Her Majesty Chose Violence, They Chose Her

Chapter 300: She Loves Work, She Loves the Morning Court (End)

She shoved Rong Yin onto the Dragon Bed with brute force, pushing him to the far side before pressing Mu Yunlian down onto the bed as well.

Once both men were lying down, she flopped down in the middle and pulled up the covers.

“Ahhhhhh…”

‘Nothing in the world was more important than sleep.’

‘At this moment, not even the sky falling could stop her from sleeping.’

It was clear the Emperor was truly exhausted, so they didn’t dare say anything more.

But now there were three people lying on the bed…

The Emperor was sleeping like the dead, completely oblivious to them.

As for them, they couldn’t sleep a wink. They didn’t dare do anything—not even embrace Her Majesty—for fear of accidentally touching the other man’s hand and being thoroughly grossed out.

Leave?

That wasn’t an option.

If one of them left, the other would surely stay behind. There was no way they would let their rival have that advantage.

The end result was that the two men only dared to hold Her Majesty’s hands. They lay there, stiff as boards, not daring to move an inch.

Fortunately, the Dragon Bed was large enough that it wasn’t a tight squeeze for the three of them.

Xiao Yang, having finally reached a bed, slept soundly. After sleeping her fill, she awoke to broad daylight.

She groggily tried to roll over. ‘Hm, something’s not right!’

‘Why is it so cramped in here? It’s so crowded and hot.’

She tilted her head to the left and saw a sleeping Mu Yunlian. That was fine. But when she tilted her head to the right, she saw Rong Yin, his brows tightly furrowed in his sleep!

A dreadful memory came rushing back—she knew full well that she was the one who had put them on the bed.

She had been so delirious with exhaustion at the time that she didn’t care about anything. All she wanted was to sleep.

‘I can’t believe I pushed both of them onto the bed. I never imagined they’d still be here when I woke up!!’

When she tried to move, she realized that both men were still gripping her hands tightly.

She hadn’t felt a thing until now; both of her hands had gone completely numb.

‘Well, this is a bit awkward.’

Xiao Yang slowly extracted her numb hands. She sat bolt upright, like a corpse coming back to life, then crawled over the head of the bed in a bizarre, zombie-like fashion.

The palace maid waiting to attend to her: “…?!”

Flustered, Xiao Yang shot the maid a look that clearly meant: ‘Don’t you dare make a sound!’

To avoid utter social death, Her Majesty the Emperor scrambled out. The very next moment, as she disappeared behind a screen to wash up, the two “soundly sleeping” men shot up from the bed.

They got out of bed from their respective sides, not willing to spend a second longer on it.

Neither man disturbed the Emperor. Instead, they left through the window, returning to their own palaces to wash up.

—–

Xiao Yang might have been a shameless flirt, but there were some things she was still surprisingly prim about.

‘Last night was just a small mistake made in a sleep-addled haze. Besides, we just lay there. Nothing happened. It’s not a big deal.’

‘What’s past is past. As long as she didn’t have to confront the situation head-on, she could pretend it never happened.’

After washing up and grabbing a quick bite, Xiao Yang headed for the morning court session.

‘I love my job! I love morning court!~’

Today’s morning court session was unusually boisterous. That group of rabble-rousers had been creating a fuss for so long that they had finally worn down Prince Jing’s patience. He had allowed them to enter Jinluan Palace so they could all “have a proper discussion.”

The moment the group heard they could enter Jinluan Palace to state their case, they were thrilled. They assumed their protests had finally forced the opposition to back down.

They strode in with heads held high and chests puffed out, full of fighting spirit and aggressive momentum.

Although the Emperor was absent, everyone still knelt and kowtowed toward the Dragon Throne to show their respect before rising.

They began by questioning Rong Yin. “We ask the Regent King, has there been any word from Her Majesty in the Southern Domain?”

Rong Yin replied, “Her Majesty is merely enjoying her travels. She should be returning very soon.”

“Hah! You’re clearly lying. Who would believe that?”

“Look at this empty Dragon Throne. Does this look acceptable to you?”

They then turned on Prince Jing. “The Emperor has been gone for the better part of a year. Prince, do you find this acceptable?”

They didn’t dare suggest who should be the next Emperor. Instead, they directed their attack at Rong Yin. “You are both the Regent King and the Imperial Consort. Her Majesty has been missing for ages, so why haven’t you led a search? There’s no sign of her, dead or alive! Do you have any regard for Her Majesty at all? Do you have any regard for the stability of the Da Wei Empire?”

Rong Yin gave the same answer as always: “Her Majesty is perfectly fine. There is nothing to worry about.”

But they simply refused to believe him.

“I say it’s because you’re greedy for power! You’re deliberately concealing Her Majesty’s condition so you can seize Imperial Power for yourself!”

“Rong Yin, don’t think that being the Imperial Consort gives you the right to covet the Imperial Power! This empire belongs to the Xiao Family!”

“Prince Jing, bring out Xiao Hong! Let him explain the situation clearly!”

“That’s right! Only Xiao Hong knows what happened! Did he desert Her Majesty and run away? Is that why he’s too scared to show his face?”

Once again, all accusations were directed at Prince Jing, their faces contorted with menace.

Prince Jing sighed again and again. “Why must you all insist on making things so difficult for my son?”
