"Why would you fall in love with me?" Soraya asked suspiciously, narrowing her eyes at him. "That doesn’t make any sense. We don’t even know each other."

She paused as another thought struck her.

"Wait a minute. How did you even find out my name? I’m certain I never told you."

"You did," Santino replied without hesitation. "You told me yourself. In fact, you told me quite a lot last night."

Soraya’s expression immediately changed. "What did I tell you?"

A faint smile appeared on Santino’s lips as he slowly walked around her. He seemed far too amused by the entire situation, while Soraya was becoming increasingly nervous about whatever she had apparently revealed while drunk.

"You told me about your ex," he began. "The man who left you standing at the altar."

Soraya lowered her gaze, remembering the humiliation and heartbreak she had experienced only hours earlier.

"You told me he was only interested in your money. You also told me that you heard him fucking another woman while you were still waiting for him to come to his own wedding."

Soraya’s face burned with embarrassment.

She couldn’t believe she had told a complete stranger all of that.

Santino continued walking until he stopped directly behind her. He placed his hands gently on her shoulders, making her stiffen slightly.

"You told me everything that happened between you and him. Then you asked me if I would marry you."

Soraya’s eyes widened.

"I did?"

"Yes." Santino’s voice carried a hint of amusement. "You were quite determined about it, too."

He leaned slightly closer, his voice lowering.

"You even tried to seduce me into spending the night with you. But I stayed a gentleman and didn’t take advantage of you."

Soraya swallowed hard.

"And you?" she asked hesitantly.

Santino’s smile returned.

"You kissed me."

Soraya’s entire face turned red.

She suddenly wished the floor would open beneath her and swallow her whole.

She had spent the morning trying to convince herself that perhaps Santino had taken advantage of her while she was drunk. Now she was discovering that she had apparently been the one making reckless decisions.

Her fingers curled nervously against her palms.

"I..." She struggled to find the right words before finally lowering her head. "I’m sorry."

It was the only thing she could think to say.

Santino looked at her for a moment, clearly entertained by her embarrassment.

Soraya, meanwhile, couldn’t stop replaying his words in her mind. ’What on earth was wrong with me last night?’

She covered her face with one hand, wishing she could somehow erase the entire night from her memory.

"Soraya, you also asked me for a wedding gift," Santino said, watching her reaction with obvious amusement.

"Seriously?" Soraya spun around, only to realize he was standing much closer than she had expected.

She instinctively tried to step back, but before she could put any distance between them, Santino slipped an arm around her and drew her closer.

Soraya’s eyes widened as she looked up at him.

"You wanted revenge against your ex," Santino continued, his expression becoming more serious. "You asked me if I would be willing to deal with him for you."

Soraya’s stomach dropped.

She could barely believe the things he was telling her.

"I asked you to do that?"

"You did." Santino’s lips curved into a faint, dangerous smile. "And when you asked, I promised you something."

Soraya swallowed nervously.

"What did you promise?"

"I told you I would blow his head off and place it at your feet."

Soraya stared at him in horror.

Her mouth fell open, but no words came out.

She had apparently spent one drunken night pouring out her entire life story to a complete stranger, asking him to marry her, trying to seduce him, kissing him, and then asking him to kill her ex.

She slowly closed her eyes.

’I really need to stop drinking.’

When she opened them again, Santino was still watching her with that maddeningly calm expression.

"Santino," she said cautiously, "please tell me you weren’t actually planning to do that. It’s wrong to kill someone. Also, aren’t you afraid of the police? What if they find out you are..." she paused, wondering if she should say her thoughts aloud or not.

Suddenly, Soraya’s stomach growled loudly in the otherwise quiet room. She immediately covered her stomach with both hands as though that could somehow hide the sound.

Santino’s lips twitched with amusement.

"Freshen up. Breakfast will be served shortly," he said, as if nothing unusual had happened. "You must be hungry after everything that happened last night."

Soraya nodded awkwardly, still avoiding his gaze.

Santino took a few steps toward the door before stopping and looking back at her.

"And don’t think you can escape my proposal."

Soraya’s head snapped up.

"My eyes are set on you, Soraya. You can run if you want, but you’re not getting away from me that easily."

His confident tone made her stare at him in disbelief.

Before she could come up with a response, Santino slowly backed toward the door, his gaze remaining fixed on her. He finally turned around and walked out, leaving her alone in the room.

The doors closed behind him.

Soraya stared at them for several seconds. She searched for her phone and grabbed it from the bedside table.

Searching for the name, she got many responses.

"Santino Selvaggio is the heir to the Selvaggio empire. He nicknamed himself as the Mafia King," as she read those words, everything became clearer to her.

"I got stuck with a Mafia King," she muttered as her heart shrank.

Suddenly, her phone started ringing and her Ex’s name flashed on the screen.
