Chapter 951 - 970: Don’t You Prefer the Night?
"Sure," Qiuqiu sat up. "Do you guys have any ideas?"
"Yes!"
Shopping for clothes was too cliché. Everyone already had plenty, and they had gone shopping together before. It was boring.
There weren’t many parks on Federation Star, and none were genuinely thrilling. Even if there were, they would only be thrilling to ordinary people. For four tough Mecha Soldiers to go to a so-called thrill park... The thrill wouldn’t even compare to getting beaten up by their teacher in a Mecha. So, they leaned toward doing something genuinely interesting.
A formidable soul resided inside Meng Chun’s gentle exterior. "I looked into the Legion Combat Tournament. On the 11th, there’s a Top Ten advancement match. I heard the judges’ review session will also feature a large lecture. How about we buy tickets for this match and listen to the live commentary!"
"The judges are going too?!" Liu Tingting immediately exploded with excitement. "Then will Judge Mo be there?"
"..."
Meng Chun said, "What are you thinking? The Admiral probably won’t have time to go."
"I didn’t see it mentioned on the ticketing site either." If the Admiral were really going, wouldn’t they use his name for promotion? The tickets would have sold out in seconds.
"Good point."
"Even if the Admiral isn’t going, the other judges are excellent too," Meng Chun said, as she really liked one of the female generals on the panel. "Anyway, it’ll be much more interesting than watching it on video. Do you want to go?"
"I’m in." Michelle also liked the idea.
Liu Tingting usually just went with the flow. Since the other two were on board, she was fine with it too.
It was rare for everyone to go out together before the term ended, so Qiuqiu naturally wouldn’t refuse. The four tickets were quickly booked.
The call ended.
Almost the instant she hung up, Qiuqiu’s terminal rang again. It was a perfectly seamless transition. She looked at the flashing name and smiled helplessly. "Hello? How does my boyfriend suddenly have time to call me?"
"I just finished a session," Mo Si’s voice was low. "I missed you."
"Is there a day you don’t miss me?"
"Mhm, no." Perhaps young couples just loved stating the obvious, because Mo Si patiently asked an equally redundant question, "Then did you miss me today?"
"Is there a day I don’t miss you? Do you even need to ask?"
Ah, that felt good. Joy surged through every fiber of his being.
Mo Si felt his heart begin to beat like a drum—THUMP THUMP THUMP. Of course, after reveling in that happiness, he didn’t forget to ask, "Who were you just talking to? You were chatting for so long. Was it Qian Xingxing again?"
He was clearly a bit dissatisfied. "Hasn’t Qian Xingxing been a boss on his own for over a year now? He should study professional management techniques harder and improve his skills as an executive, so he doesn’t have to come asking you every single time."
Jiang Qiuqiu was speechless.
She burst out laughing. "If Little President Qian knew you said that, he would die of anger."
"If he keeps calling you like this, I’ll die of anger first." They already had so little time to spend together, yet he was always interrupting.
"Alright, alright. It wasn’t him just now, it was my roommates."
"Roommates?"
"Wait, don’t ask anything yet. Let me ask you—did you call because you have something to tell me?"
"Mhm, there is something."
"Don’t tell me what it is yet! Let me guess, are you trying to tell me that you’ll have time on the 11th and can come hang out with me at Starry Sky Wander?" Qiuqiu said with a grin.
Mo Si was confused. "How did you know?"
"Because my roommates just invited me to the main arena to watch the Legion Combat Tournament’s Top Ten advancement match on the 11th. Then they mentioned that all the judges will be there, except for you."
"..."
"Well, even though we can still meet up, it won’t be just the two of us anymore," Mo Si noted. It was another disruption to their alone time.
He was the physical embodiment of a depressed panda meme.
"How could it not be?" Qiuqiu immediately retorted. "Does your tournament last all day? Will it start in the morning and not finish by night?"
"We can still be together at night."
At this, she added in an incredibly quiet whisper, "Don’t you prefer the nighttime anyway?"
...
Bullseye. What hot-blooded young man wouldn’t like the nighttime?
