Lira began to buck her hips in a smooth, rhythmic cadence, sliding her scorching warmth directly against Rhys. The sheer sensation was transcendent—an intoxicating, electric friction that instantly wiped away the cold, lingering ghost of Ariadne’s memory.

Lowering herself down until her lips were resting just inches from his ear, Lira’s breath hitched. “Rhys...” she whispered, her voice trembling with a mixture of raw vulnerability and deep desire. “I want to try for a baby tonight.”

The words struck Rhys like a bolt of pure, blinding light. A massive wave of euphoria washed over his soul, crashing through every layer of guilt, anxiety, and dread that had been suffocating him all evening. For years, amidst the chaos of cosmic battles and the quiet solitude of his broken power, he had dreamed of this exact moment—of building a real, lasting family with the woman who held his heart.

“I’m ready,” Rhys choked out, his voice thick with emotion as he looked up into her radiant eyes. “I’m so ready, Lira.”

Damn Ariadne. Damn Vespera. Damn whatever dark, manipulative web the past was trying to weave around him. Right here, in this bed, was his reality. He was going to protect his growing family with every single drop of blood in his body.

Reaching up, Rhys cupped the back of Lira’s neck and pulled her down into a fierce, passionate kiss, pouring all the devotion, love, and desperate relief in his soul into her lips. Lira melted into the kiss, her motions growing fluid and deliberate. With exquisite care, she lifted herself slightly and guided him inside her, sinking down until there was no space left between them.

A joint gasp of blissful surrender echoed through the quiet room as they merged, their mouths locked together in a deep, desperate kiss.

Lira began to move, her hips rolling in an agonizingly perfect rhythm that drove Rhys out of his mind. Her soft skin pressed flush against his chest, the warmth of her body sinking into his flesh. She gradually increased the tempo, her breathing growing heavier, her chest heaving as she pulled all the way up before plunging back down, taking every single inch of him.

Rhys shuddered violently, his hands slamming down to grip her sculpted hips, anchoring her against him as his entire nervous system sang with pleasure.

“I want to have your baby, Rhys...” Lira moaned against his lips, her low, breathless plea punctuated by a sudden, intense flare of her cosmic power. Golden light rippled across her skin, bathing the dim room in an ethereal halo. “I want your child...”

Rhys was floating on cloud nine, completely intoxicated by the breathtaking sight above him. Lira was the absolute picture of divine perfection—her dark hair cascading over her shoulders, her glowing eyes locked onto his, her breasts swaying heavily with every rhythmic, agonizingly deep thrust of her hips.

Then, out of the far corner of his eye, a faint shift in the moonlight drawn across the bedroom window caught his attention.

Rhys’s heart instantly froze in his chest.

Standing on the narrow ledge just outside the second-story glass was Dione.

Apparently, the unhinged, rain-controlling former heroine had completely ignored Rhys’s previous warnings to stay away. She hadn’t given up on her obsession with burning down their “budding” love—she had simply adapted. She stood pressed against the exterior glass, watching them with wide, unblinking, fanatic intensity.

Through the sheer curtains and the shadow of the overhang, Rhys could clearly make out that her hands were moving frantically. Dione was touching herself profusely—one hand gripping her heavy bosom through her damp clothes, the other sliding frantically between her legs beneath her soaked skirt. Her passive elemental abilities were reacting to her extreme arousal, causing a soft, localized drizzle to begin pattering against the roof and the glass.

Rhys was thoroughly appalled, a disgust souring the back of his throat. But he knew that if he panicked or looked directly at her, Lira would turn around, and this sacred, long-awaited moment would be shattered forever.

He forced his expression to remain locked in pleasure, pretending he saw absolutely nothing outside. Yet, even without looking directly, he could feel Dione’s unhinged gaze burning into him—her mouth hanging open in a silent, panting groan, her tongue slicking her lips as she watched him make love to his wife.

Refusing to give the stalker the satisfaction of an acknowledgment, Rhys deliberately snapped his full focus back to Lira. He reached his hands up, tracing the smooth curves of his wife’s waist, pulling her down closer to his heart.

Lira, completely oblivious to the voyeur just feet away, took his touch as an invitation. Her excitement spiked, her hips moving faster, hammering down onto him with a desperate, passionate rhythm.

“I’m going to take all of it, Rhys...” Lira rasped out, her voice breaking as she panted into his neck. “I’m going to give you the perfect child... Our baby is going to be so amazing...”

The sheer emotional weight of the moment overwhelmed Rhys. Between the profound love he felt for Lira, the dream of becoming a father, and the overwhelming stress of the dark secrets surrounding them, a single, hot tear escaped his eye and tracked down his cheek.

Outside, Dione seemed to reach a fever pitch just watching the intense emotion pass between them. Her knees buckled against the window frame as a violent wave of pleasure ripped through her body. Her clothes were thoroughly drenched from her own localized rain storm, her heavy, hot breath fogging the exterior glass in a thick, translucent film as the drizzle outside rapidly intensified into a heavy, torrential downpour.

Lira felt the wetness of Rhys’s tear against her collarbone and pulled back slightly. Seeing him get emotional, her heart melted completely. “Oh, my love...” she cooed, her golden eyes dripping with boundless adoration.

She leaned down and kissed him ravishingly—a deep, desperate, possessive kiss as if she feared he might vanish into thin air if she let go.

That was precisely how Rhys felt: floating away, entirely consumed by her.

Lira hit her climax first. Her cosmic power surged violently out of control, flooding the room with a blinding, golden radiance. Gravity itself gave way beneath them; the bedsheets fell away as Lira’s aura lifted both of their bodies smoothly into the air, suspending them three feet above the mattress.

Lira wrapped her strong arms and long legs tight around Rhys’s torso, anchoring him to her as she French-kissed him furiously, her hips continuing to grind down in powerful, post-orgasmic spasms. The ambient cosmic radiation washing off her body seeped directly into Rhys’s damaged kinetic cells, soothing the chronic ache in his chest and temporarily replenishing his depleted reserves.

On the other side of the glass, Dione’s frantic hand movements reached a desperate climax of their own. Watching the glowing, floating couple make love drove her over the edge. She finished hard, a muted, muffled scream escaping her lips as her release ruined her dress from the inside out. Overwhelmed by the sight, she leaned her head forward, frantically licking the foggy glass where Rhys’s shoulder was visible, her knees giving out completely as she clung to the window sill for dear life, her wide, manic eyes never leaving Rhys for even a fraction of a second.

Rhys couldn’t hold back a second longer. Overwhelmed by the flood of transcendent sensation, the cosmic warmth of his wife, and the sheer emotional magnitude of conceiving a child, Rhys reached his breaking point.

He finished hard deep inside her.

Lira took every single drop, her eyes flashing with pure, unadulterated bliss as she felt him pour into her. “Yes, Rhys! Give me everything, please!” she gasped out, her inner muscles milking every last bit of his release, holding absolutely nothing back as she rode a secondary wave of intense release.

For several breathtaking, timeless moments, they hovered suspended in mid-air, wrapped in a warm halo of golden, star-like light.

Through the faint glow of Lira’s aura, Rhys could see that Dione had finally collapsed into a spent, pathetic heap on the narrow ledge outside. Her saliva was smeared messily across the foggy pane, her face slouched lifelessly against the glass in a blissed-out, exhausted daze as the heavy rain poured down over her limp figure.

Rhys tuned her out entirely. He was far, far away from that madness now. Dione meant nothing. Ariadne meant nothing. Only Lira mattered. Only their future mattered.

Slowly, as Lira’s gravity-defying aura gradually subsided, the two of them floated softly back down onto the mattress, collapsing together into a tangled, sweat-dampened heap of sheets and warm embraces.

Rhys pulled Lira tightly against his chest, wrapping his arms around her with every ounce of strength he possessed, as if anchoring himself—and their unborn child—to the earth. He buried his face deep into her dark, fragrant hair, inhaling the comforting scent of sweet lavender and stardust.

He held her as tightly as he humanly could, closing his eyes in the dark, praying with everything left in his battered heart that they could finally just rest in peace.
