Chapter 957 - 976: Qiudao: Perhaps Changbei’s Sixth Sense Was Right, the Admiral... Has Fallen in Love

  • Next Chapter

In close combat, no legion in the entire Federation was a match for the Sixth Army.

The team had split into two groups. The close-combat powerhouses—Mecha Soldiers with iron fists—rushed right up to their opponents and unleashed a frantic barrage of blows. Meanwhile, the Light Armor speed-types, who excelled at long-range shooting, hung back in the rear. Attacking from both near and far with an incredibly fierce offensive, they successfully broke the deadlock. After about half an hour of stalemate, the scales of victory gradually tipped toward the Sixth Army.

At 4:47 p.m., the First Army was officially annihilated.

Only one team remained on the mountain. The match was over. The top ten had emerged. In the first official ranking, the Sixth Army claimed first place.

It was both unexpected and entirely reasonable. After all, it was always them. What people hadn’t expected was that even with a full weapon selection format, it was still them.

The Sixth Legion fans in the arena erupted into cheers. Mo Si and the other judges stood up. Because of the massive crowd in the venue, all the exits on their side were opened. Following the guidance of the robots and the PA system, everyone slowly began to exit.

Right before she left, Qiuqiu’s terminal chimed again.

By the time she finally managed to squeeze out of the stadium, the sky had grown slightly dark. Qiuqiu was heading back to Starry Sky Wander, while the other three students planned to return to Federation University for one more night before heading home the next morning. The next time they saw each other would be after the New Year. After bidding her roommates an early farewell and watching them leave, Qiuqiu sent a message to Mo Si.

At that moment, Mo Si and Qiudao were still standing by their Hovercar.

With the New Year fast approaching, even the Military Department was going on holiday. Everyone needed to quickly clear out their backlog of work before the break. It was still early; if they took the Hovercar back now, they could get in some overtime. Just when Qiudao thought Mo Si was about to head back, the Admiral suddenly received a call.

Qiudao noticed the Admiral’s expression abruptly turn quite strange. It happened with the speed of the wind and the gentleness of water. Mo Si only said two words before turning to glance at him. Just as Qiudao opened his mouth to speak, Mo Si swiftly stepped into the Hovercar’s cockpit and shut the door.

That single door completely cut off all sound.

A few minutes later, the Admiral stepped out with neatly styled hair and a completely new outfit. Qiudao stared, shocked that he had actually changed his clothes. The Admiral hurried over to him. "Qiudao, you head back first. Go over the Military Department’s affairs with Changbei. Ask me if there are any matters you two can’t decide on."

"Oh, understood, Admiral." Qiudao curiously asked, "Do you have something to take care of?"

Mo Si paused. "I do."

At that moment, Qiudao thought that Changbei’s sixth sense and usual observations might not be wrong after all. The Admiral really seemed to be in love. He was completely different now. Qiudao wondered if even the Admiral had actually fallen in love.

Mo Si couldn’t wait to rush to the place he had agreed to meet Qiuqiu.

Because of his special identity, they had chosen a spot with no streetlights, leaving the surroundings rather dark. In the dim moonlight reflecting off the snow, Mo Si saw her graceful silhouette.

She was waiting for him.

The corners of his lips lifted unconsciously. Taking two steps at a time, he hurried toward her. CRUNCH, CRUNCH. He stepped over the powdery snow and arrived at her side. Right at that moment, Qiuqiu turned her head. Before saying a word, a gentle smile bloomed on her face. "You’re here."

"Mhm, I’m here!"

"You even changed your clothes?" Qiuqiu asked with a beaming smile, tugging at his overcoat.

"Yeah, it was inconvenient to wear what I had on before." A military uniform like that would instantly give away his identity.

"It looks quite nice, too." Qiuqiu clicked her tongue in appreciation and linked her arm through his. "Though it doesn’t look as good as the previous one. I love the way you look in your military uniform!"

Wasn’t that an easy desire to satisfy? "I have clothes over at Starry Sky Wander."
