Mei Jie swallowed hard, glancing around, feeling that he should enhance the security of 10 Downing Street.
"Don’t worry, Voldemort wouldn’t come to kill you." Little Sirius smiled and reassured Mr. Mei Jie.
"What if he really wants to kill me?" Mr. Mei Jie tried to maintain a normal expression.
"Then you can rest assured, the speed of a magic spell killing is very fast, and it’s not painful, just like Voldemort’s favorite spell—Avada Kedavra." Little Sirius chuckled as he told Mr. Mei Jie the Terror Tale feature of the Magic World: "It won’t cause you any pain, just takes life directly away."
Mr. Mei Jie’s face turned pale.
"Of course, if he chooses to use the Soul-snatching Curse to control you to fall from a building, you’d better ensure you’re heading down." Little Sirius added again: "That would be more straightforward."
"Alright, alright, let’s not talk about how that unmentionable name would kill me." Mr. Mei Jie’s face turned from green to pale, he gestured with his hands to stop, then said, "So you think after that unmentionable name comes back, what will he do?"
"It’s hard to say, that’s why I came to tell you about this matter." Little Sirius said seriously.
Mr. Mei Jie was silent.
He scrutinized Little Sirius for a long while, finally opened his mouth and said: "So, is there anything I can do?"
"I have some lists here." Little Sirius took out his Magic Wand, and with a few taps in front of him, under the astonished gaze of the secretary Bernard and Prime Minister Mr. Mei Jie, a series of photos and character profiles appeared on the table, lined up very neatly.
