Chapter 115: Chapter 115: Berserker’s Might (part 2)

A violent shockwave spread outward.

The ground beneath Kyle’s feet cracked as the force threatened to throw him off balance. Dead branches jumped into the air, and the nearby trees shook from the impact.

[Deathquake]

Kyle immediately bent his knees and lowered his center of gravity, using his greatsword to stabilize himself. The shockwave still forced him backward several steps, but he managed to maintain his footing.

Before he could recover completely, the Gravehorn Reaper charged.

Its enormous body accelerated with frightening speed, and death energy gathered around its twisted horns.

[Gravehorn Charge]!

The creature crossed the distance between them in an instant.

Kyle’s eyes sharpened.

He knew he couldn’t simply block the attack head-on. The monster was considerably larger than him, and its charging speed allowed it to convert its entire body weight into destructive force. Even with his enhanced strength, taking the full impact could leave him severely injured.

Instead, Kyle moved at the last possible moment.

His boots scraped across the cracked ground as he twisted his body to the side. One of the Gravehorn Reaper’s horns passed dangerously close to his chest, tearing through the outer layer of his armor.

The monster rushed past him.

Kyle immediately counterattacked, swinging his greatsword toward its exposed flank.

CLANG!

The blade struck the creature’s body, but the impact was far less effective than he had expected. The Gravehorn Reaper’s bones and decayed flesh had been reinforced by its Bone Crown ability, allowing it to withstand the blow without suffering a fatal injury.

Kyle’s eyes narrowed.

’Its defensive ability increases the toughness of its body, too?’

He had already discovered that the creature could charge with tremendous force, unleash shockwaves, and emit a roar that disrupted concentration. Now he had learned that its body could also become considerably more durable.

This was no ordinary mini-boss.

The Gravehorn Reaper swung its skeletal tail toward him.

Kyle raised his greatsword to block, but the impact sent him sliding across the ground. His arms trembled from the force, and pain shot through his shoulders.

He barely managed to regain his balance before the monster turned around.

The Gravehorn Reaper charged again.

This time, Kyle didn’t retreat.

His eyes burned with determination as he raised his greatsword and activated his second skill.

"Raging Cleave!"

The Berserker aura around him compressed toward his weapon, gathering along the broad blade. The skill transformed his raw physical strength into a devastating strike, allowing him to unleash a powerful cleaving attack against an opponent directly in front of him.

Kyle planted his feet firmly on the ground.

The Gravehorn Reaper’s horns came rushing toward him.

At the final moment, he swung.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

The greatsword collided with the creature’s horns, releasing an explosive shockwave that tore through the surrounding mist. The ground beneath Kyle’s boots fractured, and the force of the collision sent fragments of stone and dead branches flying in every direction.

For a moment, neither side gave way.

The Gravehorn Reaper’s immense strength pushed against Kyle’s enhanced physical power. Its horns were reinforced by death energy, while Kyle relied on his Berserker skills and the strength of his body.

Then Kyle roared and pushed harder.

His muscles bulged as he forced the greatsword forward, gradually redirecting the monster’s head away from him.

The Gravehorn Reaper stumbled sideways.

Kyle immediately followed with another slash, this time targeting the side of its skull.

CRACK!

One of the smaller spikes growing from its enormous horns shattered. The blade continued downward, cutting deeply into the creature’s neck and exposing the pale bones beneath its decayed flesh.

Dark purple energy spilled from the wound.

The Gravehorn Reaper let out a furious roar and staggered backward.

Kyle didn’t give it time to recover.

He stepped forward, his greatsword moving in a relentless series of attacks. Each swing forced the monster to defend itself, preventing it from building enough distance to unleash another full-speed charge.

The battle had become a contest of raw strength and combat instincts.

The Gravehorn Reaper attempted to strike him with its horns, stomped the ground to create another shockwave, and repeatedly swung its skeletal tail toward his body. Kyle avoided what he could and blocked what he couldn’t, answering each attack with a powerful counterstrike.

His armor gradually accumulated scratches and dents. A shallow wound appeared along his arm, and blood trickled down his forearm to stain the hilt of his greatsword.

Yet he continued fighting.

In fact, the sight of his own blood only intensified the fierce aura surrounding him.

Kyle now understand that the Berserker class was not a conventional warrior class. Its greatest strength lay in its ability to turn a desperate battle into an opportunity for greater aggression. A Berserker who continued fighting despite mounting injuries could become increasingly dangerous, especially when facing an opponent who relied on overwhelming physical force.

He had survived countless battles by refusing to surrender when the situation became unfavorable.

And today, he had another reason to keep fighting.

His teammate’s death could not be undone, but he could make certain that the monster responsible paid for it.

"YOU’RE NOT GETTING AWAY!"

Kyle swung his greatsword once more.

The Gravehorn Reaper raised its head, allowing its reinforced horns to intercept the blade. Sparks scattered as metal collided with bone, and the impact forced both combatants to retreat several steps.

For the first time, the undead stag seemed hesitant.

Its body was covered in deep wounds, several of its ribs had been shattered, and one of its enormous horns had suffered visible damage. Death energy continued flowing into its injuries, but its regeneration was struggling to keep pace with the damage Kyle inflicted.

The Mad Wolves watched from a distance, their expressions filled with disbelief.

Their captain was fighting a monster that had killed one of their comrades in a single attack, yet he had managed to force it into a defensive position.

"He’s actually pushing that thing back," one of the ranged fighters muttered.

A mage beside him shook his head. The mage swallowed nervously.

"If that monster manages to charge at full speed again, even our captain might not be able to stop it safely."

The three Guardians exchanged worried glances. They wanted to assist Kyle, but they knew that entering the battlefield without a clear opening could only make things worse.
