High Martial Arts: Enlightenment after Practices
Chapter 741: Martial Arts Taking Shape
If he could do it a few more times, the resources he accumulated would reach an astonishing level. These resources could be exchanged for various treasures needed for his Cultivation, used to buy better equipment, and applied to many other things.
But he also knew Qiao Tongyu wouldn’t offer such generous terms for no reason. The Dongjiang Battle Group had guarded the Rifts for so many years; they had accumulated vast experience and knew the situation within every Rift like the back of their hand.
What they needed was someone who could harvest Star Beasts efficiently, turning those originally hard-to-utilize resources into tangible profits. And that someone was him.
“Uncle Qiao, how many times will you need me to step in for this plan?” Xu Wuyi asked.
Qiao Tongyu replied, “Currently, within Dongjiang Province, there are seven Rifts suitable for this operation. The situation in the Star Realm behind each Rift differs, and the scale of the Beast Tides they can release varies as well. We plan to do it in batches—once or twice per Rift—totaling about ten times.
“Of course, the exact number will depend on the actual situation,” he paused to add. “Some Rifts might be cleared out in one go, while others might require two. But no matter how many times, seventy percent of the profits will go to you.”
Xu Wuyi quickly calculated in his mind. Roughly ten times… Even if each trip yielded only half of what the Profound Abyssal Rift provided, that would still be tens of thousands of Star Beasts and dozens of Great Commanders. The total value of those materials would keep him from worrying about resources for quite some time.
Furthermore, this wasn’t just about resources. Every time he stepped in, it would serve as a practical combat test for his Power of Order. Facing different Star Beasts and different rules would grant him new insights—insights far more precious than mere resources.
“I can do it,” Xu Wuyi said. “But I have to finish my business here at the Research Institute first.”
Qiao Tongyu nodded with a smile. “Naturally. I also need time to prepare, to get a clear picture of each Rift’s situation and formulate a detailed plan. By the time you’re done on your end, we’ll be just about ready on ours.
“Additionally, I must remind you of something,” he added after a brief pause. “Although your ability is highly effective against ordinary Star Beasts, if you encounter a Beast King Level entity, things will be different. Therefore, before we open any Rift, we will conduct a detailed assessment to ensure no accidents occur.”
“I understand,” Xu Wuyi nodded.
Qiao Tongyu picked up his teacup and took a sip. “Then it’s settled. Contact me anytime once you finish your work at the Research Institute.”
“Alright.” Xu Wuyi nodded.
They chatted for a few more minutes before ending the call. Xu Wuyi logged out of the Battle Network and opened his eyes, finding himself still sitting on the sofa.
He stood up, walked to the window, and looked out at the Research Institute’s campus. Researchers in white coats hurried back and forth along the corridors. Occasionally, the figures of a few Martial Artists could be seen—people who, like him, had come here to perfect their Martial Arts.
Seventy percent of the profits. Qiao Tongyu’s sincerity was indeed substantial. Yet, he also knew the man wasn’t running a charity. The Dongjiang Battle Group earned “hard money,” but this hard money was by no means a small sum. They were the ones guarding those Rifts, controlling and releasing the Beast Tides, and handling the aftermath. All of this required massive investments of manpower and resources, alongside corresponding risks.
In contrast, all Xu Wuyi had to do was step in a few times and walk away with seventy percent of the profits. To others, it would seem like a gift falling from the sky. But Xu Wuyi knew this opportunity had landed in his lap because he possessed an ability no one else had. The power to instantly slaughter large numbers of Star Beasts while preserving their intact corpses—one couldn’t find a second person in the entire Federation capable of that.
Rarity equated to value. His ability was the scarcest resource of all.
He turned around, walked back to the sofa, and took a sip of the now-cold water. Next, he needed to continue his business at the Research Institute. Once his Martial Arts were mostly perfected here, he would go deal with those Rifts.
Xu Wuyi’s life at the Research Institute quickly got on track.
Early the next morning, Ye Guanlan brought three researchers to the courtyard. They wheeled in a piece of complex testing equipment and skillfully set it up in the living room.
“We’ll do a comprehensive test first,” Ye Guanlan said. “Although your Spear Technique was honed in actual combat, there might be some minute issues that you can’t even detect yourself.”
Xu Wuyi nodded, cooperating with them to complete the various tests.
The equipment emitted a soft HUM, and scanning beams swept back and forth across his body. The researchers stared at the jumping data on the light screens, exchanging soft whispers from time to time. The entire process lasted for nearly an hour.
After the testing concluded, Ye Guanlan looked at the compiled data, a satisfied expression appearing on his face.
“The design concept behind the three stances of your Spear Technique is perfectly correct,” he said. “Chaos, Breaking Skill, and Blood Breaking—these three stances attack the enemy’s Order from different levels. Working in tandem, they are practically flawless. We’ve analyzed them carefully; there really isn’t much room for modification in the power generation techniques and Spiritual Guidance methods of each stance.”
Xu Wuyi listened without speaking.
Ye Guanlan shifted the topic and continued, “However, there is still room for optimization in the application efficiency of your Power of Heart Image.”
He brought up a holographic data projection, densely marked with various curves and parameters.
“Look here. This is the flow trajectory of the Power of Order every time you thrust your spear. It surges from your sea of consciousness, travels through your arm, along the shaft, and finally reaches the spear tip.”
