Chapter 967: Chapter 395: The Legendary Senior Who Once Dominated the Scene Has Become My Student (Part 2)

Bruce greeted Harry warmly, as if it was a great honor.

"This is Cormac McLagan, perhaps you’ve met before—?" Slughorn introduced again.

Harry certainly knew McLagan, Ron’s rival in love, and also a competitor in Quidditch—unfortunately, he was no match for Ron in every aspect.

Professor Slughorn introduced all the classmates to the three of them and then regrettably said, "It’s such a shame... really a shame, I was only rehired by Hogwarts this year, otherwise Miss Grindelwald and Miss Malfoy would have been my students too."

As he said this, Professor Slughorn turned to Harry and said, "Of course, you should understand, Harry—as an older professor, I have no particular hobbies, only a great interest in those students destined to become famous."

Harry did understand this.

After all, even Phineas back then had this tendency—even if he and Vivi wreaked havoc at Hogwarts, Phineas would raise his board high but put it down gently, not pursuing any responsibility of the two.

At this point, Slughorn winked mysteriously at Harry.

"Just like Principal Phineas Black, right? Harry?"

"Uh... yeah." Harry said somewhat hesitantly.

"But I consider myself far more popular than Principal Black." Professor Slughorn chuckled, looking at the other students, belatedly saying, "Oh, I think some of you here might not know Principal Black... he was the principal when I was studying at Hogwarts, quite unpopular... I’m three years older than Dumbledore."

At this point, Professor Slughorn winked mysteriously at Harry and Annie again.

"I remember now." Annie whispered to Harry, "When we were in the fourth year, Slytherin indeed had a freshman named Horace Slughorn."

Case closed.

Harry finally understood why Professor Slughorn felt regret for not being Vivi’s professor.

Damn, just the thought of missing the chance to have the legendary powerful transfer student senior as a student would make Professor Slughorn regret enough to hit his head against the wall?

Indeed, if it were him, he would probably regret it so much that his intestines would turn green.

But Vivi’s enrollment was too sudden; even if Professor Slughorn wanted to be rehired, there was no opportunity.

As for inviting him and Annie to the reunion... even if he hadn’t traveled a century back, Harry felt Slughorn would invite him—after all, to outsiders, he defeated Voldemort, he is the Savior.

And inviting Annie was purely because Annie was someone from a hundred years ago.

Any student from those years would surely know Annie Saru.

Not because Annie was gentle and lovely, but because she was an unlucky person cursed by dark magic and forced to take a break from school.

And this senior suddenly reappearing, returning to Hogwarts, both emotionally and logically, Professor Slughorn felt he should invite her to the reunion.

For nothing else, for the sake of quirky amusement, he should definitely greet the old senior.

"Harry."

Neville nudged Harry, and Harry turned his head, finding Neville handing him a basket of bread rolls.

Harry took the bread rolls, picked up two, and passed them to Annie, letting her have some too.

"I was just telling this young Max that I was fortunate enough to teach his uncle Damocles back in the day," Slughorn said to Harry as he passed the basket of bread rolls to Annie, "A brilliant wizard, truly brilliant, and his Merlin Medal is certainly well-deserved. Do you see your uncle often, Max?"

Unfortunately, Max had just taken a big bite of quail, eager to answer Slughorn’s question, swallowed too fast, his face instantly turning liver-colored, choking and unable to speak.

"Anapneo."

Slughorn pointed his magic wand at Belby and calmly spoke, and Belby’s airway seemed to clear instantly.

"Not... not often."

Belby said, gasping, his tears choked out.

"Yes, of course, I dare say he must be very busy." Slughorn said, looking inquisitively at Belby, "I suppose he put quite a bit of effort into inventing the Wolf Poison Potion?"

"I suppose so..." Belby said; he seemed daring not to eat any more quail until he was sure Slughorn had finished questioning him, "Uh... yes, he didn’t get along well with my dad, so I don’t actually know much..."

His voice dropped as Slughorn gave him a cold smile.

Harry wasn’t too interested in their conversation but he was sure everyone here seemed to be invited because of some influential relative—except for Ginny.

What? You mean Annie?

Sorry, Annie’s brother himself is a big figure, Sebastian Saru; any Slytherin of that era must have heard of Mr. Saru’s name.

And Harry also heard an interesting bit of gossip—about Bruce Zabini.

His mother was a famously beautiful witch, had been married seven times, each husband dying mysteriously, leaving her a wealthy inheritance.

Getting rich this way, huh?

After interrogating these classmates’ gossip, Professor Slughorn began telling tales of the famous wizards he had taught, including Newt Scamander, his brother Theseus, and Lita Lestrange.

As the sky gradually darkened, he finally ended the meeting and let everyone leave.

But he left behind Harry and Annie.

After everyone left, Professor Slughorn rubbed his hands, smilingly said: "I must say, I really did not expect to see an old friend nowadays—let alone the legendary wizard of yesteryears, who also became my student... if someone had told me this in 1890, I would definitely think he was insane—of course, and Miss Saru."

"Horace." Annie said with a smile, "Seems like you still remember me?"

"Of course I remember you, Miss Saru—in my second year, you took a break because of a dark magic curse." Slughorn said with a chuckle, "Looks like your curse has been completely lifted?"

"Yes." Annie said gently, "Thanks to Harry, who helped me dispel the dark magic curse."

"Oh, if it’s Harry, then it was bound to be no problem." Professor Slughorn said, "He’s always been capable, just think about it, the Fire Ash Snake Faction, Poachers, Lanlock... none could stop his steps, a mere dark magic curse, I suppose it was no problem either."

Then, he asked: "Of course, Harry, permit me to be curious, how did you actually get to the 19th century? Time is supposed to be a forbidden domain..."

"I don’t know myself." Harry shrugged, "I just remember finding a Hogwarts acceptance letter in the cupboard under the stairs, and that letter seemed to be a Door Key—by the time I opened my eyes, I was already in 19th-century United Kingdom."

"I see..." Professor Slughorn nodded, "Magic, truly wondrous, able to transcend time... but what surprised me more, is that whether it’s Miss Grindelwald, Miss Malfoy, Miss Swedding, or Miss Saru, they all managed to find a way to cross a century’s time and space to meet you here."
