Hell Singularity: Awakened as a Nightmare Dragon After the Game Ends
Chapter 93: Concrete Consequences
"..." While Nio went to place the battery on the Island to begin activating its flight and to call Stelaria to better inform her about the "threat" she had seen, her actions had already begun to affect the others.
"DAMN IT!!" Yomo screams as he rips out the entrails of a slave girl he ’saved’ from the streets. Yomo became extremely stressed when he received the news that Nio would not grant legitimacy to the princess.
This breaks Yomo’s agreement with the princess, which not only made him lose the original book that mentioned the princess because he gave it to her with confidence that Nio would help.
It also means he will no longer be able to make deals with the princess, who will no longer trust him and will have practically no more reason to help him now that he doesn’t even have the book to do business with.
This was a hard blow to Yomo’s plans, and he lost that great chance. He never expected that Nio would refuse it since it seemed like she would help.
"Why did she refuse? I don’t understand!! Why? It would change practically nothing for her. Since when do the opinions of humans matter in relation to her being a supposed saint when she plans to dominate the world?!" Yomo yanks the guts out with force.
"G-Ghhmm..." The girl beneath Yomo spits blood, unable to even scream as Yomo continues ripping out her organs out of stress while she is still alive.
"Damn Nio!! All that little bitch had to do was accept!! She screwed everything up, that self-centered wretch who thinks everything revolves around her." Yomo’s anger grows. He had already imagined that Nio was weaker.
And Haruna confirmed that, but she also confirmed that Nio is still absurdly strong, which is why Yomo had confidence in his plan and in the confirmation that by using the National Ranks he could tire Nio out enough to defeat her.
But now that his plans have been destroyed, he doesn’t know exactly what to do, especially with the news that Nio is going to put the island back in the skies and increase her legitimacy before the entire world.
"Damn it... why didn’t she accept my request? Does she suspect something? But she didn’t call me, so she has no proof of anything... was it just her being arrogant again and not wanting to hear the requests of others?" Yomo crushes the girl’s head, splattering blood and brain matter across the bed, feeling slightly calmer after having made a complete bloody mess.
"..." Yomo looks at the crystal beside the table, the same one he has to activate for the portal to appear in the Ortyr Kingdom.
"For now, I have to obey until another opportunity appears. After all, I don’t want to be killed or make it too obvious that I want to try something against her. Besides, the princess still doesn’t know that I won’t be able to fulfill my part of the agreement. I just need her to introduce me to three or four National Ranks so I can deceive them or control them." He gets up from the bed, putting his clothes back on with a sigh.
"An opportunity... I know one will appear. Nio seems to be planning to fight her wife, right? That woman is somewhat unsettling. Maybe that’s a chance? To do something during the fight?" While Yomo begins trying to think of what to do, another person also ended up frustrated with the current situation.
Melissa, who currently flies over the empire searching for a good place to set the Raid crystal, is frustrated with this whole situation involving Nio and all the apostles and her current lack of freedom.
Unlike Yomo, Melissa expresses her frustration for different reasons. She had nothing specific planned against Nio, nor is she against Nio’s requests or Nio’s plans.
Rather, she is frustrated because Nio still has her on a leash and is limiting her. She still cannot have freedom, spread her hive across the world, and turn the entire planet into her domain.
"Nio... still so strong..." Melissa murmurs as she devours an arm of a Prism Rank adventurer who saw her wandering when she was distracted observing people and thinking about using them to make honey.
"Why do most humans have such bland tastes... they really only serve to scream and help me build my hive." She looks at the brutally mangled body and feels a deep anguish for not having laid eggs inside him while he was still alive.
"If I put my little eggs in him, Nio will kill me..." She knows that Nio will not accept her colony spreading across the world, so she holds back that instinctive urge as she begins to fly, leaving it all behind.
’I don’t think I can beat Nio even with my hive. Nio would kill most of them in a single attack... it’s so... unfair. Why is she stopping me? It wouldn’t even change anything for her if I spread my hive across the world!!’
"If she died... if Nio died, nothing would stop me... I’m not afraid of any of the other apostles!!! They have no chance of stopping me if I hide and grow my hive!! So why doesn’t she just die already? Die, Nio!! Why won’t you just die already!!!!" Frustration begins to consume Melissa as she expresses it with a distorted tone in her voice.
"That woman, Nio’s wife, where is she to finish off Nio already?" Unlike the negative opinion most apostles have of Typhon, Melissa actually kind of likes Typhon, though not for emotional reasons.
That’s because Typhon never cared about Melissa and for the most part always ignored her and what she did, while she kept Nio imprisoned and restricted what Nio could do. Thanks to Typhon, Melissa managed to colonize several planets without being stopped by Nio.
But now that Nio is without Typhon and they’re in another world, Melissa can only wish that Typhon finds Nio soon so that Melissa can contaminate this world in peace.
"If... I gave signals... for Typhon to find us... would Nio notice?... I don’t know how strong she is... if I did that... and she noticed, she would kill me, but if she didn’t notice..." Melissa thinks hard about it while she finds a good spot in the empire and begins preparing the Raid crystal.
"Nio said I have to return soon... if I take too long, she might think I did something wrong. I don’t want to be punished... I should just go home again. My hive needs care too..." She shakes her head negatively, trying to push those negative thoughts from her mind.
"..." At the moment, she decides to just do the job she was asked to do, uncertainty being stronger than her desire for freedom and her will to spread her influence across the world.
