Chapter 781 - 781

[Supreme Fusion God (Level ???)][DIVINE]

[Fusion/Divine/Effect][ATK 5000/DEF 5000]

[Can only be Fusion Summoned using 1 monster each from Levels 1 through 12 as Fusion Material. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Super Polymerization".]

"A monster with no Level… and belonging to the Fusion/Divine Type?"

The appearance of this Supreme Fusion God monster completely overturned Hoshino's understanding of Duel Monsters, from the materials used to summon it to practically every other aspect of its existence.

As the storm of Super Polymerization dispersed, a humanoid monster with magnificent, exaggerated black wings unfolded them behind its back. Its appearance bore some resemblance to Yubel as it stood elegantly on the opposing field.

Other than that, nothing remained.

Including Supreme King Jaden himself.

"Hmm? Where did Jaden go?"

Hoshino looked around in confusion.

"If you're asking about Jaden, you'll never see him again."

A moment of astonishment flashed across Hoshino's face.

She never expected the answer to come from the Supreme Fusion God monster itself.

Its voice was somewhat androgynous, carrying multiple layers of echoes, as though many people were speaking the same sentence simultaneously.

["Just as I thought. For a Duel Monster that has reached this level, it would actually be stranger if it didn't possess a will of its own."]

The Supreme Fusion God placed its slender fingers against its chest and answered coldly, without the slightest emotional fluctuation, as though merely stating an established fact.

"Jaden has already been sealed within this body together with the power of the Twelve Dimensions. As the price for summoning the strongest god of the Dimensions, he even sacrificed his own consciousness."

"You said Jaden abandoned his own consciousness? Don't joke around!"

Hoshino immediately retorted.

She simply refused to believe it.

There was no way she could accept that Jaden had abandoned his own consciousness and existence because of his Duel with her.

If she believed something like that, then what meaning was there in her standing here?

She had transferred her spiritron body to the other side of the planet precisely to bring Jaden back, only to ultimately cause this outcome.

No one could accept that.

"Exactly! That idiot would never do something like that!"

Akasha joined Hoshino in arguing against it.

"Saying we'll never see Jaden again — who's going to believe the nonsense spouted by some weird thing like you?!"

"'Some weird thing'?"

The Supreme Fusion God spread its arms.

"I am the embodiment of the supreme god who governs the Twelve Dimensions. I know the ending of every dimension.

"Even yours, Hoshino Chiyuki."

"'Ours'?"

"The reason Jaden was willing to wager everything to defeat you was precisely to change the ending of this dimension. Can you understand it? That sorrow, more painful than tearing his own body apart… Jaden has been bearing it alone all this time."

A brief silence followed.

Even though everyone subjectively refused to believe the Supreme Fusion God's words, refusing to accept the fact that Jaden had truly disappeared like this, something deep within their hearts instinctively acknowledged it.

These statements from a god were frighteningly close to the deepest truth.

"I don't understand!"

Hoshino answered honestly.

"If Jaden never told me anything, how could I possibly understand? The only ones who can casually understand the truth of the world and the Dimensions are arrogant gods like you, aren't they?!"

"Jaden told you nothing because it means you did not need to know. You only needed to accept the outcome of your defeat!"

Gathering energy powerful enough to shake the trajectories of the Twelve Dimensions, the Supreme Fusion God transformed the concepts of different dimensions into brilliantly colored, ribbon-like tracks that revolved around its body.

It assumed a magnificent battle stance.

"Continue the Duel, Hoshino Chiyuki. Even this body constructed by Super Polymerization cannot remain stable within a single dimension indefinitely. If we delay for too long, this entire dimension will be crushed beneath the pressure of the overlapping dimensions."

"Isn't it just 5000 ATK? What's there to be so arrogant about?! Headmistress still has the strongest Evil God on her side!"

Minazuki shouted, desperately trying to maintain his confidence.

Even though Supreme Fusion God possessed 5000 ATK — the highest printed ATK value among Duel Monsters — as long as The Wicked Avatar remained on the field, it would always have exactly 1 more ATK than its opponent, enough to destroy it in battle.

"Evil God, it's up to you!"

Hoshino gave the command.

Upon receiving Hoshino's order, the Evil God's black sphere transformed.

But the final form of The Wicked Avatar appeared as its original little-girl form, slowly descending onto the field.

"No, girl. The thing before us is not an existence that I can imitate in my current state."

"Can't you imitate it? How is that possible?!"

Hoshino was incredulous.

The strongest Evil God, which had once been able to effortlessly surpass even infinitely high ATK, was actually backing down in front of the Supreme Fusion God's mere 5000 ATK.

The Evil God explained:

"A supreme god that has fused the power of the Twelve Dimensions… it has already surpassed the level that a mere Sacred Beast or Evil God can reach. It's not that I cannot imitate it. It would be more accurate to say that even if I did, there would be no meaning to it. The terrifying part of this thing isn't its ATK or DEF."

The Supreme Fusion God's layered voice rang out once more.

"As a deity standing at the highest point of the Fusion Dimension, you seem capable of understanding."

Raising an arm wrapped in the ribbon-like tracks representing the concepts of the dimensions, the Supreme Fusion God demonstrated its powers to Hoshino one after another.

[While this card remains face-up on the field, it is unaffected by the effects of other cards, any damage you would take becomes 0, and you cannot conduct your normal Draw.]

The dimensional tracks representing effect resistance, immunity to damage, and the prevention of drawing cards spread across the sky above them, tearing apart the gloomy heavens.

[If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, this card's controller wins the Duel.]

Next came the effect representing victory through the rules of battle.

Several dimensional-concept tracks wrapped around the Supreme Fusion God's feet, spreading into the earth.

Amid violent tremors, Supreme King's Castle gradually collapsed and disappeared.

"So it's a monster with a Victory Condition."

Hoshino finally understood.

"No wonder you left Jeanne Lily on my field."

At the time, when Supreme King Jaden had activated Super Polymerization, he could have chosen the Level 4 Jeanne d'Arc Alter Santa Lily on Hoshino's field as a Fusion Material.

Yet he deliberately left her behind.

His purpose was simply to leave the Supreme Fusion God a monster that it could easily destroy by battle.

After all, the Evil God with the highest ATK and Nobunaga with destruction protection were not monsters that could be casually destroyed.

"Humanity cannot transcend the shackles of the Dimensions. The power of these Twelve Dimensions shall become the shackles that seal away every possible variable!"

The final effect of the Supreme Fusion God manifested.

The remaining brilliantly colored dimensional-concept tracks spread outward, merging into the air and corrupting the entire world.

[If this card leaves your field, this card's controller wins the Duel.]

"It has two separate effects that grant an automatic victory?"

Hoshino's red pupils contracted slightly.

"And what kind of ridiculous rule is this?! Whether it destroys my monster by battle or gets destroyed itself, you win the Duel instantly?! What kind of completely unreasonable monster is this?!"

The three effects displayed by the Supreme Fusion God were interconnected, just like the spreading dimensional tracks.

Together, they completely sealed off every possible path Hoshino could take toward victory.
