Heir of Synthesis: The World Mage
Chapter 327: Enormous Weight
Staring at the two hundred enemies floating in the air, Priam swept his gaze across the group and immediately identified ten figures with incomparably denser pressure.
All of them were Level 9 Enlightened Sorcerers.
The Sorcerers didn’t have structured classes like the Mages, nor did they have divisions of honorary titles like the Sages. For that reason, this nomenclature was used to measure the strength of these aberrations, placing them in the same Rank as conventional Sages.
In the 11th Branch, Mishnar was the Elder Leader and the most powerful figure there. She was the only person whose true power Priam couldn’t measure, certainly because she had already reached the 2nd Rank of the Sages and was a Philosopher.
The other Elders of the branches were all at the final levels of the 1st Rank.
Therefore, when he looked at those ten Level 9 Enlightened Sorcerers and felt the ancient, decrepit life energy emanating from their bodies, Priam became absolutely certain of one thing: he had struck gold.
"Well, well... that pathetic sect only sent an arrogant brat? Yes, we’re Elders from our respective sects," one of the ten invading Elders mocked, letting out a sinister laugh that echoed through the skies.
Priam didn’t answer with words. Instead, a cold, dark smile appeared on his lips.
His Elemental Physique was already fully active. Slowly, Ananke manifested around his hands, taking the shape of two black metal gauntlets that seemed to swallow the very light around them.
Priam took half a step and disappeared into the air like a ghost.
"!"
Before the Sorcerer could even stop his mocking laughter, Priam appeared directly in front of him.
Without any warning, he threw a straight punch.
*BOOOOOOM!*
The force of the blow was so devastating that the very space-time around the punch collapsed, opening black fissures in the void.
The Level 9 Elder’s head exploded into a red mist in the middle of his laughter, and his decapitated body plummeted from the sky like a stone.
All the surrounding Sorcerers froze in midair.
Horror paralyzed their bodies. The young man before them was visibly a beginner Sage! How was it possible that he had killed a Level 9 Elder with a single careless movement?!
Absolute terror filled the invaders’ chests.
However, they swallowed hard and desperately tried to calm themselves. After all, the idiot who had just died had been caught off guard and hadn’t had time to activate his Creation Essence — the ultimate power of figures at that level.
*SWOOSH!*
Priam disappeared again.
When he materialized in front of a second Elder, the Sorcerer reacted instantly. Overcome by desperation, the invader summoned a colossal shield made of pulsing Blood Runes.
At the same time, all of his Creation Essence exploded out of his body in a colorful storm, forming a terrifying and impenetrable aura.
"Come on, you clown!" the Sorcerer roared, putting everything he had into that defense.
[Dominate?] [Yes / No]
Priam simply activated the System’s Domain.
Putting your power outside your body? He had never seen anything so stupid. Maybe against weaker Sages, it was actually functional. But against him, it was the same as begging to die.
The next instant, the idiot’s Creation Essence froze.
"WHAT?!"
The mere pressure of the wind generated by the advance of Priam’s black fist shattered the enemy’s Creation Essence aura before there was even any physical contact.
The next millisecond, the direct impact of the punch struck the shield.
*CRACK... BOOOOOOM!*
The rune shield disintegrated like cheap glass. The impact tore through the defense and completely crushed the Sorcerer’s body, reducing his bones and flesh to a fine bloody mist that dispersed into the wind.
Terror was a word incapable of describing what the others were feeling at that moment.
From a distance, inside the Flying Warships, the army’s soldiers watched the scene with their blood boiling in their chests and their hearts pounding at a frantic rhythm.
In just two moves and less than three seconds, Priam had erased two figures who claimed to be Elders from existence!
Describing him as an invincible being within the same Rank was by no means an exaggeration.
Without giving them any room to rest, Priam continued moving through the skies like a specter, seeming to teleport from one point to another in the void.
All the remaining Sage-level Sorcerers desperately tried to fight back. If they had been ordinary Mages, they would have turned around and fled for their lives.
The people aboard the Flying Warships sighed in understanding. It was just as Priam had said earlier; those fanatics didn’t fear death and would fight until their last breath in the name of their sick convictions.
Within seconds, the sky above the metropolis was slashed by dozens of sinister spatial fissures and consecutive explosions of blood.
Priam injected 90% of all his Ether into Ananke.
The weight exerted by the weapon was enormous — and that didn’t even represent 40% of the artifact’s maximum capacity.
Any other Sage in Priam’s position would have found it extremely difficult to move even a single inch under that burden. However, by using his Elemental Physique to flow in perfect harmony with the winds, Priam moved without the slightest sign of effort.
*BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!*
Three minutes passed.
After an uninterrupted storm of punches and destruction, only eight Sage-level Sorcerers remained in the air.
They were all Elders. Their bodies were mangled, covered in blood, and they were panting wildly from exhaustion.
For some inexplicable reason, those eight realized that Priam simply wasn’t trying to kill them.
The Elders exchanged quick glances, trying to think through the nightmare and figure out what they should do. That was when they noticed Priam’s dark smile. He had appeared standing motionless in the air at a safe distance, watching them.
Before they could understand the trap...
The vision of the eight Elders began to darken rapidly.
Their minds grew heavy, and their consciousness simply faded away.
In the skies, just a few meters from that spot, three figures revealed themselves in the open air.
Shione, Lumiere, and Flaris were breathing heavily. Around each of them, two small, bright, translucent figures floated in rapid circles: they were the Nature Elementals, their spiritual partners.
It had been a completely silent and invisible spiritual attack, executed through the race’s Ancient Art, which utilized the soul power of their partners.
The three had worked in perfect synchronization, using all their power to conceal themselves from the enemy Sages and taking advantage of the exact moment of distraction and mental weakness to invade their souls.
That was the specialty of mental power. However, Soul Power could also behave like an invisible poison suspended in the air. Under the right conditions, it was capable of bringing down even experienced Sages.
The unconscious bodies of the eight Elders plummeted from the sky toward the ground.
The entire battle had lasted mere minutes.
Priam had single-handedly slaughtered 192 Sage-level Sorcerers and, to top it off, captured eight of their most powerful leaders alive.
Facing the horde of weaker enemies still on the ground, frozen in shock throughout the city, Dandara raised her blade and roared with all the strength in her lungs:
"KILL!"
With the signal given, the 150,000 soldiers of the army finally descended upon the city to begin the complete cleanup.
