High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices
Chapter 737 - 698: Rift Closed
It was Xu Wuyi.
He didn’t say a word, nor did he hesitate, walking straight toward the violently twisting rift. Shen Jin watched his back, a complex gleam flashing in his eyes. He didn’t try to stop him, nor did he speak; he simply watched in silence.
Xu Wuyi approached the rift, stopping less than fifty meters from the dark red tear. He then raised his right hand and aimed it at the anomaly.
Deep within his consciousness, the pale blue Heart of Order began to spin wildly.
The Power of Order surged forth like a tidal wave, rushing down his arm and into his palm. It erupted from his hand, transforming into a massive, invisible net that spread out to envelop the rift.
The energy fluctuations surging from the depths of the rift noticeably paused the moment they touched the giant net—like a rampaging behemoth suddenly crashing into an invisible wall.
Xu Wuyi’s expression remained calm. He formed a loose grip with his right hand, and the Power of Order continued to pour out. The giant net grew denser and thicker until it completely sealed the rift’s exit.
The energy fluctuations began to struggle. They desperately tore at the giant net, trying to break free from the restraints. With every tear, Xu Wuyi could feel a tremendous force rebounding, leaving his arm slightly numb.
Taking a deep breath, he focused his mind once more, and the Power of Order surged even more frantically. Under his control, the giant net began to slowly contract, bit by bit compressing the space where the energy fluctuations could move.
The energy fluctuations struggled even more violently. They let out a silent roar, madly crashing against the giant net. Every impact caused Xu Wuyi’s body to tremble slightly.
Yet he just stood there in front of the rift, using his own Power of Order to forcefully suppress the terrifying fluctuations that were capable of destroying everything. He could feel that the Beast King behind the rift was far stronger than himself; it could likely rival a Divine Intent Grandmaster. But now that the rift had become too small, it restricted the opponent’s power. In a pure contest over the hierarchy of rules, his Order feared no one.
A dead silence blanketed the surroundings.
The technicians watched the scene with wide eyes, completely forgetting the pain of their injuries. They didn’t understand rules, they didn’t understand Heart Images, and they didn’t understand any of those profound concepts. But they could see the young man standing there, using his own strength to quell the rift’s violent uprising.
Minute by minute, time ticked away.
Xu Wuyi remained rooted to the spot, his right hand in a loose grip as the Power of Order flowed endlessly, firmly suppressing the energy fluctuations deep within the rift.
The energy fluctuations deep within the rift seemed to sense his determination. They struggled with escalating madness—each impact heavier than the last, each tear more vicious than the one before. Like a wild beast trapped in a cage, it gave its all in a desperate bid to break free.
But the invisible giant net refused to budge an inch.
Right then, a low roar suddenly echoed from the depths of the rift. The sound pierced through layers of spatial barriers and the blockade of the giant net, ringing clearly in the ears of everyone present. The voice was laden with fury and unwillingness.
Then, everyone saw a pair of eyes.
They were enormous, appearing within the chaotic space deep inside the rift. The dark gold eyes featured slit pupils, so devoid of warmth that just looking at them made one’s skin crawl. Through the shrinking tear, it glared fixedly at the outside world. It stared at the insignificant humans. It stared at the young man standing before the rift, suppressing it with his rules.
Xu Wuyi looked back at it. Their gazes collided across layers of spatial barriers, the invisible giant net, and the contracting rift.
In that instant, Xu Wuyi felt an indescribable sense of oppression. It was a pressure that only belonged to a true powerhouse—a presence far stronger than the Tiger-shaped Beast King. It didn’t even need to attack; its mere existence was enough to suffocate an ordinary Grandmaster.
But Xu Wuyi did not back down. He simply looked at those dark gold eyes, his expression as calm as if nothing had happened. His right hand maintained its loose grip, the Power of Order continued to pour out, and the giant net still tightly sealed the rift’s exit. He didn’t waver in the slightest because of the appearance of those eyes.
The dark gold eyes stared at him, as if pondering something.
Right at that moment, the gleam of a blade flared up. The light swept out from behind Xu Wuyi, instantly passing over him, over the invisible giant net, and over the shrinking rift, slashing straight into the depths of the rift.
It was Shen Jin’s blade.
There was no drawing motion, no charging process, nor any forewarning. In a mere split second, the blade’s light had already struck out, slashing toward the retreating Beast King.
The dark gold eyes widened instantly. It let out a terrified roar, its massive body desperately shrinking back in an attempt to dodge the blade’s light.
But the strike was too fast—so fast that it had no time to react.
SLASH—
A soft, slicing sound echoed.
The dark gold eyes trembled violently before slamming shut. A bloody gash split open from the corner of its eye, and dark gold blood oozed from the wound, dripping into the chaotic space.
It let out a shrill, agonizing shriek as its massive body scrambled backward frantically. In the blink of an eye, it disappeared into the depths of the chaos, leaving no trace behind.
After striking its target, the blade’s light did not dissipate. Instead, it continued forward, slicing deeper into the chaos until it completely vanished from sight.
