Chapter 263: Chapter 184: True Spirit Body Peak

Chunzhu gently nestled into Lu Changfeng’s embrace.

A faint, gentle smile graced her face, though it was tinged with a hint of exhaustion.

"My husband, I want to go to Feng City for a while," Chunzhu said slowly.

Lu Changfeng nodded slightly. "I’ll take you there."

Lu Changfeng summoned the Fire Qilin, and holding Chunzhu, he slowly mounted it.

The Fire Qilin soared into the sky, riding the clouds and mists as it flew between heaven and earth.

「Half a day later.」

Lu Changfeng and Chunzhu had arrived in Feng City.

The small courtyard from all those years ago was, surprisingly, still standing.

"My husband, can we just stay in the little courtyard for a while? Is that okay?" Chunzhu looked at Lu Changfeng with hope in her eyes.

Lu Changfeng nodded slowly. "Of course, that’s no problem. You can live wherever you want."

Lu Changfeng took Chunzhu’s hand, and they slowly walked forward.

Lu Changfeng reached into his robes and secretly entered his Dragon’s Space to retrieve a key.

The key had been well-preserved, but the lock on the courtyard gate was covered in rust. He didn’t know if it could still be opened.

He inserted the key into the lock. CLICK. The lock actually opened.

"It seems like it was waiting for us to return," Chunzhu said with a smile.

Lu Changfeng slowly pushed open the courtyard gate.

More than ten years had passed.

The small courtyard was covered in a thick layer of dust.

Faint footprints could be seen, likely left by some thieves.

The doors to the courtyard’s three rooms were all open, and almost everything inside had been taken.

Lu Changfeng gathered his Spiritual Power and swept it through the area. In moments, he had cleared away all the grime in the courtyard.

Lu Changfeng gave a silver ingot to a middle-aged woman nearby who was curiously watching a Spirit Snake, asking her to help wash the courtyard walls.

The woman was more than happy to oblige.

"So you’re the owners of this little courtyard?"

"It looks like no one has lived here for over ten years. We’ll be neighbors from now on, so we should keep in touch!" Seeing Lu Changfeng and Chunzhu’s elegant and expensive-looking clothes, the woman was keen to be on good terms with them.

Lu Changfeng nodded slightly and gave a simple, understated explanation of his and Chunzhu’s origins.

Afterward, Lu Changfeng went into the courtyard and moved all sorts of furniture out of his Dragon’s Space, furnishing the place nicely.

"What do you want to eat today? I’ll make it for you." Lu Changfeng brought out a lounge chair so Chunzhu could bask in the sun in the courtyard.

Under the sunlight, Chunzhu’s pale face seemed to be coated in a layer of golden foil.

"I want to eat stir-fried pork with dried bamboo shoots, and, um, Guanyin tofu," Chunzhu said without reservation.

’She had served her husband since she was young; this was the first time it was his turn to serve her.’

Lu Changfeng agreed, then went out to buy the ingredients. He didn’t have these things prepared in his Dragon’s Space.

Chunzhu watched Lu Changfeng leave. For the first time, she didn’t feel anxious. Perhaps it was because she was here, in this little courtyard.

This place held so many of her memories with Lu Changfeng.

Chunzhu thought of the teenage Lu Changfeng practicing his sword forms in the courtyard, and a fond, dazed smile spread across her face.

Lu Changfeng entered the courtyard carrying the ingredients.

He paused in front of Chunzhu, his thoughts drifting back into his memories.

He had achieved Longevity.

But now, that Longevity belonged only to him, and not to the people around him.

After a little less than an hour, Lu Changfeng returned to his senses.

Lu Changfeng leaned down and gently kissed Chunzhu’s forehead. The next moment, with a soft wave of his hand, he placed Chunzhu’s body into the Dragon’s Space.

In the vacuum of the space, Chunzhu’s body would not decompose.

Chunzhu was gone.

This little courtyard no longer had a reason to exist.

These were Lu Changfeng’s earliest memories after arriving in the Profound Realm. Now, with Chunzhu’s passing, they all faded away.

Lu Changfeng had the Fire Qilin breathe fire.

In the raging flames, everything in the small courtyard turned to ash.

Lu Changfeng’s primordial memories were buried along with it in the deepest recess of his mind.

From then on, the Profound Realm had only its Saint Master; Lu Changfeng had vanished from public view.

Lu Changfeng flew up, seating himself on the Fire Qilin, and soared away.

「Half a day later.」

Lu Changfeng returned to the Holy City Saint Hall.

"Where is Sister Chunzhu?" Hua Yiran came up to greet him.

"She’s gone."

Hearing this, Hua Yiran gently hugged Lu Changfeng from behind.

Between husband and wife, no more words were needed.

"Have you made any progress regarding Domain-Breaking?" Hua Yiran asked softly.

In this world, with Chunzhu’s passing, Hua Yiran had become the person who knew the most of Lu Changfeng’s secrets.

Hua Yiran knew a great deal.

She knew about the Ancient Chaos Demon Dragon, about Lu Jun and Wei He, about Qiankun Daoist’s Inner Realm. She also knew that a Great World existed beyond the Profound Realm, and that as the Day Count Reset approached, the Profound Realm would very likely collapse.

Lu Changfeng did indeed need someone to confide in, to help sort out his own thoughts.

Sometimes, another person’s casual remark could touch upon a point in Lu Changfeng’s thinking and produce some wonderful effects.

"On Wei He’s side, he has told Lu Jun all the methods for Domain-Breaking."

"The Outer Chaos World is filled with chaotic Chaos Power. You must maintain at least the third tier of the Ancient Chaos Demon Dragon bloodline to be able to advance in that Great World."

"If all goes as planned, as long as I ascend to the Celestial Spirit Body, or raise my Demon God Body by one more level, I will be able to maintain the activated state of the Ancient Chaos Demon Dragon’s third tier for an extended period."

After ten years, with the help of his Heroic Root Bone and Ancient Level bloodline, Lu Changfeng’s current Realm had already reached the peak of the Primordial Spirit Body, and he could break through to the True Spirit Body at any moment.

Lu Changfeng was confident he could ascend to the Celestial Spirit Body within thirty years.

But a mere Celestial Spirit Body was not enough to be completely certain of finding another Secret Realm.

Because according to Wei He, the Outer Chaos World was still constantly expanding, while the Heaven and Earth Primordial Energy had become extremely thin.
